Reed Diffuser

Cochine: Vanille & Tabac Noir Reed Diffuser

Now that everyone is talking about a second lockdown, here at  The Amazing Blog we’re remembering that dreaded feeling of being house-bound, again! Somehow, we need to get our inside space to feel more like the outside, and with a few minor changes like adding a room fragrance, we find that this can help. Now with autumn here, we’ve already changed our room fragrance to something richer, earthy and more reflective of the season. Thanks to Cochine who sent us another of their delicious reed diffusers in Vanille & Tabac Noir, we can now enjoy this comforting and warming scent to uplift our spirits. This simple reed diffuser stimulates our olfactory sense and helps to make our anticipated ‘stay at home, stay safe’ more enjoyable and a whole lot less stressful.

We have previously featured their Tuberose and Wild Fig Reed Diffuser which we totally loved. Kate Crofton-Atkins founded this luxury brand in 2008, and she has been creating a unique selection of fragrances ever since.  Kate spent the first year working with essential oils and then she had the opportunity to partner up with a New York-based fragrance house to launch Cochine in Hong Kong. Since then, Cochine has produced a range of perfumes, reed diffusers, candles, and skincare products. The brand offers luxurious products that have gained them global recognition, in five-stars hotels and boutiques. They have a strong focus on design as well as a sensory focus where each of their fragrances transports you to a global destination and evokes memories and fires up the imagination.

Vanille & Tabac Noir Reed Diffuser is produced by blending several key base notes such as that of vanilla bean, patchouli and the warming sensual scent of the tobacco flower.  BTW did you know that Nicotiana tabacum (tobacco flower) has a long history of use by herbalists as a relaxant, as well as relieving nausea and travel sickness? Yes, that was news to us too! These ingredients are all enhanced with extracts of nutmeg, cardamom and basil leaves which give a warm and opulent aroma to this oil, with the added extra of a feeling of luxury and well-being. All you need to do is arrange 4 to 8 rattan reeds and let them absorb the oil inside the bottle, then by occasionally turning the reeds, it will keep the room well-fragranced. Unlike burning a candle, these can be left unattended; and because they don’t contain any alcohol, they will keep on giving out a long-lasting fragrance.  Or you can remove the reeds and put the stopper for occasional use and the number of reeds used can be adjusted to strengthen or soften the scent. You can purchase your Vanille & Tabac Noir Reed Diffuser here for £60.00. This makes the perfect background fragrance and will add elegance to any home.

Africology Coffee and Rose Diffuser

Who doesn’t love entering into a beautifully scented room? Here, at The Amazing Blog, we have a weakness for reed diffusers as they are safer and more versatile than candles. At this time of year, we want a room fragrance that has both warmth and freshness, this is where one of our favourite beauty and lifestyle brands Africology never fails us. Our regular readers will remember our post on their Rose Body Balm where we commented on their African heritage and how they capture the key flora and fauna of Africa in their ingredients.

Africology has as range of five different fragranced Atmosphere Reed Diffuser sets. We tried the Coffee and Rose diffuser, which for us was absolutely delightful. From its simple, elegant packaging to its sophisticated tawny glass bottle design, it offers soft warm top floral notes combined with the rather interesting and more robust coffee ones, making it a more weighty fragrance and perfect for that heady romantic evening ambience. Apart from its elegant design that will complement any décor, this diffuser is long-lasting; we had ours on the go for at least 3 months!

This diffuser is made from only 100% natural oils. It is very simple and easy to use, just open the bottle and place the diffuser reeds into the bottle until the reeds are fully coated with liquid. Wait about 5 minutes and take the reeds out and insert the opposite dry end of the reeds back into the diffuser. To enhance your home with this long-lasting and evocative fragrance, purchase the Africology Coffee and Rose Room Diffuser here for £45.00. Or at their newly opened London store here.

Darjeeling Reed Diffuser - T London

Here at The Amazing Blog, we truly believe that a clean and calming environment promotes productivity and general wellbeing. We love to use products that make our homes more welcoming and positive environments. Our office has recently embraced a new room fragrance in the form of a reed diffuser by T London.

T London’s aromatic fragrances are inspired by traditional blends of tea. The one we’ve been loving is a blend called Darjeeling, frequently referred to as the “champagne” of teas. The scent brings optimism into the room with aromatic oils of zesty lemongrass, a twist of citrus and spiced nutmeg that is layered over black tea. The elegant glass bottle also makes for a lovely decorative piece in your home! T London also offers refills for reed diffusers, so when needed, you can easily replenish it.

Home Fragrances – Scent Elite, Maiden, Orla Kieley, Miller Harris

There’s something about a fragrance that gives a home a sense of identity, and here at The Amazing Blog we have selected a few products to give your home the beautiful scent it deserves. From candles to reed diffusers, there's an option for everyone.

ScentElite has been living up to its name with their range of luxurious Reed Diffusers, packaged in stunning handmade boxes and wrapped in mauve tissue paper.

Once opened the glass diffuser with its crisp white fibre reeds, makes an opulent addition to any room. We had the opportunity to try The Tea diffuser; the liquid is similar to the colour of a Peridot gem and the scent is warm and floral with a hint of citrus. ScentElite uses 100% pure essential oils and top quality perfume concentrates. They use 8 reed diffusers to keep the scent working for up to 8 weeks - you definitely get your money’s worth! We loved the beautiful packaging and care that evidently went into these diffusers, but the crowning glory of the product was without a doubt the scent. If you fancy a coming home to a warm floral scent order yours here now for £23.

If candles are more your style, we've found a unique alternative to your regular scented candles. Maiden Dorset have created the Curve Candle; that’s right, a handmade curved scented candle.

We were lucky enough to try the Butterfly Lace, which is overlaid with beautiful wax lace and finished with a handmade wax butterfly. All of the candles at Maiden Dorset are handmade and can  be used in two different ways to create different ambiances. For an subtle glow, place a tea light behind the curve of the candle to highlight the intricate carvings on the candle, or simply light the three wicks at the top of the candle for a more traditional look.  The candles come in a variety of scents, we in particular loved the soft English Rose, and can be bought from Maiden Dorset's website here for £28.

For those who prefer more vibrant home fragrances, we love Orla Kiely's Sicilian Lemon Scented Candle to give your home a bright, zesty feel.

This is one for all the citrus lovers out there; it’s a striking candle that will certainly bright up any home with its scent and detailed glass holder. The candle is a blend of uplifting pure oils; Sicilian lemon, mint and lavender, with a warm hint of frankincense. We found that the scent reminded us of a rich and creamy lemon cheesecake, yummy! The glass case is sturdy and detailed with climbing yellow daisies in a futuristic design - it would make a great addition to a room in need of some colour. We loved the rich lemon scent, the thoughtful addition of a heat mat, and how long lasting the product is (it burns for up to 50 hours). Want a candle that smells good enough to eat? Pick yours up here for £25.

It seems that winter is truly upon us, and with it the distant memories of Pina Coladas and the palm trees of summer. Never fear though, Miller Harris has created the beautiful La Pluie candle, inspired by the tropical climate of Mauritius, to bring a little bit of sunshine back into your living room during these dull, dreary winter months.

We loved the gorgeous combination of tangerine, lavender, cassis, ylang ylang and jasmine which will make you feel as if your lying on a beach in no time! Each scent complements to other to create a soft but intense fragrance that leaves your room feeling like a tropical paradise. If you want to bring some warmth and exoticism to your home, get your own candle here for £40.00.

Spice Up Your Home with Abode

  blogimageabode

We all love fragrances for the skin. From women to men, it is an extensive industry that carries something for every taste and smell (so to speak). Here at The Amazing Blog, we like to have a lovely scent in the office just as much as we do on our bodies. There are so many various types of home fragrances out there, from candles to aerosol sprays, but one that really stands out is the diffuser. When we found out about Abode Aroma diffusers, we were very excited to try out some scents from their very extensive fragrance collection.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with reed diffusers, the reeds absorb the fragrance of the oil contained in a bottle, and the reeds diffuse the fragrance into the air. Plus, they are very stylish in appearance, so they look great in the home! Abode Aroma chooses to craft their reeds out of bamboo, which is incredibly porous and absorbent, so the scent is stronger than with other choices. Using 90% fragrance oil and 10% alcohol also means that the scent is stronger, and the fragrance lasts much longer, as there is no water to dilute it. Abode Aroma also makes sure that their packaging is super stylish, ranging from ultra modern to very feminine. All of the diffusers are in clear glass bottles, so they will look fabulous in any room. We were able to test out some scents from their new Neon Collection, which is very modern ‘fluoroscape’ of fragrances. Two standouts that we thought were perfect for late summer and early autumn are Oriental Spice and Fresh Fig. Oriental spice is a very exotic scent, full of ylang-ylang, vanilla, and amber. Overall, it is a very warm scent and will certainly take you on a mini-scent-vacation. Fresh Fig has an obvious sweet fig smell, partnered with oranges, blackcurrant, and foliage. Both of these scents are very unisex-friendly, and would liven up any home. Because of the wonderful packaging, and easiness of the product, the Abode Aroma diffusers make absolutely wonderful ‘grab and go gifts’.

If you are interested in livening up your home, office, or getting a gift for a loved one, look no further because Abode Aroma will certainly have something for you. Their collection is extensive, and they have a scent for any season, and any home. To purchase a diffuser from Abode Aroma (£21-£40 retail), visit the Amara or Acassa website.
