CARISHEA NEW PHOTSHOP.jpg

Here at the Amazing Blog we are always in search of something just a little different… and we were interested to find Carishea, A natural skin and Body Care Company that ‘gives back.’ Part of Trade Right International, the Carishea brand was started in 2011 with two main aims: taking care of your body and helping the people who are behind the brand producing the products.

They produce three different ranges which are Shea Scot, Shea Joy and Shea Spice. The 100% natural body care range consists of Body scrubs, lip balms, soaps and Body Butter which are aromatherapy based. These products are sourced by Ghanaian women who harvest shea nuts to produce unrefined shea butter. Everything is then shipped back to their factory in Scotland where it is then handmade by their workers who are recruited from disadvantaged local communities. What we really like is that this brand gives a minimum of 50% profits which goes into a development programme for the communities in Ghana as well as Scotland.

Our favourite range was the Shea Joy which has a lovely hint of rose and bergamot. Combined with natural ingredients of Shea Butter and Lemon Grass, this range uplifts and rejuvenates your body in prep for the winter weather, as well as being the perfect present this Christmas.

Treat yourself or a loved one and click here to shop all the ranges and help give something back. All are at a very reasonable price ranging from £5 to £12.50.

Minor Figures - Coffee Scrub & Soap

Here at the Amazing Blog we love anything and everything beauty related, but we are also equally interested in taking care of our environment. Believe it or not we’ve managed to combine the two in this next product. Minor Figures has produced a Coffee Soap and Scrub using only recycled coffee grinds. We can help the environment while gaining the natural benefits of the coffee bean; caffeine stimulates and enriches the skin. It has also been proven to reduce that unwanted orange peel effect that so many of us suffer from.

The scrub is handcrafted with pumice and coffee for a deep exfoliation, with added natural tea tree and peppermint oils to soothe the skin and give it a strong, clean scent. The soap, on the other hand, is handcrafted with olive oil, recycled coffee, vanilla, coconut, and star anise. These ingredients are designed to also exfoliate the skin but also make it feel refreshed and deeply nourished. We loved how the products left our skin feeling smooth and our conscience feeling clear.

Keep both your skin and the environment happy by purchasing your own scrub and soap here for £5.90 each.

Rossi Uvema - Rice Bran & Borage Seed Cleansing Oil

Here at The Amazing Blog, we find it immensely irritating when we treat ourselves to 'natural' products, only to find that they're full of preservatives, artificial fragrances and the like. When we want natural, we mean natural, so discovering Rossi Uvema was a breath of fresh air. Using only 100% of the purest natural ingredients, we can certainly trust what we're putting on our skin now.

At this time of year, we are naturally drawn to intensely moisturising products, to combat the drying effect of the cold weather. For this reason, we love Rossi Uvema’s Hydrating Range, which is chock full of wonderful ingredients, perfect for injecting a bit of moisture back into our parched complexions. Comprising of 6 products, all of which offer perfect skin nourishment throughout the day, our favourite is the Rice Bran & Borage Seed Cleansing Oil. In our opinion, there’s nothing more comforting than a cleansing oil on a cold winter’s eve. Lotions, although effective, feel quite cold and uninviting, and often tighten the skin if not used sparingly. The Rossi Uvema Cleansing Oil is perfect for gently washing away the grime of the day, and has a wonderful softening effect on the skin. It’s also brilliant for sensitive skin, and its key ingredients, Rice Bran and Borage Seed Oil are renowned for their soothing and evening qualities. After use, our skin felt soft, smooth and youthful, and having tried many a cleanser in our time, we can safely say that this is no easy feat!

Grab your own bottle of Cleansing Oil here for £14.75. Be sure to check out the rest of Rossi Uvema’s Hydrating Range here too.

Avril - Mascara, Lipstick, Nail Polish

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love searching for new natural beauty finds and We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive the Avril Mascara Noir, Rose Vintage Lipstick and Bourgogne No26 Nail Polish. Avril is our sort of brand as they use all natural ingredients to create the best cosmetics possible.

We often struggle to find a lengthening mascara that lasts. Avril Mascara is designed to stay all day with no smudging as there’s nothing worse than looking in the mirror to find black specks trailing down your cheeks. The brush is what makes this product so special, it's shaped in a spiral with soft bristles whcih coats the lashes with just the perfect amount of product. We applied a few coats without any clumping. It’s so practical and easy to use and we love the fact that is has marula seed, jojoba and sunflower oil which all help to nourish and protect the lashes. We think that this is their hero product not only for performance but also for price point - You just cant go wrong.

The Rose Vintage lipstick felt luxuriously creamy and extremely moisturising. The colour had an iridescent quality mixing well to give a really rich colour pigment on the lips, providing long lasting colour, something we always look for in a good lippy! We loved that the lipstick also contains natural, organic ingredients, including jojoba oil, almond oil and shea butter which provides intense hydration and protection, perfect for the harsh winter weather. The gorgeous burgundy nail polish left us feeling complete, the brush was fairly wide making it easy and accurate to apply to the nail.

Avril is far more reasonable than the majority of the make-up collections. You can order Avril natural and organic mascara for just £5.19, Rose Vintage lipstick for £5.89 from Ecco-Verde.

Dirty Works - Cucumber Eye Pads

After a long, tiring day there is nothing better than relaxing with a spot of pampering. Here at The Amazing Blog, we have found something far more superior than sliced cucumber to rejuvenate tired eyes. Dirty Works have created their own Cucumber Eye Pads to relieve and revive those dark circled, puffy eyes.

The eye pads are conveniently pre-moistened with Cucumber Extract and Aloe Vera, designed to cool and soothe the sensitive skin on the lid and under-eye area. Simply place them on make-up free eyes and wait for the nourishment to melt into your skin. The pads only takes 2-5 minutes to get to work, perfect for those us who need a quick pampering session.

We loved using them in addition to our routine weekly face mask, and we really felt like we were indulging ourselves, but all for a reasonable price! Dirty Works made a quick pamper remedy fun and fabulous, our eyes have never been so refreshed.

Each pack contains 10 individually wrapped pairs and can be bought in Sainsbury’s for only £4. Get your hands on your own pack here
