Royal Style

Here at The Amazing Blog we're a very style conscious bunch, and if there's one thing we've learned over our combined fashion mishaps, it's that classic style never goes out of fashion. So with this in mind, we always have our new style icon Kate Middleton to steer our wardrobes from Primark to Princess, and the book Royal Style by Luise Wackerl has every fashionable young royal from recent history to reference. This beautifully compiled book is not just full of pictures but insights into each royal. With each picture comes historical and social context, proving time and time again how classic style transcends eras. Ever since Grace Kelly glided into royalty, the world has looked to royals (well, some) for classic fashion, after all, who better to dress like than a princess! From Marie Antoinette, to Princess Diana, to our beloved Duchess of Cambridge, Royal Style encapsulates each of their styles, their similarities and their differences. The book is perfect for fashionistas and royal-watchers alike, you don't need to have an extensive knowledge of either to enjoy the collection.

So whether you're looking for a gift for a fashionable friend, or a stylish book to have on your coffee table, the Royal Style book is sure to impress. Available from Amazon.

Peppersmith

At any given time I have about 3 packs of chewing gum knocking about in my handbag - it's true, you can check. Ever fearful of a bad breath emergency, I like to make sure I'm prepared to freshen my breath at a moment's notice. But as you know, us girls at The Amazing Blog love to use natural products whenever we can, so for all you avid chewers out there we give you Peppersmith gum and mints. What makes Peppersmith gum so good (and good for you) is the ingredients they use. They're all natural, and if it says it on the packet, it's actually in the product! Instead of pumping their gum and mints full of the chemicals found in most other chewing gums, Peppersmith doesn't use artificial elements and their gum is sustainably sourced as well. Peppersmith gum and mints come in 3 flavours: Real Spearmint, Real English Peppermint, and Lemon and Peppermint. My personal favourite are the Lemon and Peppermint mints, they're zingy and refreshing, and not at all overwhelming on your tongue. The packaging for the gum is brilliant too, it comes with extra papers to wrap your gum in once your done with it - how clever is that?! And for all of you out there worried about your pearly whites, Peppersmith gum and mints have been proven to reduce plaque and tooth decay, and is even recommended and approved by the British Dental Health Foundation.

So whether you need another gum to add to your collection, or you're looking for an easy way to drop someone a minty fresh hint, try Peppersmith gum and mints! You can buy Peppersmith products at Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Whole Foods, and online.

A Natural ‘Collagen’ Boosting Serum

I love getting product recommendations from friends, but I hadn’t heard of Henry Tianus skincare so I decided to do a bit more research on his BioCollagen Ultra Serum. It claims to have the highest and purest grade of organic botanical extracts, multivitamins and advanced cosmeceuticals.  Well, as we love natural products at The Amazing Blog this was just all too irresistible for a beauty junkie like me! I’m still on my collagen kick, both internal and external, (see my post on Collagen Shots)  so I hoped this will aid my skincare regime as a collagen boasting serum before my day or night cream. I keep reading that our skin starts to age when we reach our mid-20s. So by our 40th birthday, the collagen levels in our skin will have depleted by at least 30%, causing sagging, dull complexion and a permanent sad expression. Somewhat depressing – eh?

This BioCollagen Ultra Serum was named ‘Best Facial Serum’ by Natural Health Magazine, they even said that “its natural collagen-boosting properties are more than worth it!”  (so just imagine how excited I was to get stuck into using this serum…) It’s very light in consistency, has a delicate herbal fragrance and penetrates the skin extremely quickly without leaving a greasy residue. And joy of joys, it also lends itself brilliantly to being used in conjunction with any of my given day or night creams. I have to say that generally you get what you pay for and the key ingredients in this serum don’t come cheap: Hexapeptide-11, BioCollagen, Vitamin A, Hyaluronic acid and Panthenol Stabilised Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Lycopene, Resveratrol, Pine Bark and Grape Seed. However something I must mention is that a little really does go a long way – I use about the size of pea and it give me full face and neck coverage. Also a top tip: Make sure that you shake the bottle well – it makes a huge difference or you don’t get the full effect from mixing all the good ingredients.

I really like this serum and am looking forward to seeing the results. It is a bit of a ‘gulp’ when you know that you will be paying £99 for 30ml but it's worth the pricetag. Head over to their website to pick up your Ultra Serum!
