Skin Chemists - Trim Tum

blog With Summer approaching fast and the swimming costume/bikini season looming. We at The Amazing Blog are just very ‘slightly' going into panic mode. Eek… We’ve all been discussing in the office that there’s really not much time before we’ll all be striping off for our Summer beach holidays. So when Trim Tum arrived, as you can imagine, we were all very motivated to give it a go.  After all, here is a product that 'promises' to aid our battle to banish those unsightly little tummy bulges.

Skin Chemists are an established small family business, with a long heritage since 1890.  Their current MD Richard Walker continues on his father's passion for creating breakthrough skin creams, working alongside world class pharmacists and chemists. They are perhaps best known for their Wrinkle Killer Snake Serum which they launched in 2010.

I was very quick to volunteer testing out  this latest product from Skin Chemists   I’m known for being the laziest person in the office (my excuse is time poor and having had to do slow walks with my elderly dog). I have now been using Trim Tum for the past month religiously (morning and evening) and I have to say that I really have seen a slight difference in the texture in my skin;  although I think that I need to keep going for another month or so to see more substantial results. It contains active ingredients of Laracare and Slimexir (4%) both of which help to revitalise and strengthen the skin to give  a significantly slimmer abdomen. I’m down to the last few ‘squeezes’ and am tempted to get another tube. However be warned it is not modestly priced and is a considerable purchase at £125 for 100ml.

But those lovely people at Skin Chemists have kindly given us an EXCLUSIVE 80% discount offer for their Trim Tum so please log onto their website and enter AmazingSkin in the checkout code – ending 21rd June 2013.  Which makes it a very affordable £25!!  Most certainly I'll  now be stocking up with a few more tubes :)  Skin Chemists products are innovative, ethical and clinically proven to be effective.

biOrganics' Hair Therapy - Salon Secret Elixir Hair Perfecting Oil

blogIf there is anyone I trust to revive my hair back to being shiny and healthy tresses (that we all love), yes  it's that celebrity hairdresser. So when we at The Amazing Blog received biOrganics’s Salon Secret Exlicir Hair Perfecting Oil endorsed by Tim Scott Wright we were certainly interested to try it out for ourselves.

My colleague Lara has naturally dark, thick and dry hair, which she recently dip-dyed, so she was the ideal candidate to give this much- hyped product a try. The Salon Secret Elixir works to tame and nourish dull locks back into shiny and healthy waves. Lara applied the oil to her damp hair after brushing it and got great results - it smoothed her hair and gave her a good sheen. Oh and a single application also goes a very long way. We also liked the fact that this product is small and useful enough to carry around in your bag for a quick spritz.  It's made of  Organic Ylang Ylang and Argan Oil, and what Lara most liked is that the formula is light, odourless and totally natural. For those with thick dry hair, The Amazing Blog  recommends this hair perfecting oil for a quick and simple way to maintain the style and shine that we all love.

For those of you that don’t know, Tim Scott Wright he is the youngest ever 'inductee' into the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame and the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year. So as an added bonus the release of Salon Secret Exlicir also marked the release of biOgranics’ Youtube channel which is full of tutorials instructed by Tim himself. During the video, Tim shows how to use the Hair Perfecting Oil to achieve two salon-inspired looks that are fit for any catwalk. A small 12ml bottle is well-priced at £3.99 and the larger 50 ml bottle is only £12.99. Why not 'Head over' to their website to buy your own today.

Model Kitchen by Cesar Casier

blog Spring is in the air and we all know what that means, summer is right around the corner. Around this time of year we all start thinking about eating healthier in order to look our best while strutting around in our bathing suits. However, eating healthy can be hard. But we have something here at The Amazing Blog that can help you get ready for summer and bathing suit weather in an easy and fun way. Model Kitchen by the model Cesar Casier is full of different meals and snacks that can help show you that eating healthy can be both fun and delicious. With quick and easy to follow recipes, luscious pictures, lists of some of the best hot spots from all over the world and recipes written by some other very famous models this cookbook is sure to excite your taste buds and get you ready for the warmer weather that is sure to come.

Cesar gives you so many tasty recipes that I found it difficult to choose just one for a family dinner party. After a few minutes of browsing through the book and debating which would taste best, I eventually decided upon his recipe for Oven Roasted Lemon Chicken. The recipe was very easy to follow and the ingredients were so simple I had no problems trying to find them in my local Sainsburys. The recipe took no time at all and I was able to present my family with a gorgeous meal that impressed them all. It may not have looked at delicious as the photo next to the recipe, but I definitely tasted just as good.

Through this cookbook, Cesar shows us how important and easy healthy eating can be, although we like to think that once in awhile a guilty pleasure can’t hurt. You can purchase your own Model Kitchen cookbook online for £26.22 and get ready to create some incredible meals.

Quick Crêpes

One of my absolute favourite things about visiting France is the crêpes. Whether it's just with sugar and lemon, or something more decadent like nutella and banana there aren't many sweet treats that can compare to a piping hot crêpe. Now, as we all know, I am so useless in the kitchen that I wouldn't even dream of attempting to make crepes at home but that's where Quick Crêpes comes in. I'm sure everyone reading has tried some sort of pancake mix in their life, but if you've ever tried a crêpe then you know they're worlds away from thick stodgy pancakes. But making them at home is a different story. Quick Crêpes has taken all the guess work out of creating your perfect crêpe, by mixing all the ingredients perfectly. All you have to do is add water to the pre-mixed sachet, et voila! It honestly could not be easier to get a taste of France in your home, and I will put it out there that I didn't even burn the first one. I used quite a large pan and easily got 6 crêpes from one sachet of their Traditional Crêpe Mix. I chose the simple but delicious lemon and sugar combo to top mine, but feel free to experiment with your fillers - maybe even a savoury crêpe! The delicious Quick Crêpes are made with buckwheat which makes for a crispier crêpe, and the ingredients in the mix are all natural. Even the packaging looks authentic and rustic, none of that cheap supermarket cardboard found here.

So if you're looking to add a bit of French flare to your kitchen, Quick Crêpes are the perfect addition to your summer menu. Available on their website from £4.99.
