Beetox Skincare

blog template If there's something I choose (and love) to spend my money on it's skincare. Make-up is secondary for me and quite different. My colour cosmetics stash is reasonable, I wear the same look almost everyday, and to be honest I like that... even though the amount of lipsticks that I own should be banned - I tend to forget that I only have one pair of lips, not 50. However, skincare is something that I only really discovered and appreciated about a year ago since working at Amazing PR. And right now, I'd rather wear no make-up and have good skin than having average skin and wear the most amazing blue-toned red lipstick (my fave shade of lipstick). We should all take care of our skin, after all it is the largest organ of the body and we only have one face. So in my view taking care of your skin should be a priority.

Working in the Beauty PR industry has given me the chance to try many products.  Although, there are really very few that I can actually see and feel a difference on my skin. At The Amazing Blog we've been fortunate enough to work very closely with UK skincare brand Beetox. UMF20+ Manuka Honey and Bee Venom based - beautiful ingredients and definite winners.

Their range consists of a Moisturiser, a Mask and a Serum. The Moisturiser's consistency is thick and smells heavenly. It's probably one of the most luxurious moisturisers that I've ever used,  it's instantly absorbed by my perpetually dehydrated skin  plumping it up and making it feel very soft.  It moisturises my skin beautifully and leaves it feeling very comfortable and ready for applying my foundation. The Serum's consistency is somewhere between a gel and a liquid. When applied to the skin it gently tingles and I can feel my skin tighten instantly (not that I need it, I'm in my middle twenties...) don't get me wrong this feeling is a very pleasant one indeed. And the Mask... is my favourite product of all, it  really purifies and delivers moisture back into my skin making it the perfect combination with the Serum for my particular tricky (and temperamental) skin type.

I must mention with a word of caution that  Beetox does warn all their potential customers about possible adverse reaction to their products. So do bear in mind that one of the main ingredients about this range is Bee Venom (along with their powerful UMF20+ Manuka Honey); so if you're unluckily enough to have an allergy to bee stings please stay away from this skincare savour. None of us at the office are so we've all added Beetox's products to our regular skincare routines.

You can buy Beetox skincare from their website. Follow them on Twitter, and 'Like' them on Facebook.

Retail prices are: Face Mask £55, Moisturiser £39 and Serum £45. You can also buy the 'Multi Set', which includes three products for £139.

biOrganics' Hair Therapy - Salon Secret Elixir Hair Perfecting Oil

blogIf there is anyone I trust to revive my hair back to being shiny and healthy tresses (that we all love), yes  it's that celebrity hairdresser. So when we at The Amazing Blog received biOrganics’s Salon Secret Exlicir Hair Perfecting Oil endorsed by Tim Scott Wright we were certainly interested to try it out for ourselves.

My colleague Lara has naturally dark, thick and dry hair, which she recently dip-dyed, so she was the ideal candidate to give this much- hyped product a try. The Salon Secret Elixir works to tame and nourish dull locks back into shiny and healthy waves. Lara applied the oil to her damp hair after brushing it and got great results - it smoothed her hair and gave her a good sheen. Oh and a single application also goes a very long way. We also liked the fact that this product is small and useful enough to carry around in your bag for a quick spritz.  It's made of  Organic Ylang Ylang and Argan Oil, and what Lara most liked is that the formula is light, odourless and totally natural. For those with thick dry hair, The Amazing Blog  recommends this hair perfecting oil for a quick and simple way to maintain the style and shine that we all love.

For those of you that don’t know, Tim Scott Wright he is the youngest ever 'inductee' into the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame and the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year. So as an added bonus the release of Salon Secret Exlicir also marked the release of biOgranics’ Youtube channel which is full of tutorials instructed by Tim himself. During the video, Tim shows how to use the Hair Perfecting Oil to achieve two salon-inspired looks that are fit for any catwalk. A small 12ml bottle is well-priced at £3.99 and the larger 50 ml bottle is only £12.99. Why not 'Head over' to their website to buy your own today.

Bio2You Organic Anti-Aging Serum

blogBio2You is a skincare range that I first discovered in 2011 and as you will see from my blog post  I really fell in love with the Seathorn Antiaging Cream with Hyaluronic Acid moisturiser. So when we at The Amazing Blog were given the opportunity to try out their Organic Antiaging Serum – well as you can imagine, I jumped at it! To be honest this product wasn’t quite what I was expecting… the serum has a very ‘different’ smell.  It is quite ‘yeasty' which is not necessarily a bad thing, just unexpected!  And you can really smell this with the highly concentrated herbs and vitamin B content - which (unlike other serums) is not being disguised by some other artificial fragrances. It has the texture of dry oil and sinks almost instantly into the skin. Quickly added none of this brand’s products contain any alcohol, artificial colouring or parabens.  It has been specifically formulated to help reduce wrinkles by penetrating into the skins dermis to help repair the collagen and retain moisture. There are also other ingredients of Aloe Vera, Fengreek, Organic Hops, Panthenol (ProVitamin B5) and Organic Seabuckthorn oil (this is my favourite ingredient!)

I have been using this as recommended twice daily in conjunction with my current daily moisturiser and night cream – it left my skin pleasantly slightly damp and very soft.  Over a period of 10 days, I have notice that my skin actually did feel more rehydrated.  However, I think for maximum results I would recommend using this in tandem with their fabulous Seathorn Antiaging Cream .For all those natural product enthusiasts like myself, I would definitely recommend Bio2You Organic Antiaging Serum  it is also good for those who have sensitive skin and the ingredients really are vitamin packed ready to perform. At £24  this really isn’t a bad price for an organic antiaging serum that works.

Jane Scrivner - Balance Skin Elixir

edwinas thursday At The Amazing Blog we're true lovers of a good oil - we're just obsessed with hair oils, body oils and face oils. One of our early discoveries this year has been Jane Scrivner's Balance Skin Elixir. It claims to balance every skin type - from dry, to oily and dehydrated. Since December I've been using a face oil every evening, and ever since the texture and the appearance of my dry (now normal-ish) skin has dramatically changed for the good. When Jane Scrivner's Balancing Skin Elixir arrived to The Amazing Blog's HQ, I was running out of my regular serum of choice and I decided to give it a go - and I'm completely taken with it.

Jane Scrivner's Balance Skin Elixir's main ingredient is Jojoba - perfect for dry, dehydrated and oily skin alike... contradictory in terms, but it actually makes sense. Jojoba penetrates deep and merges with the skin's natural oils, tricking the skin to reduce or increase - in order to regulate - the production of sebum, transforming your skin to a balanced canvas.

My skin absorbes this fantastic oil almost instantly, leaving it soft, supple and healthy-looking and feeling. I just squeeze one pump onto my fingers, warm it rubbing my fingers and patting it onto my skin (not rubbing it). It is perfect either by itself or under your regular moisuriser.

As I said, I've been using face oils for a couple of weeks now, and the overall appearance of my skin has changed for the better. My skin is no longer dry  (it's much less dehydrated now) and I've found that oils have helped me a  fading scars (I have a small electrolysis scar just above my lip). At The Amazing Blog we can't recommend using face oils/serums enough and Jane Scrivner's has quickly become one of our favourites.  A little goes a long way and this 30ml bottle is still going strong - so a good price at £29 - which will probably last anything between - 30 to 60 days. We will also be writing about her Nourishing Cleanser which has been a real hit with Lara - but you'll just have to wait until February to read her review :o)

Face the World - Overnight Skin-Boosting Serum

We always like coming across with brands that originally started offering facial massages in their own salon and that due to their customers' demand, launch their own range of products. These kind of brands are the ones The Amazing Blog trusts completely - these products are always tested on all skin types and their application methods are always in review trying to get the best results from each product.

A few weeks ago we came across with one of these brands, Face The World; and after doing a bit of research of their products, we came across with one of their true gems: the Overnight Skin-Boosting Serum. This product is the only one that it's not featured in the Face The World facial, as it's instead given in sachet form to clients who can take it home and apply it before bed. The feedback they got from their customers was so overwhelming that they finally decided to release it as an independent product.

All ingredients in the Face The World Serum are naturally derived and include: Rosehip Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Wheatgerm Oil, Wheat Seed Extract, Face the World Ceramide Technology Blend, Vitamin A and E, Meadowfoam Oil and Shea Butter. At The Amazing Blog we think Face The World's Overnight Skin-Boosting Serum is a definite winner and has quickly become one of our must-haves.

The lovely folks of Face The World are running a special promotion for the fellow readers of our blog - enter the promotional code SERUM25 an get 50% off the original price. Instead of £50, you will pay £25... amazing value for such a fantastic product.
