Rajeunir - Moisture Serum

Now that the cold is heading back our way, we at The Amazing Blog are trying to keep our skin healthy and moisturised before the drying weather really sets in. Luckily, samples of Rajeunir’s Moisture Serum arrived right on cue, and we were able to keep a healthy, happy glow in our complexions.

Taking their brand name from the French word for rejuvenate, Rajeunir certainly did make our skin feel replenished. The Moisture Serum is made up of a unique formulation of seven active ingredients, referred to as “The Magnificent Seven”, all of which are formulated to work incredibly hard on your skin and give you that ‘Rajeunir Glow’. The gel-like texture absorbs deep into the skin, locking in hydration, and giving our visage a beautiful, soft feeling. Suitable for sensitive skin, the serum protects against the effects of UVA, UVB, and free radicals, as well as being completely paraben free. Using the serum both morning and night, we found that it worked best after cleansing, providing the perfect base for us to apply our make-up and other potions.

Now that we are armed with this Moisture Serum, we feel that we are more than ready to take on whatever the oncoming cold weather can throw at us. Purchase the Rajeunir Moisture Serum here for £42.00.

Hairy Jayne - Nourishing Shampoo and Cream Conditioner

We are always open to trying out new hair products here at The Amazing Blog. That is why we were so excited to receive shampoo and conditioner from Hairy Jayne ! Hairy Jayne is a hair stylist who brews her own range of products with her bare hands at her studio in Brixton. Each batch is carefully handmade to the highest standards, and have been tested by cosmetic chemists. The products are elegantly labelled and hand packaged in recyclable bottles. When we received our bottles in the offices we were blown away that such lovely products could be put together by hand. We received the Nourishing Shampoo and Cream Conditioner, which both have a wonderful floral fragrance that leaves your bathroom and hair smelling delicious. Both the shampoo and conditioner hydrate, add shine, calm frizz, and are recommended for most types of hair. Some of us in the office might be classified as having dry, damaged, or unruly hair, so this duo was a blessing for us to use upon our tresses. We loved both of these products because they made our hair feel super soft, but not flat at all. Hairy Jayne’s products are free from sulphates, parabens, palm oil, and are vegan friendly. We especially loved that all of the ingredients are sourced from companies within the UK which helps to lower the environmental impact of the products we love.

Hairy Jayne offers free shipping on orders of £20 or more, so purchase your Nourishing Shampoo here and Cream Conditioner here for £10 each.

Premae Skincare - Mattifying Mousse Foundation

Although the warm summer evenings are coming to an end we at The Amazing Blog have a common enemy and that enemy is the shiny forehead! Thanks to Premae Skincare sending us a sample of their lovely Mattifying Mousse Foundation our mutual enemy has been slain.

The MM Foundation is among the first mango based foundations to arrive on the market. This whipped foundation is not only gluten and paraben free but it is also filled with other healthy ingredients such as rose, lavender, and jojoba. This blended foundation is good for the skin and smells very sweet. We loved the ease with which this foundation blended and the possibility of buildable coverage. MM Foundation comes in an array of 16 shades, so you are sure to find the right colour for your skin. From Ebony to Ivory, Premae has a shade that will match all of our beautiful and unique skin tones. Unlike some other cream foundations the Premae version felt light as air on the skin and we were happy to know that it has antioxidants, phyto-nutrients, and anti-ageing properties. The 2 in 1 crème to powder formula allows for the foundation to be applied very quickly and efficiently without the need to set your face after application, which can save precious moments in the morning when we are rushing around. Here’s to saving a couple of minutes on our morning routine with Premae MM Foundations!

This unique foundation is packed with goodness and even has the benefit of being free from nuts, petrochemicals and SLS. Check out Premae Mattifying Mousse Foundation here for £29 or head over to their new store in Whiteleys.

Cawston Press - Sparkling Drinks

We are no strangers to adult beverages here at The Amazing Blog, but Cawston Press keeps us happy to be teetotalers. Their new collection of sparkling soft drinks are delicious enough to keep us gleefully toeing the line. The Cloudy Apple and Rhubarb Sparkling Drinks are not from concentrate, have no preservatives, and no artificial colours or flavours.  The refreshing and sweet freshly pressed juices are made from a mixture of British Cox and Bramley apples and the rhubarb is picked in the spring to ensure its tartness. Although both flavours had us smiling and reminiscing over Mum’s packed lunches, our favourite was Cloudy Apple. It was naturally sweet enough to go head to head with our sugar cravings but the ingredients in the drink did not make us regret the decision afterwards. We especially like that they come in cans so that we can just grab the healthy apple based beverages and go!

You can find your way to Cawston Press Cloudy Apple or the Rhubarb Sparkling Canned Drinks at selected Waitrose and Ocado, costing £4.99 for a pack of 6.

Friday Favourites - Festival Ready Nails

Festival season is finally upon us. Everyone has their tents packed and their wet wipes at the ready, but are your nails prepared for a weekend of revelry? Here at The Amazing Blog, we have plenty of bright and beautiful polishes to keep your fingers and toes looking wonderful, so that your nails are looking preened and perfected at the end of the weekend, even if the rest of you looks a little worse for wear.

First on our festival wish list are the Organic Glam offerings from The Organic Pharmacy. With a collection of 29 unique and bright summer shades, we were spoilt for choice. This polish applies smoothly, keeps its vibrancy, and does not chip easily, perfect for a weekend of partying. Free from DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde, we loved the summery polishes, which were ideal for perfecting our ombre skills. Simply paint the varnishes onto a make-up sponge, and print onto your nails. Follow with your favourite top coat (read on to discover ours) and you're left with a beautiful gradient manicure. Our favourite pairings were Lemon and Tangerine, as well as Candy Floss and Pale Blue. Each polish is packaged into an 11 ml bottle and can be purchased here for £11.50.

We’re also a little smitten with FNUG nail polish. A Scandinavian company that offers 84 fun shades of nail lacquers, from holographic to glittery, there’s something for every occasion. Given that it’s festival season, we opted for some beautiful metallic hues. Our favourite was Beauty Editor, a lovely nude mink which would give the perfect understated addition to any festival outfit. We also loved Gold Stiletto; a wonderful metallic gold shade, and the epitome of hot summer evenings. The polishes are filled with  nourishing protein, strengthening silica and delicate caviar, as well as vitamins A, B, D and E, making them ideal for leaving your nails in great condition after a weekend of wear. Get your FNUG nail polish here from their UK distributor for £12, or order through Sarah Silvester at Sarah@touchmyface.co.uk.

For something a little more futuristic, we reach for our Make Up Store hologram varnishes. Available in four unique duo-chrome colours, in our opinion, there’s nothing is more cutting edge than a holographic manicure. Our favourite is Siw, a beautiful blue flecked with silvers, greens and golds. Reminiscent of space age themes and 70s disco balls, we’re in love with the effect it gives, and it certainly acts as a talking point among our beauty obsessed buds. It's the perfect way to add a touch of sparkle, and offset the boho chic look that so often dominates the festival scene. Make Up Store polishes are available to buy here for £11 each.

Of course, no manicure is ever complete without the perfect top coat. Our lacquer of choice is the Brilliance Top Coat from Jessica. 3 free and fast drying, it’s fantastic for giving ‘high gloss in a flash’, setting to a perfect finish. The polish contains UV inhibitors and reflective polymers, which act to prevent chipping, reduce smudging and combat yellowing. As well as this, the speedy drying time makes it a wonderful option for popping into your backpack to set any quick manicures, should the mood take you. The Jessica Brilliance Top Coat is available to buy for £11.95 here.

With all of these beautiful polishes, you have everything you need for the perfect festival manicure.
