Absolute Aromas - Relaxation Sea Salt Scrub

After a long day at the office, we here at The Amazing Blog love unwinding with a warm bath or shower. To make bathing a bit more luxurious, we love using a fragrant aromatherapy salt scrub on our skin to exfoliate and smooth our skin. Our new favourite scrub is the Relaxation Sea Salt Scrub from Absolute Aromas.

The brand was founded in 1994 by David Tomlinson with quality as the top objective for his products. Now the brand is one of the leading aromatherapy brands in the UK, known for their high-quality products that are crafted with care.

The Relaxation Sea Salt Scrub works to deeply cleanse by exfoliating skin all over the body, while essential oils moisturise long after the scrub has been washed off. The calming scent brings peace of mind after a stressful day – with Jojoba, Primrose and Almond Oils – as the gentle salt works to soften the body. We love how smooth our skin felt after using the scrub, and how it moisturised while getting rid of dead skin cells.

For silky smooth skin, pick up your own container of the scrub here for £15.50.

Farrington Oils - Mellow Yellow Rapeseed Oil

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’re always looking for interesting new ways to spice up our meals. Experimenting with flavours has been known to end in disaster, but there’s always the possibility of discovering something utterly delicious. When we swapped out our regular Olive Oil for Farrington’s Mellow Yellow Rapeseed Oil, we were pleasantly surprised by the tasty flavour.

With the launch of Mellow Yellow in 2005, Farrington’s became the first ‘seed to bottle’ producer in Britain. In addition to having a cutely designed bottle, this oil has great health benefits, being cold-pressed, low in saturated fat content and packed full of Omega 3. Did we mention that it’s also vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free? We love to drizzle it over salads, and think it’s going to make a delicious addition to some of our summer dishes (if it lasts that long). If you’re looking to be more adventurous with the oil, check out the brand’s product page for yummy recipes. We’ve got our eye on the Courgette Cake.

Farrington’s Mellow Yellow Rapeseed Oil is available in supermarkets across Britain and Ireland in both 250ml and 500ml bottles, all of which are listed on the brand’s website.

Friday Favourites - Easter Treats and Events

Easter is one of our favourite times of year here at The Amazing Blog. It symbolises the start of spring, when we can shed our winter coats and make the most of sunnier weather. Not to mention all of the chocolate and cute paraphernalia that comes our way! This year, we’ve put together a list of our favourite things to eat and do in the capital, in the hope that we can inspire you all to have a fabulous Easter weekend.

We all know that Easter wouldn’t be complete with a tasty treat or two, and for us, there’s nothing more indulgent than the delectable chocolates from Demarquette. Artisan UK chocolatier Marc Demarquette loves to experiment with flavours, but is a traditionalist at heart, and that is reflected in everything he makes. Among his delicious Easter sweets are beautifully crafted chocolate quails eggs in the style of hot cross buns. These Easter delights come in three delectable flavours - Strawberry, Passion fruit and Salted Caramel - and they’re the perfect decadent treat if you’re looking to spoil someone this Easter. Shop all of their Easter chocolates here, or get the hot cross bun inspired chocolates pictured here for £12.

Speaking of sweet treats, there’s nothing like having chocolate for breakfast, an activity that’s only really acceptable on national holidays. Choc on Choc have thought of the perfect way to disguise your chocolate brekkie with their Chocolate Egg On Toast - a delicious white chocolate egg nestled on top of a milk chocolate slice of toast. A perfect treat for children and adults alike, you can even have a nibble on the cutlery when you’re done! Grab your most important meal of the day here for £12. They did always say that brown bread was the healthiest kind…

If you’re looking for a way to work off the Easter weight, the London Dungeons have put together an event that will scare the calories off. Their ‘Bad Eggs’ trail will run from the 5th to the 27th April, and will have visitors hunt for bad eggs, hidden in the shadows of the dungeons, before meeting the ‘Eggsecutioner’ for a lesson in torture. If that wasn’t enough for a creepy Easter, there’s also Death by Chocolate – a Victorian sweet shop in the bowels of the dungeon, where the confectioner is a notorious poisoner. With flavours like mustard and chilli to risk, you’ll never look at chocolate in the same way again. Book your tickets online for a guaranteed spot and savings, with tickets starting at £20.50 for adults and £16.50 for children.

Just a bunny hop away in High Street Kensington, you can celebrate Easter the way it’s supposed to be with a good old fashioned Easter Egg Hunt. The luxurious Roof Gardens is owned by Virgin mogul Richard Branson, who will be hosting an exciting hunt for kids to take part in. One lucky attendee will win a deluxe egg courtesy of ChoccyWoccyDoodah. An event for children and adults alike, they will also offer an Easter tipple or two so that parents can relax while the kids play. The festivities kick off at 11:45am on Sunday 5th April, so head on down for an egg-stra special Easter.

Skin Shop - KALME Basic Skincare Set

Now that we're putting the winter months behind us, most people are lucky enough to bid farewell to sore, chapped skin. For skin prone to rosacea, ruddiness and easy flushing, however, taming your skin is a constant battle, whatever the weather. We here at The Amazing Blog hate looking like Rudolph as we walk around outside. Lucky for us, Skin Shop’s KALME Skincare Set is helping to rid us of our red faces.

The KALME Skincare Set contains a brand new and patented extract of young caper buds that has been scientifically proven to help combat the symptoms of red skin and sensitivity by up to 70%. The new KALME range offers a plethora of benefits, which help to combat ruddiness and sensitivity, protect from UV damage, provide 24-hour moisturisation and a strong antioxidant action thank to its ingredients Derma Sensitive, NanoSun, Indinyl, and NDGA. I often suffer from redness around my nose, which flares up at the most unfortunate times, but after one use of the range, I noticed a significant reduction. My favourite product from the range is the Day Defence SPF25 Cream which, although not quite as moisturising as I would expect, is great when layered with an oil, offering sun protection to prevent any more redness appearing.  It's certainly a saviour when it comes to sore, angry looking skin.

The KALME Skincare Set (Basic) costs £39.95 and includes a SPF25 Day Defence Cream, a Night Repair Cream & Water-Free Cream Cleanser. Have a look at the Skin Shop website to stock up on the collection, and banish your bad skin days.
