Granny's Secret - Light Jam

Here at The Amazing Blog we love nothing more than to indulge, but like most of us always feel guilty after we’ve given in to that pesky sweet tooth! However, with Granny’s Secret Diet (Light) Jams, we no longer have to feel the guilt while we’re devouring our crumpets.

Granny’s Secret Diet (Light) Jams are created from traditional recipes, contain no additives, and are vegan, gluten and dairy free. The brainchild of Serbian born Snezana Knowles, Granny’s Kitchen UK takes the tradition jam recipe, but instead of adding mountains of sugar, uses fructose instead which make the jams 40% less calorific, healthy and natural.

These were so delicious, you truly would never know that they aren't loaded with sugar. We like to eat natural, but not if it means compromising on enjoying our food. And being from the UK, we do eat a lot of jam. Granny's Secret Jam, in short, is perfect for us.

The jams come in a variety of flavours including Blackcurrant, Apricot, Sour Cherry, Strawberry, Wild blackberry, Raspberry, and can be purchased from Selfridges, Lakeland or the company website.

The Coconut Collaborative – Coconut Milk Yoghurts and Frozen Yoghurts

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love the occasional tempting treat. However, although we crave the instant gratification a sugary snack can give, we’re not too fond of the guilty feeling and the effect that they have on our waistline. It’s always something of a revelation when we unearth a delicious snack that tastes naughty, but has none of the drawbacks. Lately we can’t get enough of the delectable offerings from The Coconut Collaborative.

Established by the founder of those tasty Gu Puds we all love, James Averdieck, and leading nutritionist, Steve Bessant, The Coconut Collaborative have a range of wonderful coconut milk based products which aim to give all of the sweetness, with none of the guilt. Free from dairy, gluten, sugar and soya, as well as being vegan, we expected it to have that ‘healthy’ taste that doesn’t quite satisfy a sweet tooth. However we were seriously impressed with these delicious desserts. Our favourite was the Mango & Passion Fruit Yoghurt. Just creamy enough to feel indulgent, but light enough to be a fresh summer treat, it’s all we’ve been snacking on lately. Their Raspberry Snowconut is also difficult to resist, and perfect for cooling you down on those particularly sunny days.

Grab a spoon and dig in to these wonderful pots of goodness. These delicious yoghurt treats are available to buy here for £1.69. The equally delicious tubs of Snowconut are available for £4.99.

Mara Seaweed - Seaweed Pouches

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’re constantly looking for healthy snack options so we can munch away throughout the work day without guilt. We recently found out about the delicious seaweed from Mara Seaweed, which are the perfect healthy topping for whatever we decide to nibble on.

Sourced from the pure seas of Scotland, Mara Seaweed is 100% natural, and it’s raw, vegan, organic and gluten-free, making it ideal to satisfy all cravings, no matter what your dietary restrictions may be. Although we consider ourselves experts in snacking, I must admit, I had no idea that there were so many different flavours to choose from. Of the three that we tried - Dulse, Kombu and Shony - my favourite was the latter. Perfect for sprinkling over salads, it was the ideal embellishment to my lunch. It’s low in fat, high in enriching protein and will fill you up so you have energy to last through the day. Dulse was also great for spicing up meaty dinner dishes, adding a really delicious smoky flavour. For the highest quality of taste, the brand recommend storing the seaweed in a dry environment out of direct sunlight, although I don't think ours will be lasting long enough to require the storage space.

To add this power snack to your collection, head here and try out the set of Mara Seaweed pouches for £14.99.

OhLaLa Macarons - "Macarons and Martinis" Event

Here at The Amazing Blog, we absolutely love having a fun girl’s day out. What’s better than spending quality time with your girlfriends over drinks and yummy food? When we heard about the Macaron and Martinis Events from OhLaLa-Macarons, we knew it would be the perfect venue for our next girl’s day.

The Macaron and Martinis Events are designed by the talented team at OhLaLa, where you’ll be delighted with culinary excellence in a gorgeous venue with amazing people. Each event lasts for two and a half hours, and includes unlimited macarons and martinis. The company hosts public events, as well as hen parties for soon-to-be brides.

During the class, you’ll learn how to make your own macarons, since you’ll be able to take home a box of 12 designed by you. After you’ve had your fair share of sweet treats, you’ll get to go behind the bar for a lesson in martini making. You can even make your own recipe with the ingredients provided, and the bartender will name it after you and will give you a card with the recipe on it to take home. Talk about fabulous!

The next public event is on 28th March, and you can book your spot for it here. Ticket prices are £65 each. If you’d rather have your own private event with your friends, you can email the staff directly via the email provided on the bookings page of the site.
