Lingham’s Chilli Sauces

Temperatures are dropping and here at The Amazing Blog, we’re putting a bit of heat back into our lives with Lingham’s Chilli Sauces. Who doesn’t love a nice soup with a spicy twist? The range of sauces by Lingham will do the job whether you like it super-hot or not.

Lingham's have been created sauces since 1908, to an Asian traditional recipe. What's great about their sauces, and makes them so unique, is their ingredients list: fresh chillies, salt, vinegar and sugar. You get what you see. No artificial colours or flavours and no preservatives. Nothing but natural ingredients to offer you the best culinary experience ever.

We personally had a lot of fun experimenting in the kitchen as the sauces go with practically everything! Great as a dipping sauce, or pop a bit in a noodle soup - if you fancy a bit of a morning kick whack some in your scrambled eggs to help wake you up in the morning.

Make sure you try the entire range; Original Chilli SauceGinger  & GarlicExtra Hot Chilli (made with bird’s eye chillies) and the traditional SriRacha (a tangy hot sauce). Whatever your taste, there's something to suit everyone. They’ve also been approved by the Vegetarian Society and are also Halal and Kosher.

You can find Lingham’s Chilli Sauce at Waitrose for £1.69, so don’t waste anymore time and stock up your kitchen before winter properly hits.

WildWash - Natural Pet Grooming Products

There's no question that our dogs become a part of the family; we tend to treat to them as equals in every way but one, their beauty routine. Here at The Amazing Blog, we wanted to find a natural ‘Furcare’ product range that is catered to the furry need of all dogs. WildWash have come to our aid with their range of natural skin and coat care for pets. We were lucky enough to receive the Deep Cleaning Shampoo, Fragrance No.3 Perfume and Healing Paw Balm to try on our pampered pooches.

There is confusion on the dos and don’ts when cleaning our dogs - I’ve often heard that most regular pet shampoos strip their skin of natural essential oils. The problem is that my dog, like so many others, will find any excuse to dirty himself. Mud? Rolls in it excessively. Puddles? Dives in head first. There is no other choice but to wash him, but WildWash shampoos are innovative in their focus on keeping the PH balance natural. The Deep Cleaning Shampoo contains Soybean Phospholipids, Neem, Aloe Vera and Sea Kelp; all of which give the coat a deep conditioning and nourishment, as well as being natural flea deterrents, and having anti-inflammatory/antiseptic properties. There is so much goodness packed into one highly fragrant shampoo. The Peppermint, Rosemary and Lemongrass scent is beautiful and neutralises even the stinkiest of canines.

For the stages in between washes that we find our dog’s odour rather pungent, you can use WildWash's range of unique, PH balanced fragrances. That’s right, perfume for our pooches! After all, we want our dogs to smell fresh, clean and delicious all day long. The scents are all natural and plant-based, and we loved the gorgeous Sweet Orange scent with a hint of Coriander and Cedarwood. Once sprayed on the fur it gave a warm and spicy aroma, which didn't irritate the dog either, which is always a concern. Last, but not least, we tried out the Paw Balm, designed to protect our doggies from the many external conditions they have to endure. The Sweet Almond Oil used within it is high in Vitamin E, we were surprised how well it moisturised the pads and kept them soft to the touch.

Every product has passion and thought behind it, so give your dog the perfect fur day and get yours here for £14.95 for the Shampoo and Fragrance and £12.95 for the Paw Balm.

Portland England - Soothing Shave Cream and Post Shave Moisturiser

Here at The Amazing Blog we tend to receive a plethora of beauty products aimed at the ladies in the office. So I was thrilled when  Portland England sent us their new Shave Cream and Moisturiser to try, so I could indulge my love of grooming products too.

The Soothing Shave Cream has a great creamy, glossy texture enriched with Hyaluronic Acid to replenish your skin while you shave. The additional seaweed extracts also give the cream a lovely crisp scent, which is very pleasant compared to other shaving creams on the market. Its partner product, the Post Shave Moisturiser has the same great scent, and also contains Hyaluronic Acid, with added anti-inflammatory ingredients to help calm your skin and eliminate redness after you've shaved. The moisturiser absorbs quickly, which is great if you're like me and always dashing out the door, and leaves a refreshing hint of seaweed fragrance on your skin.

If you're looking to treat yourself, or you're after an early Christmas present, you can buy the products from Portland England's website. The Soothing Shaving Cream will set you back £16 and the Post Shave Moisturiser £24, but if you sign up to their 'subscribe & save' service you’ll save 10% - a bargain in our eyes.

Cookbooks Special

Here at The Amazing Blog, we don’t just enjoy eating great food, we love feeding our culinary skills in the hope of creating some delicious dishes ourselves. In the run up to Christmas there are a plethora of cookbooks out there to buy, but we've picked a few of our favourites to share with you. Some are inspired by a range of cultures, others inspiring you to spice up your favourite meat. The countless mouth-watering recipes will have you running to the kitchen to try them out for yourself.

The Nomadic Kitchen Spices & Spandex is a charming cookbook following Tom Perkins and Matt Chennells on a cycling adventure with a difference.

Part travelogue and part recipe book, the book features 65 recipes inspired from the 26 counties which the boys travelled to in 501 days. Starting their journey in England and ending in South Africa, the book thoughtfully documents the entire journey and the food inspiration found along the way. This is no ordinary cookbook, we felt fully engaged in the narrative and loved the diverse global recipes, cultural observations and stunning photography. Enjoy recreating dishes from Egyptian Falafel Pittas to Zimbabwean Oxtail & Okra Stew, and begin your own culinary journey by purchasing Spices & Spandex here for £25.

Our next cookbook will transport you on a culinary journey through the different China Towns found around the world. Chef Jean-Francois Mallet travelled to different Chinese communities in an effort to understand the reason behind the diversity in East Asian cuisine within the western world. China Towns explores his journey and gives us 100 delicious recipes to try out for ourselves.

For something a little closer to home, Louise Searle and Hayley Spurway have brought us the Saltwater Kitchen Cookbook.

The book brings the taste of Cornwall, a beautiful gastronomic hotspot on the English Coast, into your very own kitchen. Saltwater Kitchen flaunts a simplistic, back to nature method of cooking, heavily influenced by fresh foraged and saltwater ingredients. We loved the real food for real people aspect of the cookbook, and not only do they include fresh and simple recipes, but also recommendations for the best places to eat and drink. Expect recipes for many exciting foodie festivities like beach barbecues and fine dining feasts that will have you wanting to book a stay in Cornwall right away. Dirty Works - Cucumber Eye Pads

After a long, tiring day there is nothing better than relaxing with a spot of pampering. Here at The Amazing Blog, we have found something far more superior than sliced cucumber to rejuvenate tired eyes. Dirty Works have created their own Cucumber Eye Pads to relieve and revive those dark circled, puffy eyes.

The eye pads are conveniently pre-moistened with Cucumber Extract and Aloe Vera, designed to cool and soothe the sensitive skin on the lid and under-eye area. Simply place them on make-up free eyes and wait for the nourishment to melt into your skin. The pads only takes 2-5 minutes to get to work, perfect for those us who need a quick pampering session.

We loved using them in addition to our routine weekly face mask, and we really felt like we were indulging ourselves, but all for a reasonable price! Dirty Works made a quick pamper remedy fun and fabulous, our eyes have never been so refreshed.

Each pack contains 10 individually wrapped pairs and can be bought in Sainsbury’s for only £4. Get your hands on your own pack here
