Flower and Spice - Rose & Coriander Travel/Discovery Set

At The Amazing Blog, we all can relate to the need to pamper ourselves after a hectic week at the office. Therefore, we like to treat ourselves with natural skincare products that are both soothing and calming. So when someone suggested we try the newly launched skincare brand Flower and Spice with their range of natural and organic products, we did just that!

After deciding to stop working in the marketing industry, Flower and Spice founder Karmen Novak  went on to studying organic skincare science at UK-based Formula Botanica before launching the brand last year. Her mission is to ‘...bring nature back to your daily life.’ After experiencing great results on her own skin from the selection of natural oils she chose, Karmen decided to share her propriety blend of essential oils with the world, all in the form of her first launched product the much haled Midnight Beauty Rich Revitalising Serum. Since then, she has gone on to release two other equally successful products. While we only got to try two out of their three products, in the Rose & Coriander Travel/Discovery Set we were extremely pleased with the results. The set is comprises of two of Flower and Spice’s, products the Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturiser and the Midnight Beauty Rich Revitalising Serum. Both of these contain rose absolute and coriander seed oil and other botanical ingredients ensuring the efficacy while also exuding a gentle and relaxing aroma during use

The first product in the set is the Midnight Beauty Rich Revitalising Serum. This contains ten essential oils and is void of any parabens and fillers. In addition to the rose and coriander oils, the serums are antioxidant rich with other oils like prickly pear, plum seed, jojoba, apricot seed, argan, evening primrose and macadamia. Together these work to regulate your skin’s oil production and the texture of your skin by hydrating and preventing signs of ageing.  Flower & Spice recommend using this alone at night-time by simply gently press about three pumps of the serum onto cleansed skin. However, If like one of our team, you have particularly dry skin we suggest using this Serum in tandem with the Soothe and Repair Daily moisturiser during the day.  Let the Serum sink into your skin before applying the moisturiser to lock-in the effects.

Next we tried was the Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturiser. While the rose absolute in the moisturiser provides an aromatherapy feel, other plant-based ingredients such as the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory coriander seed oil, grape seed oil, the rare prickly pear seed oil, aloe vera, rosewater and arctic oat extract all soothe, smooth and moisturise giving the skin a dewy, supple complexion. After cleansing skin, apply a generous amount of the moisturiser for day or night. This Rose & Coriander Travel/Discovery Set is perfect to use either individually or together with a layer effect depending on your skin type. Start your journey towards giving your skin a special relaxing treat by purchasing the duo set which contains a 30ml bottle of the Moisturiser and an 10ml bottle of the Serum here for £61.43 and if you purchase now you get 2 gifts offered!

Myrto Argan Bio Body Wash

Cold weather and dry skin go hand-in-hand, so it has been our mission here at The Amazing Blog to stop the cycle. It’s hard to resist a long hot shower or a bath when the weather is so currently dreary, Summer? What summer! So instead we have made it a point to find a bodycare regime that keeps our skin seriously hydrated. We were sent the Argan Bio Body Wash in Cassis Schizandra from Myrto  This is one of our favourite and most recent organic brands #amazingfinds  and our skin has never felt or looked better!

Most shower gels contain harsh ingredients that focus on cleansing, which often leaves our skin even drier than before.  We used the Argan Bio Body Wash because it uses mild amino acids that cleanse the skin, and are gentle enough to preserve and protect the skin lipid barrier without any use of irritating alcohols, preservatives, or emulsifiers. Instead, Myrto uses skin-loving ingredients like hand-pressed organic Argan oil, which instantly nourishes the skin. This is so gentle with a pH value of 5,0 to 5,5 that you can use it as a 2-in-1 product for both body and hair!

There are three different body washes that will cater to your specific skin needs. Both the Pomegranate and Cassis Schizandra Body Wash have been formulated to suit sensitive skin types. The Myrtle Tea Tree is perfect for sensitive skin that is prone to impurities, while still maintaining the skin’s moisture. Myrto also recommends this one to men with very short hair who want an all in one product.

All three of the Myrto Argan Body Washes are organic, vegan and come in two sizes: A 100ml size for £10.50 and a 500ml for £43.40 and you can purchase them both here.

Argan Organics - Regeneration Face Serum

Argan organics blog image

It is no secret that Argan Oil is one of the most loved and talked about products for hair. Keeping it soft and strong is the oil’s job, and people absolutely rave about it. We have pondered here at The Amazing Blog, what are the benefits of using Argan Oil on the face? We heard about a new UK based company called Argan Organics and were very lucky to be able to try their Regeneration Face Serum.

Argan Organics’ products are all based with Moroccan Argan Oil, which has fabulous anti-aging properties. It is also rich in Vitamin E, which is great for the health of our skin. The Regeneration Face Serum is a blend of oils: argan, rosehip, macadamia, evening primrose, and pumpkin. It is also packed with some wonderful essential oils: Bulgarian Rose absolute, Frankincense, lavender, chamomile, and geranium. The blending of all of these oils creates a formula that will work to help regain skin’s elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines. The minute I smelled the serum, I was in heaven. It smells very pure and natural, which is exactly what I want to be sniffing on my skin. Beyond the anti-aging properties, this is wonderful for people with dry-skin, which I do unfortunately have. You will want to use this serum nightly before bed, and the aroma will be sure to lull you into a pleasant sleep. It feels wonderful on the skin, and absorbs almost instantly. The best part is that this serum does not contain any parabens or SLS, which we all know are not kind to skin.

If you are interested in trying a lovely, natural face serum packed with skin-nurturing oils, Argan Organics is perfect for you. The face serum retails at £15.99 for 30 ml and is available on the Argan Organics website.

Kaé Argatherapie - L'Huile de Beaute

Since our first post on Argan Oils and its benefits, we've somehow felt drawn to finding more and more examples of fabulous products containing this so-called "liquid gold". Winter is already hitting London - women are already wearing their fabulous faux fur coats and stolls and men are looking great with their warm winter coats. We know that argan oil won't do anything for keeping you warm during this time of the year; however, your skin will thank you for that extra bit of care. So if your skin is already looking dull and feeling extra dry and tight, Kae Argatherapie might be a good brand to bear in mind in order to make your skin comfortable during this upcoming harsh winter.

At The Amazing Blog we've had the chance to Kae Argatherapie's Huile de Beaute (Beauty Oil) and once again, argan oil hasn't let us down. This Beauty Oil can be used on your face, your body and your hair. This organic argan oil prevents and reduces the signs of aging (not too concerned about that as I'm still in my early twenties...) and it also deeply nourishes and repairs the skin; which is perfect for my dehydrated skin. It also leaves a beautiful and flattering finish on the skin preventing the dullness of the colder months. Kae Argatherapie's Huile de Beaute can be used in many different ways; my favourite way to use it is mixing it with my hair mask - I add between 3 to 5 drops of this gold liquid to my mask, warm the mixture by rubbing my hands and leave it in for a good 20 minutes. My dry hair feels soft and silky after this intensive treatment.

We also had the chance to try their Beaute Scintillante, an organic dry oil that illuminates the tan and gives the skin a very pretty golden sheen. We've found this oil perfect for the summer and for those nights when you wear a short dress and want your legs to look fantastic.

The Amazing Blog can't recommend the use of oils on the skin enough (even if your skin is oily!), but only good oils. Stay away from harsh chemicals, sulfates, soaps, parabens and mineral oils. You should get to know your skin and its needs depending on the weather and where you live; and after that, start creating your own "skincare wardrobe", with products that rotate depending on your needs. Your skin will thank you for that extra effort and investment!

Kae Argatherapie's Huile de Beaute can be purchased on their website for £34.00.

House of Argan - Argan Seasoning Oil

Cosmetic companies jumped into the bandwagon of argan oil more than a year ago - many brands have enriched their formulas with this gold liquid that everybody seems to be talking about, whether because it nourishes your hair like nothing else or just because it's a dream for those with dry skin. However, if someone ever told me that Argan oil could be used as a dressing oil, I simply wouldn't believe it... perhaps because the cosmetic side of it is the only one consumers reach to see. House of Argan has made me realise that Argan oil is a real all rounder when I tried their Argan Seasoning Oil as a salad dressing!

House of Argan's Seasoning Oil is 100% cold pressed edible Argan Oil made with no preservatives - it contains double the vitamins of ordinary olive oil and it's Certified Organic. Its taste is quite nutty which makes it ideal for using as a salad dressing and for seasoning meat and fish - you should note that Argan oil loses its nutritional benefits once heated so for best results it should be used in cold dishes or after cooking, before serving. One of the things that caught our attention of this oil was its runny and light consistency which in my case, helped me digest it more easily.

Argan Oil is packed with goodness; the high level of Linoleic Acid - an essential fatty acid - helps to improve the heart and circulatory function. One tablespoon a day of this oil is an effective and natural method of keeping cholesterol levels under control and helping prevent heart disease too. Moreover, and as we all well know because of the way it's marketed,  it regenerates the skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It also assists in the treatment of skin conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema, Rosacea and Acne. At The Amazing Blog we love multipurpose products, and now it seems that the coveted by beauty experts gold liquid is one of them; not only can it make you look amazing, but it can make you feel amazing too!

If you want to have a look at the full range of products by House of Argan (cosmetic and non-cosmetic) and purchase their organic and natural products, visit their website. The Argan Seasoning Oil retails at £28.75.
