CBD infused tea review

Eden's Gate: CBD English Breakfast Tea, and CBD Chamomile Tea

Edensgate.jpg

If you’re like us and reach out for a pick-me-up mid-afternoon, then keep reading on. This is when tea is our preferred drink of choice, and at The Amazing Blog, a comforting cuppa is just the ticket. Regular readers will know that we're big fans of all things hemp and CBD, and today, we're introducing to you another of our #amazingfinds with these refreshing and delicious CBD-infused teas from Eden's Gate.

Eden's Gate is a family-run British business established by Tyler Woodward in 2018. Apart from their own brand, they are also an online store that supplies various CBD brands and products. Fueled by his love for nature and all of its remedies, Tyler launched Eden's Gate sharing his passion for effective and safe CBD products that provide all of nature's benefits without using any synthetic compounds. Tyler told us, "We strive for clarity, whether it's the CBD itself, production methods or the knowledge of our users. We're not hiding anything - transparency is key!" This is where Eden's Gate provides clear and detailed information on all of its products. They are also triple batch tested with lab test certification for each one. In addition, they pride themselves on being ‘from seed to shelf’ and are GMO and cruelty-free, and contain high-quality, broad-spectrum CBD sourced from the most reputable US hemp farms that have organic plants grown without pesticides. Eden's Gate uses CBD that is extracted through super-critical CO2 extraction. In this process, carbon dioxide (CO2) pressure and temperature are manipulated until it's in a liquid-gas form known as ‘super-critical liquid’. The method allows Eden's Gate to safely extract only the purest CBD while leaving behind bi-products such as THC, waxes, and chlorophylls. This resulting CBD is solvent-free, meaning that no extra compounds or chemicals are involved in the extraction process, making this CBD environmentally friendly too!  They are quick to point out that they use their own equipment and oversee every aspect of production without any 3rd party involvement.

We were sent two of Eden's Gate's CBD teas to try, the first being their CBD English Breakfast Tea with 300mg of CBD. Each tea bag contains 20mg of broad-spectrum CBD combined with black tea, resulting in a rich tea with a full-bodied English Breakfast black tea. Eden's Gate uses unbleached tea bags made from cellulose fibres, meaning that they don't contain chemicals like dioxin or microplastics like polypropylene that are harmful to both your body and the environment. Being  broad-spectrum CBD means that it has no detectable THC levels, but does have dozens of the different isolates and terpenes naturally found in the hemp. We imagine that the broad-spectrum CBD here will be a water-soluble CBD distillate (Eden’s Gate, please correct us if we’re wrong!) ideal for infusing into beverages. It also makes use of the "entourage effect", as these compounds help the CBD work better, so you're getting all the goodness of the hemp plant without the THC. The tea leaf becomes black tea and gets its dark colour from a lengthy oxidation and fermentation process. The tea leaves and picked, and then left to dry where they are either rolled and cut and left the oxidise. It’s a process that helps to develop the flavour and aroma changing the colour from green to brown. Let's not forget that black tea itself also has a long list of benefits; it contains antioxidants that decrease the risk of chronic disease, boost heart health, reduce blood pressure, and improve alertness and focus. So when combined together with the CBD it helps to provide reduced stress and anxiety and a whole host of other benefits too. The process of brewing CBD Tea also allows your body to ingest more of the CBD than other forms like drops so that you can get the same intense effects with a smaller dosage. All we did was place a teabag in freshly boiled water, brew for 3-6 minutes and added oat milk. it has a good rich flavour of English Breakfast tea, but it does take a little longer to infuse than a regular black tea, but well worth the wait! What does it taste like? Well, like black tea, but very mild with the slightest hint of fruitiness from the hemp. Delicious and great for keeping away those mid- afternoon blues! It is pricey compared to your everyday cuppa, so we tended to drink this as and when. To purchase the English Breakfast Tea 300mg here at £16.99 for 15 bags.

The second tea we tried was the CBD Chamomile Tea 300mg. Each unbleached tea bag contains chamomile sourced from the Nile River Valley in Egypt, lemon balm, and again 20mg of broad-spectrum CBD, so you're still getting the same complete CBD health benefits as the English Breakfast Tea mentioned above. Chamomile tea is thought to reduce inflammation and menstrual pain, slow down osteoporosis and lower blood sugar. We general drink chamomile tea to help with sleep and relaxation. So what could be better than getting the amplifying relaxation effect when the two are combined here! The chamomile flower is not alone; the lemon balm also has mood-boosting properties and improves cognitive function, turning this into quite a potent mix. Again, recommended brewing between 3-6 minutes like the CBD Black Tea. Since Chamomile tea doesn't become bitter if you leave the teabag in it for too long, we steeped it for up to 6 minutes to fully reap all the benefits and enjoy its sweet floral (no hemp taste) chamomile and lemon-y flavour. It’s the perfect choice for a nighttime cuppa, and sent us swiftly off into the land of nod. To purchase the CBD Chamomile Tea 300mg see here at £16.99 for 15 bags.

Hempura: 250mg Revitalise CBD Cream with Terepenes

As regular readers will know, we love to introduce new CBD products on The Amazing Blog (see here), and If you're looking for a natural alternative to help muscle or joint fatigue, CBD might just be the answer. Today we’re featuring the brand Hempura who we recently reviewed here. However, this time it’s with their newly repackaged 250 mg Revitalise CBD cream clinically proven to repair, restore and soothe the skin.

Founder Lewis Hadaway created Hempura in 2017 with the idea of educating consumers on CBD and providing high-quality authentic hemp extract. His passion for CBD made this brand what it is today - one of the more established premium CBD brands in the UK. They aim to provide the most natural and healthiest CBD products and extracts the UK has to offer. Hadaway commented recently in Cannabis Health News, "We empower our customers to make informed decisions. This reduces concerns and fears, especially for seniors." One thing that consumers love about Hempura is that they are all-natural, never adding ingredients that are unnecessary or artificial, compared to some other CBD brands. In order to ensure confidence in consumers, Hempura tests all products to the highest standards of safety with lab certificates. Never using synthetically derived CBD, pesticides or additives makes their products the best for all-natural lovers. The best full-bodied CBD products come from using a clean extraction process that preserves the natural hemp each plant has to offer. Hempura guarantees this by using all raw cannabidiol plants locally sourced at an Eastern European organic farm that ensures the quality of naturally occurring minerals. Hempura sells products like vape liquids, edibles, capsules, creams, or oils - all products are GMO-free and vegan. Making this brand a member of the Vegan Society and Cannabis Trade Association. This brand's love for nature shows with their sustainability efforts. All productions of hemp and products are protective of the environment, whether that's by using eco-friendly packaging made from recycled materials, using renewable energy that maintains a commitment to carbon neutrality or creating as little waste as possible. Hempura is one brand that believes in true principles and proves it with its efforts of providing exceptional CBD products.

Hempura's 250mg Revitalise CBD Cream has 250mg of broad-spectrum refined extract CBD per bottle and 1.1mg of CBD per pump. Recently repackaged in an eco-friendly glass jar with a sustainable bamboo lid, this topical cream contains refined hemp extract and natural high antioxidant properties that repairs and restores the skin. The cream is luxurious and rich, perfect for soothing the skin, plus it’s in a base of hydrating cocoa butter and olive oil. We find that CBD cream and balms are good to help ease hand and elbow pain (over typing!) or even rubbing on temples to stop a headache. Some of their customers even say this cream eliminated lasting redness on the skin and have seen results within weeks. It is lab-tested, giving clinically proven results, and made with organically grown industrial hemp. CBD creams applied to the body work by CBD molecules bypassing cutaneous receptors activating neurotransmitters that block signals for pain. Other key ingredient in this cream is terpenes and flavonoids, commonly found in herbs, fruits, and plants, and is used to help the cream penetrate the skin more effectively. High in antioxidant properties and phytonutrients, they also have other medical benefits like antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and helps prevent inflammatory diseases. We are great believers in CBD as an excellent option for people looking for alternative medicine for pain relief, and it’s something we use on a regular basis. We recommend a topical cream as a good first step to start exploring the power of CBD. This 250 mg CBD cream is perfect for all adult age groups especially those looking for an all-natural topical cream to soothe over exercised limbs. This product can be used any time of the day, but we particularly recommend using it after a long hard work out to achieve optimum muscle relaxation i.e. resulting in little or no soreness the following day. To purchase this 50ml Revitalise CBD Cream in 250mg for £23.99 see here, or if you would like to go for a stronger version of 50ml Revitalise CBD Cream in 500mg see here for £39.99.

Hempura:  Hemp Tea in Natural Raspberry

hempura.jpg

As regular readers will know, at The Amazing Blog, we’re big fans of CBD (see here) mainly because of the numerous benefits it provides, especially the calming effect, which is much needed during these uncertain times. We always try to seek out new and more unusual CBD products to introduce you to, and today we’re featuring another CBD infused tea, but this time it’s Hempura’s Hemp Tea in Natural Raspberry, which has no THC and a more summery and fruitier flavour.

Hempura is a British brand launched in 2016 by Lewis Hadaway.  Passionate about CBD, he quit his job in nuclear project management to set up this CBD brand, Hempura, where even today, he is still very much hands-on. In this over-crowded and confusing world of CBD, Lewis wants to help inform and educate the consumer, providing us with high-quality authentic hemp extract CBD productswhich are 100% traceable from seed to shelf. Hempura imports their raw cannabidiol from organic farms in Eastern Europe, where they use an advanced ethanol extraction method, for Hempura, they feel that this ensures the preservation of the naturally occurring terpenes, flavonoids, cannabinoids, nutrients and minerals present. Every batch produced is automatically sent to an approved third-party laboratory for complete analysis. Lewis recently commented, “We build relationships with our customers because CBD is a lifelong product.” He went on to say, “We empower our customers to make informed decisions. This reduces concerns and fears, especially for seniors.” The Hempura range consists of vapes, topicals, edibles and CBD Oils. The Original (full-spectrum) and the Refined (broad-spectrum) CBD oils contain the same amount of CBD. However, the Original contains all the natural hemp components (including the accepted amount of less than 0.05% THC) without the refinement of the broad-spectrum. There 10ml CBD Oil bottles with approximately 200 drops in each, and a strength starting from 250ml (2.5%) cannabidiol up to 1000mg (10%). The brand has been members of the Vegan Society since July 2019 (except the chocolates due to dairy) and all products are GMO free.

We originally wanted to try their CBD infused chocolate but, alas, these were out of stock. So, as it’s now summer, we thought trying this Hemp Tea in Natural Raspberry instead. Although THC-free, it’s still rich in natural terpenes and all-natural ingredients found in hemp and has 5% or 5mg of CBD (we think…from lab report) per tea bag. Let’s look at the ingredients. This has 100% organically grown hemp made with hemp leaves with no herbicides or pesticides. They say it’s free of additives (or not as the case may be!) We couldn’t quite understand why there is a ‘trace of propylene glycol’ here?! There are also dried raspberries with the addition of natural raspberry flavouring. Raspberries, themselves provide vitamin C with a small amount of vitamin A, thiamine (B1) and riboflavin (B2). Moving onto the potent terpenes found in this hemp CBD tea. With limonene, A-pinene, B-pinene and citral these have a hugely beneficial effect on the gut, intestine and also help to regulate blood pressure, see here. These combined are also known to help sleep and inflammation and studies have also shown that these terpenes can produce an antidepressant-like effect. We prepared the tea using one tea bag in the cup, and let it steep for about 5 minutes, until the tea was a glorious berry colour (see above photo). What we liked was that this had a robust and fruity taste, a far more complex and in-depth flavour than that of a regular fruit tea or plain hemp CBD tea. We think it’s ideal for the caffeine sensitive, or for those wanting a warming and fruity drink at night to help them relax and sleep. With 20 tea bags, weighing in at 11g, you can purchase the Hempura Hemp Tea in Natural Raspberry here for £9.99.
