Coconut Water - Genuine Coconut

Missing the summer weather already? A holiday to Thailand without the cost; well it’s not quite a holiday but when we at The Amazing Blog tried the Genuine Coconut we felt transported to a tropical island instantly.

If you’ve already tried various Coconut water brands, we’re sure you’re aware of the benefits to keep your body running like a smooth well-watered machine, helping with digestive problems and improving energy levels, but don’t assume they’re all the same! Most people are aware that coconut water contains Lauric acid and Cytokinins which are natural components helping minimise the aging of skin cells, gifting you a natural, healthy glow.

Genuine Coconut is different from other brands as you’re able to drink the Coconut water from an actual Coconut, meaning the taste is original and authentic whilst being left feeling revitalised. The quality within the production standards at Genuine Coconut means the Coconuts are certified organic and have never been genetically modified resulting in the best Coconut flavour and quality.

The Genuine Coconut uses the NAM HOM variety of Coconuts from a specific area in Thailand, this type is special and unique, and the Coconuts are high quality-known for their particular fragrance, freshness and sweetness.

Cocofina

We girls at The Amazing Blog know the importance of staying hydrated. But whether you're a self-confessed gym bunny, are keeping cool during the (occasional) spells of sunshine or simply sipping fluids on a day-to-day basis, sometimes water just doesn't cut it. Yes, it's good for you; but while it might flushes out toxins and keep skin glowing, it tastes kind of bland right?

Thankfully, we recently came across Cocofina Coconut Juice, whose special properties put H20 to shame. Cocofina Coconut Juice or Coconut Water is the clear liquid found within young green coconuts. As the name suggest its made from the finest small coconuts at their water ready peak hence the name 'Cocofina'. What is special about these coconut water drinks is their infusions. We loved all the different flavour combinations of  Cocofina Coconut Juice with Pineapple and Lime (very zesty and refreshing), the Cocofina Coconut with Apple and Blueberry (deliciously fruity) and their Cocofina Coconut with Tea and Passionfruit (aromatic and sweet).

Many people don't realise that coconut juice is one of nature's superfluids, and with such an acolade comes a huge amount of health benefits. Cocofina is naturally isotonic, meaning that it rehydrates faster than water and is naturally low in both fat and cholesterol, with no added sugar. In addition it's a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin B2, Potassium, Iron, Calcium and Magnesium.

With a refreshing, fruity taste and so packed with goodness, Cocofina has become The Amazing Blog's favourite new drink and it's no surprise that it won Gold in the Soft Drink category at the Excellence In Food And Drink Awards! Oh, and finally - it's brilliant for hangovers having been tried and tested by staff at The Amazing Blog - so certainly a must have in this office!

Juiceology

How many times have you tried to experiment with a new type of healthy drink only to come away disappointed? You attempt to be healthy and try fruit and vegetable juices but they end up tasting awful.  Having been through a plethora of allegedly healthy juices, I almost gave up hope on finding a  drink that was good for me as well as delicious. That was until a box of Juiceology arrived at The Amazing Blog  - yes and we all agree that each of the four flavours is everybit as good as the last!

The juices created by Juiceology are all natural and don't contain any artificial sugars or preservatives. The taste of these juices comes from the blend of juice, purees, herbs, natural botanical extracts, and spring water. For additional health benefits, Juiceology has included a multitude of antioxidants as well as milk thistle to all of their drinks.  I tried the apple, lime, and mint which was absolutely delicious. The flavour of apple combined with the citrus taste of the lime blended perfectly with the subtle hint of mint at the end.  Their other flavours are mandarin, ginger, and cardamom, lychee, berry, and basil, and coconut water and white guava and the gang at The Amazing Blog are certainly looking forward to drinking our way through them - in fact we think that with a quick dash of vodka they'd be rather nice too...  So, if you, too, are in need of a healthy thirst-quencher more exciting than water, give Juiceology a try, available online priced at £14.99 for 12 bottles.

Hydrate naturally!

My new favourite drink of choice is Vita Coco. Made from 100% natural coconut water which is taken from young, green, healthy coconuts, this refreshing and tropical tasting drink takes me back to the beaches of Thailand where I would sip on this delicious water straight from the young coconuts daily. Although I’m not known for being particularly sporty I’m told that coconut water is the ultimate post-workout drink as it is extremely hydrating and contains 15 times the electrolytes found in sports drinks (this also makes it ideal for hangovers!) It is also fat free and cholesterol free with no added sugar making it much healthier than normal energy drinks. Pure coconut water also has numerous other health benefits including keeping the body cool,  boosting circulation, easing stomach pains, balancing your body's pH level, detoxifying the body and boosting the immune system as well as promoting weight loss.

I love the original version but for those people that need something a bit sweeter, Vita Coco also comes in several flavoured varieties such as peach and mango and acai and pomegranate which are all made using natural fruit purees to flavour them.

Vita Coco is available from Waitrose, Holland & Barrett, Whole Foods and Planet Organic.
