Brownie Box

  blog

Who can resist a nice, rich and 'chocolatey' brownie?  Well... we here at The Amazing Blog certainly can't. So when we came across the Brownie Box we knew we had hit the jackpot. This cosy family-run bakery is located right in the heart of Earl's Court off Brompton Road.  They offer brownies, cakes, muffins and cupcakes that are each baked fresh daily with a range of flavours that vary from day-to-day.  All of these delights are clearly prepared with care and detail ensuring that each tastes just as good as it looks.

The incredible Brownie Box team was ever so kind and delivered us our very own sample box. The assortment was beautiful and included just enough treats for all of us to try several varieties each. The wide array had incredible flavours such as the original brownie, the peanut butter chocolate blondie, the white chocolate chunk blondie, and the pistachio chocolate brownie as well as many others.  I think the best way to describe all these different cakes and desserts is by simply saying that we finished off every bit within 15 minutes of receiving them - no joke. They were quite literally irresistible. The textures were fabulous as each was moist and sweet without being too sugary or soggy. It was obvious that each treat was fresh. Plus, they all tasted like they were made by our own mothers, which makes sense as each recipe has been handed down by moms from generation to generation. While it's merely impossible to decide on a favourite treat, the group consensus is that the original brownie and the red velvet cupcake were two of the best. But honestly, there wasn't a single treat that was disappointing.

Being in Chelsea we are fortunate enough to be just down the road from the Brownie Box. If you are in the area, stopping by this gourmet baking boutique is a definite must. They are open Monday - Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 8pm and Sunday from 10am to 7am. There really is no excuse to pass this place up, their hours and location are far too convenient. And for those upcoming summer birthdays and celebrations, they offer luxurious fresh baked cakes as well. Get your own delicious indulgences from Brownie Box and check out their website for a complete list all treats, flavours, and cakes.

This year the UK’s largest pet showcase is right around the corner for us at Earl's Court in London. The showcase will feature animals from dogs and cats to royal pythons and micro pigs - although I'll be sure to stay far away from the snakes. The show will be broken up into four different sections: Discover Dogs, Discover Cats, Discover Animals, and Discover Small Furries. Featuring elaborate demonstrations and luxurious animals, each section is sure to provide a one of a kind experience.

The section that I'll be spending the most time at will be the Discover Dog zone - of course! And with over 50 dog breeds and a programmed event every hour it'll be quite difficult to pull me away . These dogs will be dancing around on stage, playing a fast-paced game of flyball, and showing off their skills in the agility obstacle course.

The kids will love the new “Pony Paddock” area where they can braid their mane and learn about the different types of ponies the showcase offers. Riders can also learn how to use the equipment and tools involved in caring for their pony as well as mounting, dismounting and maintaining balance on The Pony Club’s special mechanical horse. So spend time with family, friends, fellow pet lovers and some exotic animals this weekend at The London Pet Show. Tickets are on sale online for £14 for adults and £9.50 for children over five years old. Family and senior tickets are also available.

Evans and Peel Detective Agency

Bringing the 1920’s to your doorstep. At Amazing PR we love to experience a new place to kick back our feet and relax. What could be better than experiencing a sexy and scandalous speakeasy in West London? When arriving at Evans and Peel Detective Agency, you are greeted by a detective who takes you down a small staircase to their agency office. Here you have to ‘state your case’ and include the details of why you are here and what your concerns are at this time.

After they listen to your story and ask you a few general questions; they will open a hidden door by pulling a dusty book out of the bookcase and travel back in time…

Once inside the speakeasy everything comes to life from the 1920’s. The detective leads you into a dimly lit, soft spoken bar and restaurant. The waitresses and bartenders all play their own role. Before taking your orders they make sure that you understand the rules so that no one gets in trouble by the police, in case they stop by or hear loud voices. The exposed bricks and the old white tiles give the speakeasy an old-fashioned look. If you sit at the bar you will notice that the bar is constructed from old church pews and each table is old wooden tables that are small to give off an intimate atmosphere.

From the role play to the surreptitious nature of Evans and Peel Detective Agency, you can’t go wrong. With this intimate atmosphere and soft music, this is the perfect place to have a romantic night with that special someone. Surprise your plus one and take them back to the 1920’s and have an evening you won’t forget about.
