Lipstick - Uslu Airlines

With the sun out in full force today, all of us here at The Amazing Blog are in the holiday mood.Unfortunately fo us, holidays are a long way off, but that's not going to dampen anyone's mood as we are sampling Uslu Airlines fun airport-inspired lipstick line. Renowned makeup artist Ferdie Uslu founded the brand and adopted the airport motif after creating her first line around airbrush makeup techniques.  Working with air inspired the brand to name their products after airport codes, giving them a playful cosmopolitan feel, which perfectly reflects the brands exciting and distinctive image.

Each lipstick has a unique shade that embodies the destination they are named after. For example, the pink AMM lipstick is named after the AMM airport in Jordan, which was itself named after Queen Alia. Going into a work meeting with this elegant, reserved and natural pink shade on will make you feel like a queen too. Meanwhile, the dark-plum PAO lipstick mirrors Palo Alto, the edgy home of countless trendy tech companies. What we love about these lipsticks are the different looks you can achieve with them. Apply one layer for a tinted, subtle day look and add a few more layers for a richer, bolder evening look. The versatility means that you only have to carry one lipstick around with you, and if you're a lipstick addict like we are, this is a big plus.

What's more, Uslu Airlines’ lipstick line is cruelty-free and contains Vitamin E, which acts as a repairing oxidant meaning that as well as making your lips look gorgeous, it nourishes them too; this is a far cry from the often drying nature of other mainstream lipsticks. The company is based in Berlin, so, unfortunately, all the product prices are in Euro's, but fear not you can use PayPal to purchase these amazing lipsticks.  Prepare for take-off by choosing from Uslu Airlines’ lipstick line here from about £21.00.

Timeless Travel Pack - Timeless Truth Masks

Here at The Amazing Blog, we know how damaging travelling can be to your skin. No matter how good you may look when you leave, by the time you have reached your destination your skin is dull, dried-out and tired. Luckily, though, we have a solution. Timeless Truth Masks presents the Timeless Truth Travel Pack which will have your skin back to its beautiful self in no time at all.

The Travel Pack is cleverly designed for any travel needs, featuring an innovative 3-in-1 system. As the pack contains three compartments, you can either pick and choose what you think your skin might need, or follow all the steps; it is really up to you.

The first section is an oil-based makeup remover, making it incredibly easy to take off any and all makeup on your face, lips and eye (and yes, that includes waterproof makeup.) It does this while deeply cleaning pores, so your skin once again feels light and fresh. The second compartment is a deep cleanser with exfoliating ingredients, all of which help to soften and lift the dead skin off the face, leaving your skin feeling radiant and soft.  Finally, you are ready for the final step: Timeless Truth’s “Hydra-Soothing Moisturising Bemliese Mask.” The silk fibre nourishing mask helps retain moisture in the face’s tissues due to the hyaluronic acid it contains.  Overall, this tiny little packet will help your skin feel normal and beautiful again, and won't take up any space in your bag. What more could you want?

If this sounds like the solutions to your tired skin and travelling woes you can purchase the pack here for £8.90.

Here at The Amazing Blog, we know it’s important to protect them, so we’re excited to treat them to Lychee Sorbet – Travel Hand Creams and Lip Balm by Heathcote & Ivory for Accessorize.

Cailyn Cosmetics - O! Wow Brush

Here at The Amazing Blog, we're always excited to try things that are a little more unorthodox. So when the Cailyn Cosmetics O! Wow Brush landed on our desks, we were intrigued by the innovative design. The toothbrush style tool looks a little odd, but we were keen to experiment with the inventive tool.

With densely packed ultra fine fibres, the brush is made to ensure an airbrushed effect with a streak-free finish. The brush features an oval and angular surface that is crafted to blend liquid, cream and powder foundation or blush seamlessly into your skin. The flexible tilted handle is designed to reach every contour with precision and offers an easy and stable grip.

Admittedly, I found the brush a little difficult to use. I couldn't quite perfect the smooth streak-free finish we were promised with liquid foundation. I'm so used to using fingers to blend that I couldn't really get on board with the dense bristles. However, for those of you who opt for brushes and sponges to apply a base, we think it would be the perfect addition to your brush collection. It did fare better for blending in concealer after I had tapped it in with fingers, so for me, I think I'll be repurposing the brush for pinpoint blending in future. Also, its petite size makes the brush perfectly suited to travel, as the tightly packed bristles are not likely to become misshapen in your make-up bag.

Although we didn't love the brush for its main purpose, we do think that it's worth the investment, especially if you like to be on the forefront of make-up innovation. You can purchase the travel friendly make-up brush here for £20.

Effitan - Insect Repellent

I'm sure we are all familiar with insect bitesand how annoying they are - particularly at this time of year. We at The Amazing Blog are always on the look out for good quality and natural insect repellents, to keep the bugs at bay! So when we stumbled on Effitan Insect Repellent we were intrigued to see if it was the one for us. Effitan is just that - a spray that helps prevent bites from mosquitoes, ticks, and horse flies.

Effitan Insect Repellent protects effectively against mosquitoes for up to 8 hours, and against ticks for up to 6 hours. This is 2 hours longer than the best selling market competitor, and being DEET free, it is suitable for use when pregnant or on infants and children. It is ideal for any climate and it delivers natural, but highly effective protection. We were also pleased to note that Effitan did not leave a sticky or uncomfortable feeling our skin, which is rare in insect repellent. The citrus fragrance it has was fresh, pleasant, and light enough to not clash with cologne or your chosen fragrance. Now that we have found a great insect repellent we can start planning our next holiday to warmer climes!

You can get a 100 ml bottle of Effitan Insect Repellent for just £10.75 from their UK distributor here.
