Cheerful Buddha: Naturally Flavoured CBD Drops

cheerfulbuddha.jpg

As we at The Amazing PR  are fervent supporters of CBD, we thought we’d share with you some more THC-free products that we’ve recently tried. Taking CBD oil sublingually is one of our favourite ways to ingest it because it’s a fast and easy way for the body to absorb all the goodness. The Cheerful Buddha CBD drops that we’re featuring today, taste absolutely delicious with naturally flavoured Peppermint or Chocolate & Hazelnut. We had to keep reminding ourselves not to overdose!

Cheerful Buddha was recently founded in 2019, and is one of the few UK based CBD companies offering home produced, manufactured and tested products. The hemp is grown by one of the country’s rare Home Office licensed Sativa growers. The founder and CEO of the company, Claudia Marcela Guevara Gonzalez explained more about the brand in an interview for Natural Products online: “We have worked tirelessly to create a stylish and superior product that steps above the hippy stereotypes of the cannabis plant. Cheerful Buddha embodies the scientifically proven health and wellbeing benefits that CBD naturally brings.” Being able to spread positivity and promote feelings of well-being, and inner peace is what motivates Claudia, who by her own admission is a quite spiritual person who identifies with the Buddhist principles of peace, love, and positive existence. The brand carries a whole range of CBD-infused coffee, drops, and chocolates, so it’s easy to find a CBD product that suits. All of these are broad-spectrum and offer the entourage effect with their terpenes, flavonoids, and waxes, but THC free nevertheless. The cannabidiol is extracted through a high standard critical CO2 extraction and of course, to guarantee top quality and respect of dosage restrictionsall batches are third-party laboratory tested here in the UK, and the results are made available directly on Cheerful Buddha’s website here. The hemp-derived CBD oils are also all gluten-free, non-GMO, organic and lactose-free. We think that transparency is key when purchasing any CBD products.

In the Cheerful Buddha Naturally Flavoured CBD Dropsthe carrier oil is MCT oil, which is the best carrier for cannabidiol, as it is sustainable – no deforestation required like that of palm oil. Also, more importantly, it allows faster absorption of the product and does not affect the amount of CBD ingested. This allows the body to fully benefit from the percentage of CBD present in the oil, which is about 500mg per 10ml bottle. These oils not only contain cannabinoids including CBD, CBN, CBL, and CBCVA, but also the aromatic cannabis terpenes like pinene and limonene. In addition, they contain a wide variety of other healthy constituents such as the vitamins B1, B2 and D, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, trace minerals zinc, calcium and magnesium. The best part is, that for those of you who want to benefit from CBD’s many positive effects but cannot stand the hemp taste, these drops are available both in Peppermint, and Chocolate & Hazelnut flavours. The flavours and sensations are different: The Chocolate & Hazelnut tastes chocolatey, sweet, well-rounded and absolutely de-li-cious! While the Peppermint one has a creamy smooth mild minty taste which leaves a freshness. Overall we found that these two oils did their job, and helped to take the edge off the day with their dose 500g of CBD in 10ml. We loved both but we’d have to say that we did have a preference for the yummy taste of the Chocolate & Hazelnut drops. Why not try these to help you find your inner calm with either of these two Naturally Flavoured CBD Drops which are available for £34.95 right here.

Essench CBD Cosmetics - Intense Hair Serum

CBD.jpg

Summer means humidity, which is not always compatible with our hair! We start the day with beautifully straight hair, which when we step outside, miraculously transforms into an uncontrollable bundle of frizz! Oh yes, we at The Amazing Blog know this situation only too well and in our search to find new ways of dealing with our hair, we decided to try this Intense Hair Serum from Essench CBD Cosmetics. We prefer hair serums that are oil-based as they stop the frizz and also hydrate the scalp. We’re not fans of silicone-based hair serums as they only coat the hair to enhance shine; whereas oil can actually penetrate the hair fibres and feed the scalp follicles to restore and repair the hair on a long-term basis.

Essench CBD Cosmetics started in 2019 and is a small family-run CBD business. They are an artisan brand that provides top quality natural products that are handcrafted with their own unique formulas including CBD. The company was created by Christina and her fiancé Jenny, who wanted to produce products that make a difference in peoples’ everyday lives.  After having struggled with endometriosis, Christina turned to CBD which has helped to turn her life around. Ever since she made a promise to raise awareness around both CBD and the medical condition of endometriosis. The company sources its CBD in the purest form from Holland and Germany. It is THC-free and extracted by C02 method. They use ‘CBD distillate’ in their oral oils, which is a highly refined cannabis extract often derived from hemp flower and hemp biomass. CBD distillate typically contains around 80% CBD with the balance including minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant oils and extracts. Otherwise, in their skincare, they use ‘CBD isolates’ which contain only CBD in its purest form with no other terrapenes or cannabinoids. Currently, they have 100% biodegradable packaging on their bath bombs and aim to have all their other containers and packages completely green by the end of 2022They are also actively involved campaigning with Seed The Future that is a pressure group that aims to get the government to tell the truth and abandon the unsubstantiated and unfounded laws and regulations surrounding cannabis.

We've already featured many different CBD products here, and as regular readers will know, we’re big fans of this natural ingredient. Let’s do a quick recap for those of you new to CBD. Many people think CBD will get you high like cannabis, however, that’s far from the truth. The natural ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) used in products here in the UK, is only allowed to contain a limited amount of up to 0.02% of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is one of many compounds found in the resin secreted by glands of the marijuana plant. Other compounds unique to marijuana, are called cannabinoids, one of these is CBD which is nonpsychoactive and according to studies actually blocks the high associated with THC. CBD works with your endocannabinoid system which is exceptionally effective in dealing with anxiety, depression, pain, inflammation, improving sleep. Not only that but we also like CBD in skincare for its effectiveness in fighting acne and treating eczema and psoriasis.

The product we want to talk to you about today has earned its spot among the finalists in the World CBD 2019 Awards in Barcelona for Innovation  – as Innovative Award Finalist, the Intense Hair Serum- 250mg CBD. The 250mg of CBD  here is isolate (see above paragraph). As discussed, CBD oil has many known benefits like pain and inflammation reduction, and it also encourages a sense of well-being and calmness. But did you know that CBD oil is also beneficial for your scalp and hair? CBD oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids that will nourish the scalp and consequently strengthens the hair and encourage growth. Therefore, CBD is ideal for people suffering from hair loss. Inside the cannabidiol, the fatty acids are omega-3, 6, and 9 which will moisturise and feed the scalp. CBD oil contains abundant amounts of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and vitamin E – which is a natural anti-inflammatory, which makes it ideal for common scalp conditions like psoriasis or folliculitis. It also balances your scalp's natural production of sebum, whether it was too much or too little.  CBD works as an adaptogen and is excellent for all hair types as it regulates sebum production. CBD will increase the elasticity, volume and shine of your hair because of the lipids. This Intense Hair Serum also contains jojoba oil which is an excellent remedy for dandruff.  Jojoba is rich in vitamins and minerals that will support the hair, with vitamin CB and Ecopper, and zinc all of which fortify and thickens it. This serum blend also contains castor oil, a remedy long used in traditional medicine which is said to stimulate the scalp, ease dandruff, and leave your hair smooth and shiny. Rich in olive oil it will help to alleviate itchiness or scalp irritation. The Intense Hair Serum smells of rosemary, which is different from other CBD based hair products which usually smell of hemp. The rosemary oil in the blend makes it very appealing as a scent and will also fight hair loss together with the added horsetail oil. They do this by improving the blood circulation in the scalp which in turn improves the condition of the scalp and the individual hair follicles stimulating hair regrowth. Finally, the nettle leaf oil here is loaded with protein, fibre, fats, vitamins A, B, C and K and minerals such as calcium, silica, magnesium and iron. All these work together to shield and protect the hair from free radicals and strengthen the blood vessels, which means that the follicles will receive more nutrients and oxygen, resulting in better hair growth.  I have used the whole 30ml bottle, which lasted for two or three hair massages (I have long wavy hair) and found that it left my hair with no frizz (unusual!) and super-smooth and shiny. For me, it worked as a wonderful hair treatment with the added bonus of rehydrating and calming my slightly itchy scalp Essench CBD advises massaging the Serum gently into the scalp and leaving for about 10 minutes then combing through so all hair is coated evenly. Leave it in for a minimum of 1 -2 hours then wash thoroughly. Repeat 2 times per week or as desired. We’d highly recommend this for your fight against frizz, it’s one of our top summer #amazingfinds, to purchase your Intensive Hair Serum 30ml for £20, see here.

Budslife – CBD Patches

budslife.jpg

The girls at The Amazing Blog are big fans of all things CBD and have finally persuaded me to try some. What harm can there be, I thought, only good things can come from the wonderous hemp plant. I think I would be right in saying that many of us have been feeling a little stressed with the possibility of yet another lockdown and the current uncertainty – so something to potentially ‘take the edge off’ was most welcome. I didn’t want to take any of the sublingual CBD (I’m not good at ingesting things that taste a bit strange!) So they found me the perfect solution with some rather innovative skin patches – yes, patches! They’re the newly launched CBD patches by Budslife which are scent-free, flavourless and easy to use – just unpeel and stick it onto clean skin – et voila!

Budslife founder Shaun Williams came up with the CBD patches concept at the time when his daughter was going to university. She was about to face new challenges all alone, and that’s when her stress and anxiety kicked in. Instead of taking pills and medications, Shaun came up with the idea to create these CBD patches, which helped her cope to feel more relaxed and focused; which is when he realised that many others could also benefit from these CBD patches.

These CBD patches come in a box with two silver foil sachets (eight patches to the sachet). Budslife sources their Full-Spectrum and 0% THC CBD from Holland, which is then impregnated into the patches which are made up of pressure-sensitive medical glue and penetration enhancers (antioxidant, hydrocarbon C5 / C9 and copolymer). The patches have a slow release of over 8-10 hours with each patch being infused with 16g of CBD. They are designed to release safe and measured levels of CBD throughout the time of wearing. Conveniently this could be night or day (I preferred to stick my patch on at night) where they are absorbed trans-dermallyThis is thought to be quicker to get than into the bloodstream than through sublingual application. I have to be honest and say the 16mg patch was not enough for me and so I was advised to double up with 2 x patches = 32mg. Which BTW is perfectly safe. I believe that Budslife is about to launch the next range with 32mg and a 64mg range of patches. Upping the CBD dose did make a difference to me, I would say not immediately but accumulatively; by night 3, I was feeling more relaxed despite having had a rather stressful day. So if like me, you dislike the taste of hemp, but are curious to try CBD, then these are definitely for you, a box of 16 patches is £14.99 here.

Douvall’s - Skin-High: Organic Hemp & Argan Oil and Cannabis & Argan Oil

We don’t know about you, but recently we seem to be plagued by dry skin. Maybe it’s caused by #stayhome #staysafe stress or perhaps the constantly fluctuating change in temperature. In our search for a solution, we’ve returned to one of our favourite and trusted brands Douvall’s, who recently launched two skincare products in their Skin High collection. In the past, some of you will have seen that we’ve written about one of their hero products the Organic Argan Oil Moisturiser here.  At The Amazing Blog what we like about argan oil is that it’s a one-stop ingredient for skin, hair and nails. Today we are exploring their products that combine their hero cold-pressed organic argan oil with both organic hemp and cannabidiol.

Douvalls are best known as a trailblazer with their cold-pressed organic argan oil skincare. Created by mother and daughter Alicia and Georgia Douvall, it’s an award-winning range that harnesses the benefits of organic argan oil either using it pure and combining with other ingredients for their skincare, makeup and more recently hair care too. This is a responsible and eco-conscious company that gives back to the planet. They are also natural, cruelty-free, vegan and contains no chemicals, toxins, artificial fragrance, sulphates, parabens or alcohol. They work closely with The Breast Cancer Haven charity and partner with women’s cooperatives in Morocco where their argan oil is sustainably harvested.

Let’s start with Skin-High Organic Hemp & Argan Oil but don’t get confused with this and their Skin-High Cannabis & Argan Oil. The difference between these two is the ingredients of either hemp or cannabidiol (CBD etc).  The hemp oil is made from seeds of the hemp plant whereas cannabidiol is made from leaves, flowers and stalks of the hemp plant. Both offer their own potent health benefits. Hemp oil is simply obtained by a basic cold pressing extraction; whereas cannabidiol (CBD etc) has to go through a complex and expensive extraction method (known as supercritical CO2 extraction). All ingredients for the Organic Hemp & Argan oil are 100% eco-certified and contain simply 50/50 of each and only that! This rich and powerful oil glides effortlessly onto the skin, rich in linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) and vitamin E. The combination of organic pressed argan and hemp oils here have many extra health-enhancing minerals, such as phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulphur, calcium, iron and zinc. Rich and nutritious, a little goes a long way; it’s great to use by itself or a few drops mixed with your regular moisturiser for added benefit. And in case you are wondering, it’s CBD and THC free and only has the faintest natural hemp oil scent. This comes in two sizes 50ml at £48 see  here or 15ml at £18 see here.

Next is the Skin-High Cannabis & Argan Oil made from cannabidiol and cold-pressed organic argan oil; the argan here contains a high concentration of antioxidants (including oleic acid and linoleic acid) which helps to fight ageing by neutralising free radicals which damage cells. Whereas the 200 milligrams of full-spectrum cannabidiol (CBD,CBDA,CBDV,CBC and CBG) offers this and so much more.  As cannabidiol is produced using the whole plant, it naturally contains very high levels of CBD as well as other organic compounds, known as phytocannabinoids and terpenes. It protects against oxidation and reduces sebum due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It nourishes and hydrates helping the skin to absorb vital nutrients with its high concentration in vitamins A, D and E together with a balance of essential fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9 in the same proportions). The cannabidiols also treat skin disorders like dry skin, psoriasis, and eczema. They say it is THC free but the packaging states that it’s full spectrum too (?) Douvall’s, we’re a little confused here… However, we loved the texture and were surprised by its divine delicate and slightly grape-like fragrance. I think out of the two ‘Skin-High’ products this was our favourite. We recommend this as a night oil, as it left skin feeling soft, boosted and revitalised in the morning. This also comes in two sizes, where you can purchase 50ml for £58 here or 15ml for £20 here.
