Here is a question for you; how are you sleeping at the moment? With the global pandemic 2020 has been a year of uncertainly and we’re all feeling very sleep-challenged! Because we value our beauty sleep, here at The Amazing Blog, we’ve been searching for calm amongst the chaos and trying out a new remedy, meet Vedic Essential with their GoodNight Food Supplement.

Vedic Essentials is a new brand established in 2019 here in the UK, with their main focus around the ancient practice of Ayurvedic medicine, which has been used for over 3000 years in IndiaVedic Essentials continue this Ayurvedic legacy but with a bit of a twist, as they infuse it with modern science too. They believe that ‘without health, nothing else matters’ and instead of letting someone else take control of your well-being, it metaphorically speaking puts you behind the wheel with their supplements. They specialise in producing high-quality supplements and remedies, and unlike modern medicine, they focus on the body’s power to heal itself using natural ingredients and herbs. In the practice of this Ayurveda, there is order and disorder in nature and the body. Therefore, good health is considered as order, and a disease is a disorder. Thus, to help maintain this balance in the body, Ayurveda focuses on the mind, body and consciousness to get them to work in harmony to maintain a balance.

We were excited to receive their GoodNight Food Supplement that we are going to be talking about today, which we subsequently learned have been flying off the shelves! These capsules have a blend of six key natural ingredients. First, we have chamomile known for its ability to reduce anxiety and stress, therefore promoting better sleep. Chamomile has long been recognised for its calming properties. Then there is soothing blend in the ashwagandha one of the most important herbs in Ayurveda, apart from helping the body manage stress and anxiety, it is probably best known for fighting insomnia and stimulating the brain against depression. The reishi mushroom here is to boost the immune function and help with fatigue. Schisandra berry is proven to reduce cortisol levels in the body (the stress hormone) and is effective in controlling changes in serotonin and adrenaline providing you with a goodnight's sleep. The fifth element in this blend is the Maca which will improve your mental well-being and mood, and finally, there is Hops extract, which promotes a better sleep cycle. Besides these six key ingredients, this GoodNight supplement is rich in 5-HTP derived from griffonia, which has been proven to increase the feel-good hormone serotonin and is a naturally occurring amino acid that induces a calming effect on the brain. There’s magnesium, known for its ability to relax the mind and contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Last but not least, it contains vitamin B6, which helps in maintaining a positive and relaxed mood

We took one capsule in between supper and bedtime, the effect was gradual where it took about three or four days to kick in and have an optimum effect, quietening the mind and offering a better quality of sleep. We’d recommend these as an excellent aid to help the body and mind regulate and rebalancing itself, this GoodNight Food Supplement is suitable for vegans are gluten-free and non-GMO, and you can find them here for £17.99.

Hair & Scalp Natural Shampoo and Conditioner by Purepotions

At The Amazing Blog, we are big fans of natural hair care brands that make it their core values to create the best haircare products with the most natural and eco-friendly ingredients. Purepotions is certainly one of those brands that we always come back to, as their products are vegan friendly as well as  paraben, fragrance and SLS free. We recently tried two products of their latest hair range; the Hair and Scalp Natural Shampoo and Natural Conditioner.

The Hair and Scalp Natural Shampoo is made with 99.9% natural ingredients. The shampoo is  formulated to soothe and calm irritated, which make it the ideal shampoo for sensitive and itchy scalps. Enriched with the purest organic botanicals including chamomile, nettle, chickweed, calendula extract, sesame oil and Japanese honeysuckle extract this shampoo gently cleanses hair leaving them hydrated, detoxified and conditioned. The shampoo is so gentle that it is suitable for all skin types including babies from 6 weeks old.

To complement the shampoo the company has also created the Hair and Scalp Natural Conditioner. The conditioner was created to provide an extra-conditioning treatment giving that extra hydration which hair needs. The conditioner is enriched with natural ingredients including hempseed oil, oat flour, chamomile, lemongrass and chickweed to name but a few. These ingredients make the product a highly nourishing haircare product and work to give healthier, stronger and softer hair.

What we particularly love about both these products is that as well as being natural they nurture and protect the hair. Once again Purepotions has certainly proved that natural ingredients are the ultimate and best choice. Purchase the shampoo here for £18 and the conditioner here for £18.

Ancienne Ambiance - Goddess Waters

Working in an office can often be quite stressful for both body and soul, especially when the workload piles up and you don’t find the time to step away from the screen. However, here at The Amazing Blog  we have found the perfect solution in the Ancienne Ambiance Goddess Water. A unique product, the Goddess Water's uses range from a make up remover to a irritation soothing spray for pets and children. In soft Rose and calming Lavomile scents, we’ve been spritzing these heavenly waters left, right and centre in order to hydrate our skin and relax our mind.

Although the Goddess Waters are a bit of a multi-purpose product, we have found that they make a wonderful facial mist, with refreshing moisture just a spray away. Adding a glowing sheen to my stressed pallor, the Goddess Rose Water can also be used to reduce redness, acne, and skin irritations. Its antibacterial properties mean that we can use it as much as we like, with no worry of aggravating our skin. The Lavomile Water gets most of its use from us as a soothing room spray. The delicate blend of Lavender and Chamomile means it fills the office with a gentle scent, and is a lot more subtle than its floral rose counterpart, creating a much calmer environment in an often hectic office. So, if you need a rescue remedy, and want to try something a little different, let Ancienne Ambiance Goddess Waters restore inner, and outer peace to your work environment.

Both the Lavomile and the Rose Goddess Waters are available to buy here, both for £20.

BADGER Damascus Rose SPF 16 Face Sunscreen Lotion

London has officially become a chilly and humid city - winter is quickly approaching and I'm already wearing leather gloves, a wool scarf and my coveted leopard-print coat. This weather invites me to stay in with my cup of coffee and my beloved Kindle, as the sun is nowhere to be seen... and it's only October! My body care and skincare always tend to change by this time of the year; however, there's one thing that never changes in my skincare routine, and that's sunscreen. I'll admit I've become quite obsessed with skin aging and I try my best to keep it protected from the sun - for the past few years I've been wearing face sunscreen every single day. However, I've always disliked the smell and the feeling of sunscreen on my skin (not to mention the way it photographs! - it leaves a white cast on your face); every brand I've tried smells chemically or feels heavy on the skin. So in my hunt for a light-feeling and natural sunscreen I came across with BADGER'S Damascus Rose SPF 16 Face Sunscreen Lotion, which gently protects my skin from both UVA and UVB rays. This Damascus Rose Sunscreen keeps your skin nourished and soothed with a base of antioxidant and extracts of Rosehip, Seabuckthorn and Pomegranate. It also contains Organic Rose Otto essential oil, one of the most precious and expensive oils in the world (for which BADGER pays $4,000 per litre!) - this fabulous sunscreen is made from blossoms, handpicked before dawn and gently processed the same very day! This Damascus Rose Face Sunscreen also contains Lavender and Chamomile which leave a subtle and nice herbally scent (unlike regular sunscreens).

One of the things that we love the most about Badger is that their products are 100% natural and made from Certified Organic ingredients and pure essential oils sourced from around the globe for their therapeutic powers. At The Amazing Blog we've also tried two of their famous balms: the Lip & Body Balm and the Sleep Balm, and we can't wait to test more. We're delighted with the brand and its open approach to explaining their ingredients and what they use to produce their effective products.

You can buy BADGER's organic products from Health Monthly. And remember to keep your skin protected, it's so much better on the long run!
