English Rose Cosmetics

English Rose Cosmetics is committed to working with suppliers that do not test on animals and use naturally effective ingredients for only the best skincare. We here at The Amazing Blog had the chance to try four of their products.

The “Fair of Face” Gentle Foaming Face Wash gets its name from the Mondays Child Poem. This facial cleanser contains Chilean soap tree bark to regulate oil, shine and acne. Barley Protein moisturises and conditions dry skin, while glycerine locks in moisture. This cleanser is best applied in the shower and leaves our faces feeling brilliant. It can be purchased from the English Rose Beauty Shop for £15.

After cleansing, it is important to use a moisturiser. The Daily Defence Moisturiser is the perfect product to use. Betaine tightens the skin and prevents harmful substances like allergens and pollutants from getting into the skin. With added vitamin C and vitamin E, the skin will be bright and protected from UV rays. It can be purchased from the English Rose Beauty Shop for £14.

Cleansing and moisturising are very important, but we can’t neglect our eyes! Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed Under Eye Cream gives our eyes that extra lift when we need it. Organic silicon makes the connective tissues stronger and more flexible while Vitamin B3 increases blood flow to the tissue to get rid of those dark circles. It can be purchased from the English Rose Beauty Shop for £15.

The Nighty Night Cream is perfect to use on your face, neck and chest after a long day of hard work. Besides feeling amazing on the skin, the pelevita algae helps lighten age spots and inhibit new ones from forming. Our skin feels moisturised and oil free the morning after using this cream. It can be purchased from the English Rose Beauty Shop for £18.

Dash Skincare

Here at The Amazing Blog, natural skincare is one of our passions. When we use natural skincare products, we don’t need as much makeup during the day, since our skin is clear and radiant on its own. We recently discovered Dash Skincare, a local business started by two friends, and we just can’t get enough.

The ladies started their company when they realised just how many unpronounceable ingredients were in their expensive skincare products. They craved something natural with higher concentrations of active ingredients, and soon after they began creating their own products. There is a range of products for sensitive skin as well, yet all of the products are made without synthetic fragrances.

At the office, we received the 1A moisturiser and the Rebalancing oil, both of which calmed our skin and made it look radiant. We later found out that the 1A moisturiser was the first product the girls made for the company, and it’s still such a wonderful product. The Rebalancing oil was also a hit, since many of our team members have oily skin types and the oil helped to clarify and renew. When we applied both products, our skin felt smooth and non-irritated.

You can get the 1A moisturiser here for £12 and the Rebalancing oil here for £11.

John Masters - Organics Body Scrub

The team here at The Amazing Blog have been ready for summer since Christmas ended, so we need to make sure our bodies are ready for the sunshine and parties ahead of us. After brushing up on our fitness, we needed to upgrade our beauty routine, so we turned to the body scrubs from John Masters Organics.

Since our skin will be revealed more than ever during the warmer months, we want to make sure it’s silky smooth and glowing. These body scrubs can be used once or twice a week to remove dead skin and reveal healthy, revived skin. Each scent – Fresh, Sweet and Relaxing – is designed to complement your mood, with proper ingredients corresponding to its name. All of the scrubs in the range are 100% organic and contain a moisturising base of coconut and shea butters and complementary essential oils.

At the office, our favourite scrub was Fresh, since its strong citrus aroma energised us and had us day dreaming about sipping cool drinks by the ocean. The size of the container made it easy to hold when we used it in the shower, and its travel-friendly container allows you to take it on-the-go with ease so you can have smooth silky skin wherever you are.

For your own luxury exfoliating experience, pick up your own container of scrub here for £16.00

Olsson Hair - Care Products

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’ve found that sometimes our head can start feeling more sensitive and irritated than usual. With constant heat styling and always trying new products, it doesn’t surprise us, but that doesn’t mean we enjoy it. Luckily, we’ve found relief with the hair products from Olsson Hair Care, since they cleanse and nourish our hair without damage.

The products are free of allergens, parabens and colour, so they are perfect for those with allergies or sensitivity to beauty products. This doesn’t mean the products lack quality, since they still give hair volume and moisturisation while deep cleansing strands and calming the scalp. They do not have a strong scent like many other products do, so you don’t need to worry about irritating fragrances either.

We gave the shampoo and conditioner a try, and we absolutely loves how the products have treated our hair. With constant styling recently I have been suffering with an irritated scalp, and when I used the shampoo and conditioner, I felt instant relief. At the same time, my chic hairstyle stayed voluminous and glamorous.

Check out the full range of Olsson products here, where you’ll find the sensitive care shampoo and conditioner for £14.99 each.

Friday Favourites - Perfume Feature

Here at The Amazing Blog, we know how important a signature fragrance can be to your personal beauty routine. After you've fixed up your hair and applied your makeup, applying a bit of fragrance can be the perfect final touch to your ensemble. We all have a favourite fragrance that won't let us down, but sometimes we want to switch it up, and we're sure you do too. To give you a few suggestions for your next fragrance purchase, we've compiled our four newest discoveries that will please and entice your senses.

The new Heritage Collection perfumes from Crabtree & Evelyn are abolutely fabulous. In particular, our favourite scent was Parisian Millefleurs, which is inspired by floral scents of 18th century France. These include narcissus, rose, tuberose and violet. It comes in a simple glass bottle inside of an elegant baby blue box, which is delicately painted with fresh flowers. This fragrance is a must-have since spring is on the way. We found that it was a bit too strong to wear to the office, but loved wearing it out on dates and out with friends. It costs £31.50 and can be bought on the Crabtree and Evelyn website here.

The perfumes from Rouge Bunny Rouge smell simply amazing, plus they are vegan, phthalate-free and paraben-free. We got a chance to test out two of their lovely fragrances from the Fragrant Confections Collection. Lilt by Rouge Bunny Rouge incorporates the scents of nature, including fig leaves, peach, coconut and violet. It is the perfect balance between fruity and musky. The scent is perfect for any occasion and everyday wear. Incantation by Rouge Bunny Rouge has more of a woody scent with a hint of fruit. The smells of black fruits, fig leaves, mint and rose are infused to create a fragrance that is exquisite. You can purchase Lilt and Incantation on the Rouge Bunny Rouge website for £72 per bottle.

The Organic Glam fragrance collection from The Organic Pharmacy has created yet another enticing fragrance we couldn’t wait to get our hands on. The new scent, called Rose Oud, stands out with top notes of lemon, bergamot and lavender. Of course, notes of rose and oud are included in the mix, as well as jasmine and sandalwood. All of the scents combine beautifully to create a warm and sensual floral amber. The simple design of the bottle is classic, sophisticated and timeless, so it will look elegant atop your vanity. Add this scent to your collection and start your own fragrance love story. Pick up your own bottle here for £139, and feel the romance with every inhale of this glorious blend.

Let the As Sawira fragrance from Penhaligion take you on holiday with one simple spritz of fragrance. An exotic and sensual blend of carefully selected ingredients make this aroma a worthy scent for your vanity. The Moroccan-inspired top notes blend of bergamot, davana, saffron and absinthe had us longing for the beach. The bitter herbal notes combined with the radiant and gentle notes make for a perfectly balanced fragrance combination. With heart notes of rose and jasmine and base notes of sandalwood, myrrh and cedarwood, among others, it brings variety and offers a unique fragrance experience. Every detail of the perfume, from the scent to the vintage-style bottle, is well-thought and beautifully designed. You can get your own bottle here for £150.
