Siam Botanicals - After Sun Artisan Body Oil

After a long summer of holidays and sun exposure our skin can feel a little stressed. Here at The Amazing Blog, we want to give our skin some much needed TLC. Siam Botanicals have come to the rescue with their After Sun Artisan Body Oil; we had the chance to try this luxurious blend.

Although named an After Sun Oil, the usage doesn’t end there. As well as cooling and moisturising sun damaged skin, it also works as a clarifying massage oil. Siam uses 100% natural botanical oils that are compatible with the skins lipid layer, in plain English it absorbs into the skin quickly. We loved that surprisingly the oil had no greasy texture of residue, it simply provided lasting hydration, nourishment and protection.

Siam Botanicals uses only the finest natural ingredients, free from toxins and impurities. The After Sun Body Oil is made up of the usual blend of authentic Thai oils to make a rich, silky emollient base. But the potent fragrance is created from a combination of Coconut, Peppermint and Tea Tree. The minty scent gives of a soothing and relaxing aroma once melted into the skin, perfect for an evening massage. Their minimalist approach to packaging also lowers their impact on the environment.

If you want to nourish your stressed summer skin with an effective and soothing oil, order yours here for £12.65.

Ted Baker - Sugar Sweet Range

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love to wear strong, beautiful prints. We often lust after beautiful designs from the likes of Ted Baker, longing to add them to our wardrobes. Beauty is more our forte, however, so we were so excited when they introduced one of their most popular floral prints to their new Sugar Sweet range of beauty products, adding a touch of luxury to our bathroom shelves.

Although it’s never advisable to judge a product by it’s bottle, the contents of this stylish packaging are equally covetable. The entire range is scented with a beautiful aroma of Vanilla, Patchouli and Amber, as well as some delicious fruity top notes, perfect for summer. Of the range, we tried the Body Wash, Body Souffle and Body Spray.

Our favourite was the Body Souffle. It has a luxuriously creamy texture, and, although its mint green shade looking a little off-putting it first, it soon melts into the skin, leaving it feeling sumptuously soft. The Body Spray is great for freshening up on the go. In a handy plastic bottle, there’s no risk of it breaking in your bag. The fine mist provides a wonderful veil of delicious aroma, ideal for jetting out for dinner straight from the office. Last but not least, the Body Wash lathers into a decadent foam, allowing you to freshen up and start the day right.

Pick up the Ted Baker Sugar Sweet range here, with the Body Wash costing £8, the Body Souffle, £10 and the Body Spray, £7.

The Organic Pharmacy - Self Tan

Around this time of year it seems that everyone on the streets is sporting a lovely summer glow, but several of us here at The Amazing Blog aren’t so lucky. It seems we are pale or bright red, with nothing in between. We, therefore, couldn’t have been more grateful to receive The Organic Pharmacy’s Self Tan.

For those of you who find a natural tan elusive, look no further than this 100% natural product. This self tan uses a unique DHA, Ecocert derived from sugar beets to give you a natural glow without harming skin. It also contains shea butter, aloe, jojoba, and coconut oil, which allow it to moisturise while you apply. This product is completely free from preservatives, colourants and petrochemicals and is gentle on sensitive skin. As an added bonus, it has a light and pleasant fragrance, so there is no worry about smelling like you are covered in product.

When we tried this product, we were glad to find that it felt very lightweight and didn’t leave a greasy film on top of our skin. It went on evenly and without streaks, and in just a few hours we had a soft, uniform glow. We especially loved that it lasted several days, and we only needed to apply a few times a week in order to spend every day looking radiant.

If you too are in search of a summer warmth to your look, The Organic Pharmacy’s Self Tan can be bought here for £36.95.

The Konjac Sponge Company - Angel Cloth

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’re big fans of cream cleansers. Whether we give our faces a scrub in the shower (guilty as charged) or give our cleansing routine a bit more loving attention, we usually reach for a flannel or muslin cloth to help us along the way. So we were curious when the Original Konjac Angel Cloth from The Konjac Sponge Company landed on our desks, and were excited to see how it compared to our regular cleansing tools.

Looking uncannily like a prawn cracker, we were somewhat bemused by the odd looking cloth. However, when rinsed with water, the cloth relaxes and expands into a soft cleansing square, perfect for use with our favourite products. Rich in minerals and super gentle on the skin, the 100% Natural Vegetable Fibre Face Cloth makes a milder alternative to a muslin cloth, and is extremely kind to the skin. Made from the Japanese Konjac plant, it’s packed with antioxidant properties and, being 100% natural, is more than ideal for sensitive skin. We were surprised by just how soft it was – it’s certainly not what you expect when you see the angel shaped sponge in its packaging.

Turn over a more gentle cleansing leaf with the Original Konjac Angel Cloth. You can buy it here for £11.99.
