NaturVits - Omega-3 with Vitamin D3 Supplement

blog imageHere at The Amazing Blog, we’re always keen to try new recipes, but we don't always get all of the nutrients we need from our diet, no matter how good our intentions are. So when NaturVits sent us a box of their Omega-3 with Vitamin D3 food supplements, we were excited to include them as part of our healthy lifestyle, giving us the extra dose of vitamins we crave.

The one-a-day vitamins are formulated using Concordix, an advanced Norwegian technology that allows you to absorb the nutritious benefits of the product up to 44% more effectively than other brands. Boxed into a packet of 30, these sugar free gel tablets have a really delicious orange flavour, already setting them above most nasty tasting supplements. I really liked their chewable texture, which negated the need to take them with food or water. You just chew the tasty tablets, and you're well on you way to your daily dose of vitamins. The convenient little citrus capsules are also packed with Vitamin D3, a big pro for us office workers who don’t often get the opportunity to catch a lot of rays. Made from 100% natural ingredients, the chewy tablets contain DHA for normal brain functioning and vision and Vitamin D for healthy teeth and bones.

Like a lot of gelatin based products, take note that these supplements are not suitable for vegetarians. Boost your vitamin intake with the NaturVits Omega-3 with Vitamin D3 food supplements, which are available here for £14.99.

Hawkshead Relish Company - Strawberry Daiquiri Jam and Margarita Jelly

blog imageAt The Amazing Blog, we're big advocates for a bit of advocat. We only wish it was acceptable to have a happy hour at any time of day. Thanks to The Hawkshead Relish Company, we can now treat ourselves to some daytime appropriate tipple, courtesy of their recently launched Cocktail Range. They were sweet enough to send us both their Strawberry Daiquiri Jam and Margarita Jelly, which make the perfect boozy preservative to top your morning toast.

The Hawkshead Relish Company is a UK based company who hand make a  plethora of preserves, pickles and relishes. Although not all of the Hawkshead relishes contain alcohol, we love the innovative idea of beverage based spreads. Containing English strawberries, white rum and lemon juice, the Strawberry Daiquiri Jam is a great morning to midday treat. Perfect for anything from toast to scones, the jam is thick and sweet, with a subtle hint of rum. Precisely what you would expect from a daiquiri based jam, it certainly satisfied my sweet tooth. If you have more of a taste for savoury snacks, the Margarita Jelly is delicious. Lemon and tequila give a sharp tang that would pair beautifully with any seafood dish. Suitable for vegetarians, and free from artificial flavours, colourings or preservatives, we can't think of a better way to liven up your lunch.

‘Embellish your relish’ with these delectable preserves. The The Strawberry Daiquiri Jam is available to buy here for £2.60, and the Margarita Jelly here, for £2.95. We can't think of a better way to liven up your lunch.

Rejuvenated - H3O Hydration

blog imageHere at The Amazing Blog, there’s no end to the amount of lotions and potions we slather on our faces. But sometimes these moisturisers aren’t quite enough, and we need something that’s more than just skin deep. With Rejuvenated’s H3O Hydration, we were able to give our skin a nourishing boost from the inside, helping us to glow from within!

H3O Hydration, a drink designed to provide intense hydration on a cellular level, contains a mixture of ions and minerals which help to nurture cell function in the skin, and hylauronic acid for an extra moisture kick. A pretty shade of pink when mixed with water, the powder has a lovely, slightly tart taste to it. For me, the sharp berry flavour is a vast improvement to other sickly sweet products I’ve tried. As well as plumping up my skin, it also really helps the body to absorb nutrients, and I did feel slightly more energetic and awake in less than a week of using it. Alongside the hydration drink, H3O also offer Night Repair supplements, packed with vitamins and ionic minerals which work at repairing and hydrating your skin whilst you sleep. A packet of 30 is more than enough to ensure you wake up with a younger, rejuvenated complexion.

It’s important to note that this supplement should not be taken if you’re regularly taking aspirin or similar blood thinning medication. But if you’re on the hunt for a supplement that makes you feel healthier, and your skin look happier, then pick up a sachet of H3O Hydration here for £24.95, along with their Night Repair here, for £30. After all, ‘healthy skin starts from within.’

Bistrotea - TeaPods

blog imageAs with most offices, all of us here at The Amazing Blog can usually be found at our desks with a cup of tea in hand. Though we love drinking tea, its preparation can often be a little messy. Disposing of soggy teabags and washing up tea stained spoons is not our idea of time well spent. Thankfully, Bistrotea has solved our problem with their innovative TeaPods. Using only organic, premium grade tea leaves in their recyclable tubes, Bistrotea offer TeaPods in a variety of flavours, and they were generous enough to send us the whole collection to sip on.

The straw shaped TeaPods are single-use tea diffusers which act as both filter and stirrer. Negating the need for spoon and messy teabag, the pod can go straight back into its tear-proof packaging after use, leaving you to enjoy your hot cup of deliciousness without the looming dread of washing up. The collection consists of eleven different blends, including traditional flavours like English Breakfast and Earl Grey, as well as more adventurous tastes like Apple Cinnamon, Lemon Grass and an Energy Tea. Bistrotea recommend brewing for 3-5 minutes, with the strength of flavour increasing the longer you leave it to infuse. With so many options, there's definitely a pod for everyone. The blend of Vanilla Peach was the most coveted flavour in the office. Combining the sharpness of peach with the sweet softness of vanilla, the TeaPod makes for the perfect pick-me-up during the work day.

The TeaPods are available in a  32 pieces carton, but if you aren't sure which flavour to try, you can go for 'the favourites', in which you can mix and match 8 different blends. Find your perfect combination here and ‘Infuse Your Passion’ for £14.80. Bistrotea have also been kind enough to offer a 15% discount to our readers, here.

La Fee - Absinthe Parisienne

blog imageAlthough we here at The Amazing Blog love our work, we also enjoy a happy hour or two every now and then. And though we definitely wouldn't class ourselves as big on the booze, we were both excited and intrigued when a bottle of Absinthe Parisienne from La Fée landed on our doorstep. In association with the French Absinthe Museum, the artfully designed bottle wouldn’t look out of place in 19th Century France, but it looks equally at home in our liquor cabinet.

From the ‘people who pioneered the Absinthe renaissance’, you’ll struggle to find an absinthe more pure than La Fée. With the original recipe dating back to 1915, there have been a few tweaks since then, although the ingredients still remain 100% natural. This particular blend contains a delicate mix of fennel, coriander and hyssop, along with the distillation of 60% more Grand Wormwood and less star anise than the original recipe. The naturally vibrant ‘verte’ drink is protected by La Fée’s unique UV blocking green bottle, ensuring your absinthe will taste great all the way to the bottom. And, considering its 68% potency, that will take us quite some time yet. Although we are a fan of the signature aniseed taste, we weren’t quite brave enough to drink it traditionally – with 6 parts water to 4 parts absinthe, using the included serving spoon to dissolve in a sugar cube or two.

We were, however, more than happy to sample the cocktail menu. Our favourite recipe was ‘Green Fingered’, a delicious concoction best described as an adventurous Pimms, consisting of 25ml Absinthe Parisienne, 25ml sugar syrup, berries, mint, cucumber and lemon, all topped off with a splash of ginger ale. It’s the perfect refreshing beverage for the pub garden weather that's on it's way. With bans in some countries only lifted in the last 15 years, it goes without saying that this is not a drink for the faint hearted. But in moderation, drunk responsibly, it’s a delicious tipple, easy to customise to your own tastes. La Fée Absinthe Parisienne  is available to buy here for £42.91.
