Afternoon Tea Week 10th - 16th August 2015

Here at The Amazing Blog we love a good cuppa and a slice of cake, and therefore can’t wait for all the festivities of Afternoon Tea Week 2015 to begin.

From the 10th - 16th August the biggest celebration of tea time treats in the world is happening all over the country, although many of the biggest and best events are right here in London.

Among the events is a Historical Afternoon Tea at Dennis Severs’ House with Kerstin Rodgers aka Ms Marmite Lover, one of the country’s most successful bloggers. On Friday 14th August Kerstin will be creating a historical, Georgian themed Afternoon Tea and baking from historic recipes. The event begins at 3pm and you can’t buy your tickets here.

Hawkshead Relish Company - Strawberry Daiquiri Jam and Margarita Jelly

blog imageAt The Amazing Blog, we're big advocates for a bit of advocat. We only wish it was acceptable to have a happy hour at any time of day. Thanks to The Hawkshead Relish Company, we can now treat ourselves to some daytime appropriate tipple, courtesy of their recently launched Cocktail Range. They were sweet enough to send us both their Strawberry Daiquiri Jam and Margarita Jelly, which make the perfect boozy preservative to top your morning toast.

The Hawkshead Relish Company is a UK based company who hand make a  plethora of preserves, pickles and relishes. Although not all of the Hawkshead relishes contain alcohol, we love the innovative idea of beverage based spreads. Containing English strawberries, white rum and lemon juice, the Strawberry Daiquiri Jam is a great morning to midday treat. Perfect for anything from toast to scones, the jam is thick and sweet, with a subtle hint of rum. Precisely what you would expect from a daiquiri based jam, it certainly satisfied my sweet tooth. If you have more of a taste for savoury snacks, the Margarita Jelly is delicious. Lemon and tequila give a sharp tang that would pair beautifully with any seafood dish. Suitable for vegetarians, and free from artificial flavours, colourings or preservatives, we can't think of a better way to liven up your lunch.

‘Embellish your relish’ with these delectable preserves. The The Strawberry Daiquiri Jam is available to buy here for £2.60, and the Margarita Jelly here, for £2.95. We can't think of a better way to liven up your lunch.
