Chulo Naturals

NEW blog new blogGood old fashioned ‘do the job’ natural beauty products are always welcomed with open arms at The Amazing Blog, especially when they are lovingly handcrafted right here in our hometown. We were delighted to hear about the Chulo Naturals brand, a beauty company who manufacture a wide variety of luxury UK-made skin care products. All their products use natural ingredients such as sugars, salts, butters, oils and fruits which are sure to be full of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, moisturisers and all the lovely stuff that our skin adores. We have been trying the intriguingly named “Bubbling Butter” in Almond Milk. This two-in-one product combines a fragrant foaming soap with rich body butter, giving you a shower essential that moisturises your skin as you wash. It can also double up as a bubble bath (explains the name) by pouring some under running water it creates a foamy bath for you to soak and relax in, which is just what we need as the weather getting so much colder. You’ll definitely want as much time as possible soaking in this as the Bubbling Butter is so rich and moisturising, it left my skin feeling soft and silky. The Almond Milk gave it an incredibly natural and neutral fragrance but if you don’t fancy that then there are 3 other luxurious flavours that are also available to choose from; Dark Pomegranate, Vanilla and Sandalwood and Ginger and Sweet Orange, all of which sound very tempting.

We also had a go with their Rich Belly Butter, specially formulated for expecting mummies. It uses a mix of Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil as well as Frankincense and Rose essential oils which have been discovered to work wonders on surgery and stretch marks. Although none of us here are expecting, we gave it a little try and it felt lavish and glossy on the skin, not to mention the gorgeous zesty fragrance that comes with it.

These simple products are delightfully fresh and don’t give the impression of being damaging to your skin, because they aren’t…There are no added chemicals or ingredients which may irritate sensitive skin. They are an absolute treat to use, a treat that will very much be welcomed by your skin too! They are the perfect presents for friends and family this wintery Christmas. The Bubbling Butter retails at £17.50 for a 200g jar and Rich Belly Butter at £10 for 100g. These are available to purchase from their website.

The Pro Hygiene Company

BLOG IMAGE In this chilly weather there are lots of germs flying around and more of us are getting the flu. Therefore, cleanliness is important for The Amazing Blog and one way we love to keep on top of this is with the Pro Hygiene Collection. They have covered all of our ‘high-maintenance’ hygiene needs, with a Hand Sanitizing Gel, Make-up Spray and Make-up Brush Cleaner, there’s no need to spread germs if you just take a little extra care in your daily routine.

The Make-up Spray and Brush Cleaner are quietly important, and should be incorporated into our week to avoid spreading dirt from our brushes to our skin.

We all know that bacteria cover our brushes, but most of us probably didn’t know that our actual makeup suffers from residue build up too. There are certain undesirable side effects which come with not washing your brushes, but the Makeup Brush Cleaner works on natural and synthetic brushes to remove product residue, oils and pigments (yes, I was oblivious to these too). It doesn’t have that unpleasant chemical smell which comes with lots of anti-bacterial products, just a lingering lemony aroma.

When we came across the Make-up Spray, we were a intrigued as it’s not something you see everyday, and don’t necessarily know you need. Powders, Lipsticks, Pencils, you name it, it’ll clean it. So pair this with the brush cleaner and you will be bacteria free (well, almost) in no time! Say farewell to the woes of bad skin caused by nasty build ups on your brushes and products. Once you introduce yourself to these products, you will always want to keep your make-up clean. Both of them are  perfect if you share make-up with friends a lot.

The make-up cleaners are both fabulous, but a Hand Sanitizing Gel will always be my hero product, it’s a bit of a personal OCD thing but should be important to everyone. I have plenty of sanitizers in my handbag which are perfectly compact for just that, being in my bag. Desk-sized hand sanitizers though, are a different story. That was until I first used the Pro Hygiene Collection Gel. Now I am genuinely using it every thirty minutes in the office, and I’m pretty sure any bacteria will now be quietly drowning in this lovely cleaning gel. Lots of things are passed around the office on a daily basis and you never know what germs are clingy on to these, so the sanitizer just clarifies that you’re not spreading any potential illnesses.  As a light product, it effortlessly glides across your hands and wrists and best of all, it doesn’t leave any sticky gel behind to have to deal with. It’s ideal.

If you would like to invest in this wonderful collection then have a look on Feel Unique or the Pro Make-up shop. The prices range but stay affordable, the Hand Sanitizer is £5.50, the Makeup Spray is £15 and the Make-up Brush Cleaner is £9.

Ayurveda Rejuvenating Eye Gel

georgia blog image Here at The Amazing Blog we know how important using a good eye gel is if we want to banish dark circles around the eyes and prevent, as well as improve, the appearance of fine lines. We have found a wonderful Rejuvenating Eye Gel from the Holistic Essentials collection by Ayurveda Pura to help keep the area around your eyes looking youthful.

The Holistic Essentials Collection features a range of fantastic spa quality skincare products that are all handmade in the UK. The Rejuvenating Eye Gels are made with a delicate blend of natural oils, tinctures and Witch Hazel. This combination is effective in improving the appearance of puffy and tired eyes, as well as removing dark circles and reducing wrinkles. The gels are also organic, meaning only the finest quality natural ingredients are used on your skin and there are no nasty chemicals involved which may cause irritation.

Ayurveda wholeheartedly believe in ancient holistic science developed in India. They believe that good health and beauty can be obtained through knowledge of your Doshas, or bodily constitution. The Holistic Essentials collection has a range of skincare products to suit each Dosha. The Rejuvenating Eye Gel comes in four variations: De-stress for Normal/dry skin, Re-fresh for normal/sensitive skin, Re-energise for Normal/Oily skin and Re-balance suitable for all skin types.

We tried out the Re-balance formula, and really enjoyed it's natural scent Despite being oil based, the gel was not at all greasy and absorbed into the skin instantly, leaving it soft and refreshed. I really like the roller-ball applicator design as it means none of the product is wasted like with a pump, and it is handy to keep in your handbag, or to be used when travelling.

For more information about the Holistic Essentials collection or the Rejuvenating Eye Gels, visit the Ayurveda Pura Website, where you can also purchase your own for £19.95 each.

Nelsons Arnicare Bath & Massage Balm

thursday new blog imageWe have all had those days when everything piles up and up and the stress can get too much. On days like that,  The Amazing Blog is so thankful for products like the Nelsons Arnicare Bath and Massage Balm.

This fantastic bottle of liquid gold is a three-in-one miracle stress, tension and muscle ache cure. It can be used as a soothing and luxurious bath oil for you to unwind in, as a massage oil to relieve stiff or aching muscles and as a body oil that should be applied after bathing to lock in moisture.

The Bath and Massage Balm contains arnica, a powerful ingredient extracted from the beautiful Arnica Montana plant which has anti-inflammatory properties that can ease muscle pain and reduce the appearance of bruises. Almond Oil and Evening Primrose are used to keep moisture in the skin whilst rejuvenating tired muscles. The product also makes use of lavender and grapefruit oil to calm the mind.

The Bath and Massage Balm has a fragrant herbal scent that is instantly calming thanks to the lavender notes. When applied to the skin, it absorbs very quickly without leaving oily residue. My skin instantly felt softer and smoother and the herbal fragrance lingered long after application. I think this product would be perfect if used in a bath and then as a moisturising body oil just before bed time to aid relaxation and ensure a comfortable and peaceful nights sleep.

Cor Silver Soap

  final blog image

During the next few months we will be spending a lot of money on our friends and family as Christmas is fast approaching. This means we need to make cut backs elsewhere, so what better than a multitasking soap which can cleanse, tone, relieve acne, reduce oil build up, remove makeup and prevent signs of ageingThe Amazing Blog girls have found the Cor Silver Soap to do it all, meaning there is no need to spend money on an abundance of different skincare products this year.

With silver being the main ingredient in this soap, I was excited to try it as anything silver in the past has been a success with me. Whenever a brand claims that their product has as many benefits as this one, I do get a bit doubtful as it seems too good to be true. However, I opened my mind to trying the Cor Silver Soap to see if it really was a miracle skincare product. When opening it, you're hit with an instant fragrance which is wonderfully orangey and tropical. I applied the soap by wetting my hands and building up a lather in my hands then smoothing it gently into my skin. On application it’s nothing unique and just feels like you are using a normal soap. After washing however, my skin felt cleansed and hydrated, and it wasn’t left with a greasy layer which I have found in the past.

After using it for about a week, I began to see changes in my skin. Usually my nightly skin routine leaves me with irritated blemishes because of the different products but I found this was improved after using the soap and my skin looked healthier. I often wake up with oily skin after a night of build up, although not completely gone this was reduced quite noticeably. So, although labelled higher than high street prices, you won’t need to spend money on other products so it can work out cheaper. My skin was a lot softer and moisturised and my pores were  much cleaner. I have naturally oily skin, and have been searching for a product to help me with this. Although the Cor Silver soap didn’t noticeably reduce oil production during the day, I did find it helped over night when I hadn’t applied makeup over the top.

So, if you’re looking for a lovely soap to give you younger looking skin with an even tone then it’s worth trying out this Silver Soap. The prices range from £15, £35, and £100, so if you’re not sure it’ll work then go for the 10g size for £15 to test it out. You can purchase it from their webpage here.
