London Wine Week 2016

Following a hugely successful London Beer Week which saw 10,000 beer drinkers descend on The Old Truman Brewery in February, DrinkUp.London’s latest festival - London Wine Week - taking place this week (23-29 May 2016), was destined to be another great event! Here at The Amazing Blog we love attending events and we adore wine. So when we found out that LWW was wine-ding down this Sunday we promptly added it to our weekend plans.

The festival has returned to Devonshire Square for a third year, where all of the city's wine lovers can gather for a chance to enjoy a tipple or two. Filled with masterclasses, tutored tastings, supper clubs, meet the maker evenings, parties and pop-ups; you will have an opportunity not only to taste the wine and discover new flavours, but also to expand your knowledge about how wine is made or what food goes best with it. If all this wasn’t enough, over 100 venues across the city will be opening their doors offering £5 tasting wine flights and specially created food and drink pairings for those wearing the festival wristband.

For only £10 you will experience a brilliant event and have the opportunity to witness the very best that wine has to offer. So go ahead and purchase your wristband online here and enjoy your weekend!

Deodorant Feature - Friday Favourites

We at The Amazing Blog know how important it is to stay fresh while living our busy and sometimes hectic lives. Whether we are running daily errands, going to the gym or travelling; we all want to feel protected from unpleasant odours. We also love discovering new brands that do natural and organic products that are vegan friendly, not tested on animals and that are free from nasty chemicals that harm our health.  That’s why we tried and tested three great brands that offered us just what we were looking for.

Green People were one of the first brands we tried and fell in love with. Their paraben free Quinoa & Prebiotics Deodorant is 89% organic and non-irritating, so what’s not to love? It also effectively controls odours and doesn’t contain pore-clogging aluminium. You should also expect this ultra-gentle roll-on deodorant to deliver more than just supreme protection: skin-loving ingredients like Rosemary and Shea butter soothe and calm the underarm, prevent irritation and regulate the skin’s acid balance. Skin is left soothed, softened and refreshingly scented with a pleasant citrus formula. Green People Quinoa & Prebiotics deodorant is available for £9.50 on their website.

When AA Skincare launched their new fresh-smelling trio of deodorants we were happy to try them out since they promised to give day-long protection. Not only did this effective trio deliver long lasting protection, they also allowed our skin to breathe as the ingredients used contain pure deodorising essential oils and natural extracts. The deodorants come in Grapefruit & Cedarwood, Lemongrass & Lavender, and Bergamot & Aloe, so you can choose your favourite one. These naturally effective deodorants won’t block your pores or irritate your skin and they contain no aluminium salts, alcohol or artificial fragrances.  Packed in handy glass roll-on containers to ensure no wastage, the range is competitively priced at just £4.95 and is available online here.

Salt of the Earth’s Pure Aura Natural Deodorant for Women was our most recent product to trial. With the sweet scent of Lavender and Vanilla, this natural spray-on deodorant will leave underarms fresh all day long with a heavenly blend of plant extracts and oils. With no testing on animals and made from wholly natural ingredients, this product is not only good for your skin but also for your conscience! For these reasons, it is no wonder Salt of the Earth has received multiple accolades for their products. Their range also includes an unscented Natural Deodorant with Aloe Vera and Baking Soda that is suitable for men and women and also comes in an easy-to-use spray bottle. Treat your oft-forgotten underarms to some natural TLC with Salt of the Earth’s Natural Deodorant here from £2.99 for a handy travel sized Unscented spray to £5.99 for the Pure Aura Natural Deodorant for Women.

Perfume Feature - Friday Favourites

Scent is the strongest trigger of memories, therefore at The Amazing Blog the scents that waft through the office are making us dream of summer days gone by and serving as a lovely reminder of the warmer weather that is to come. This Friday we have put together three of our favourite perfumes to enjoy this summer!

Prodigieux le parfum by Nuxe is the Parisian pick of the bunch, combining orange blossom, magnolia, and vanilla to create a truly lovely, summery perfume. The fragrance is based on the well-known Nuxe Huile Prodigieux, and has people reminiscing of beach holidays. With its long lasting scent, it is the perfect fragrance to be worn during the day in the warmer months.

Find Prodigieux le parfum here for £43.50.

The most exotic of the three, Islah by Ayesha Ziya is a luxurious mix of fruity and spicy scents, making for a warm and provocative perfume perfect for balmy nights. The perfume stood out to us due to its unique base note of Oud, a rare and rich woody fragrance. Softer scents of citrus and rosemary bring energy to the product. For strong, confident women who desire a perfume as distinct as themselves, Islah is the perfect fit.

Snap up a bottle of Islah here for £76.00.

LUA natural perfume (Portuguese for moon) is launching this summer and has been developed by Nadia Narain, yoga teacher to celebrities such as Kate Moss and Lara Stone. Based upon her love of rose and her preference for natural essential oils over synthetic fragrances, Nadia has developed Lua alongside renowned aromatherapist Michelle Roques-O’Neil. The luxurious mix of geranium and blood orange with wild and Persian rose has us dreaming of fine days in an English rose garden. A beautiful gift for ladies who appreciate a sophisticated, yet natural, perfume, or for someone wishing to treat themselves!

Lua can be purchased online here for £58.00.
