Marion Ayonote - The Ultimate Red Carpet Shoes

blog When we caught a glimpse of the stunning shoes that Olga Kurylenko was wearing on the recent tour of Oblivion; as you can imagine we at The Amazing Blog had to investigate further… regular readers of this blog will know we like to search out any unusual and comment-worthy British brands. And gosh have we got one for you.

It turns out that Kurylenko was wearing Marion Ayonote's Conqueror Gladiator Pumps  (which by the way are a part of Ayonote’s new Cruise Collection). We have been lucky enough to preview part of this collection (which incidentally will be live on their 'Gallery'on Friday 19th April) and let me tell you, this collection is STUNNING. OK, so the price tag of £550 for this particular pair of shoes might make you faint,  but  the quality is nothing short of exceptional. Each pair is handcrafted in London, made up of the most  luxurious leathers  and are most definitely designed to make a statement. The above pair that Kurylenko showcased are in a versatile pewter colour and made of the softest calf leather, which  has been printed with a subtle  lizard pattern on the tongue. This delicious combination makes them the perfect complement for any day or evening outfit and is sure to make a few heads turn. Many of Ayonote's creative inspirations come from her childhood in Africa, where her parents nurtured her talents from an early age, thus making her shoes original and unlike any other current designers.

For those of you who are lusting after these stylish pumps but cannot quite afford the price tag, Marion Ayonote will be releasing a more economical line, MA Diffusion Line, in a couple weeks. These will be in sizes 36-42 and are priced between £55 and £150. We suggest you revisit her website for this range in the middle of May.

The above Cruise Collection comes in sizes 37-41 and at present is available to view and buy, By Appointment Only. The showroom is located at 2 Munro Terrace Cheyne Walk Chelsea London SW10 0DL tel (+44) 0207 352 4088. We are very excited to have made  the discovery of our Chelsea neighbour. And who knows, maybe we'll  see some of her shoes making an appearence shortly on the latest series of Made In Chelsea?

Dior x Harrods Exhibition and Café

So-Dior-Harrods-Exhibition-10

As fashion lovers, whenever we get the chance to explore the history and making of brands names, we take advantage of it. That’s why when we at The Amazing Blog got word of the new Dior Exhibition and Café opening in Harrods, we knew we had to make our way over to it. The exhibition was absolutely breathtaking. Each of the nine dazzling sections featured the iconic aspects of Dior that have helped to make it the legendary name that it is today. One room features a sparkling display of J’adore Dior perfume bottles and glistening gold vintage dresses while another room features a giant white classic Dior handbag in the centre of the room; also a video of the creation of the bags is projected onto the bright white surface of the giant bag. This exhibition successfully combines French savoir-faire and British charm to create the ultimate Dior experience for anyone who lives and breathes fashion, such as I do.

003When you’re done with the exhibit head on over to the Dior café. This café features a menu of food that evokes Monsieur Dior’s love for 18th century décor and passion for scrumptious French food - apparently the Lobster Sandwich is a must. Although, if you are unable to make a reservation, I would make my way down to the Harrods food hall and pick up some of their limited edition Dior cupcakes. I mean... what’s more perfect than high-fashion and cupcakes?

The exhibition is open from March 16th-April 14th and is completely free. So when you get the chance, make your way over to Harrods to experience this one of a kind high-fashion exhibition.

Crafty Fox Easter Market

brixton-dogstar-crafty-fox-market-03 Every year as spring slowly rolls around again, I begin to let my inner creativity come out. As Easter quickly approaches, Crafty Fox Markets are hosting a special event this weekend. At The Amazing Blog we try to attend something that is going on in London every weekend, while we have free time to ourselves. Many of my friends have told me that Crafty Fox Market is unique and fabulous with something for everyone – I surely will not leave empty handed.

During March 23rd and 24th there will be around 100 designers set up with their handmade crafts and art work at The Dogster in Brixton. Each of these designers are hand picked to represent their crafts and go through a thorough selection process in order to gain a spot.

Each of these designers display their handmade and unique crafts for only one day, in order to allow other designers to showcase their crafts on the second day of the market. As you walk around the market you will notice a foxy theme. You cannot go wrong with this craft market as you can pick up cards, prints, jewellery and homeware.

Jonathan Aston - Vignette Tights

blog-purplehosery When it comes to fashion, my tastes and preferences are quite particular – I never wear trousers or jeans. However, I do love wearing high-waisted shorts, especially if they’re denim. Also, I don’t like wearing colourful clothes, as me and my best friend joke “Ana will wear any colour as long it is black”. When Jonathan Aston’s tights arrived to The Amazing Blog I was shocked by the powerful colours – bright pink and purple blended to give a dip dyed effect. My friends always say that I should really move on from black and wear more colourful clothes; so in order to shut their mouths I decided to give these tights a go.

Jonathan Aston was founded in Leicester in the mid-sixties by Ralph Salem. Salem changed the history of hosiery using knitting machines that had only ever been used for plain tights to produce ‘fashion hosiery’. Jonathan Aston quickly became one of the coolest names in the industry with celebrities like Twiggy and Jean ‘The Shrimp’ Shrimpton adorning their legs with these high-quality and fashion-lead tights.

The tights we received at The Amazing Blog are the Vignette Tights in bright pink and purple with a dip dye effect. As mentioned before, I was pretty scared when I first saw them – however, I ended up seeing myself wearing them everytime I wanted to add a bit (or a lot) of colour to my black outfits. Jonathan Aston tights quality is outstanding – and for a person that lives in tights because finds trousers to be terribly uncomfortable, that’s a bit statement. They’re very soft, fit perfectly and also, they’re very easy to wash. I’ve already washed them a few times and the colours are still as vibrant as the first day.

I’ll be definitely checking Jonathan Aston’s website for more designs and colours as then again, the quality of the material in truly excellent. You can order your own pair of Jonathan Aston tights off of MyTights.com or you can see the whole list of e-tailers here.
