We tried out the #1059 and #1183 to create our own shades. Each of us ended up with a completely different look; we mainly experimented with it as a lipstick taking us from vivid peach to a nude peachy brown. Best of all is its staying power, but don’t get it on your clothes – one of us did and couldn’t wash it out of their jeans! Friday Favourites - Lip Feature

Here at The Amazing Blog, we always have a hard time finding the perfect lip colour. It’s difficult to determine exactly which brand and shade is just right for you, so we’ve decided to make it a bit easier by compiling some of our favourite lip brands and what we like about each of them.

Makeup by James is a line of lipsticks and lip glosses designed to give women a natural flawless look. The names of the products are inspired by famous streets and bridges in London. Makeup by James caters to the modern woman by using colours for all cultures to give a chic, modern look. We love this brand because not only is there a colour for everyone, but it is full of Minerals for a longer lasting colour and it's London theme comes through in every part of the product and brand. Max Factor’s Lipfinity lip colours are hot, must-have shades that last all day. These glosses last up to 24 hours, and you can chose from 25 subtle to vibrant shades. First, you simply apply the colour, and then use the moisturising balm to keep the colour from coming off. This makes the gloss stay put for hours, which is what is so great about it; there is no need to reapply all day long! Oriflame Sweden makes The ONE colour lip gloss that is perfect for any occasion. It has lipgrip innovation that attaches to your lips for an anti-smudge result. It glistens and shines, which makes the lips the “centre of attraction.” There is also a blend of conditioners in the gloss to keep lips soft for lip-loving colour and shine that stays put! A lot of times, shiny lip gloss can be thick and tacky, but The ONE is not overly sticky. The ONE lip gloss can be bought here for £8.95.

The Rajeuner Lip Serum is a little different to the other products in this Friday’s feature, as it is for protection rather than appearance. It’s a unique formulation containing plant extracts and an SPF to ensure your lips are moisturised, repaired, rejuvenated and protected. A long-lasting treatment with a silky, silicone base which is completely free of petrochemicals and parabens, the serum slides on and is absorbed immediately into the lips, meaning there’s not stickiness which can cause havoc. It is available in many delightfully chic colours. The gloss contains organic jojoba oil and organic apricot oil, which nourishes and moisturises the lips to make them as soft as possible. The Lacquer Lab - Spring Breakers Collection

A classy nail can really pull an outfit or look together. That’s why we were very excited, here at The Amazing Blog to receive two lacquers from The Lacquer Lab’s Spring Breakers Collection. They were kind enough to send us Joy Ride and Cancun Hot to try out. Both colours are very on trend for this summer season and we were dying to try them!

The Lacquer Lab is a really exciting company, as they come out with unique nail colours for every season. They are also 5 free, which means that they do not include 4 nasty chemicals (Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene and Camphor) in their hand mixed lacquers, and they do not test on animals. Our nails and all the cute fluffy animals thank The Lacquer Lab for that! Both colours that we received are well placed to represent the whole of the summer season. The Joy Ride is a unique pastel mint colour, neutral enough to be perfect for the office, a garden party, or just everyday errands, while the Cancun Hot is named perfectly! This orangey-red colour is for those steamy summer nights, or that exciting summer holiday (If we are lucky!!), but if you are spending the summer behind a desk, then you can always put it on to brighten up your outlook while you are stuck indoors.

Jonathan Aston - Vignette Tights

When it comes to fashion, my tastes and preferences are quite particular – I never wear trousers or jeans. However, I do love wearing high-waisted shorts, especially if they’re denim. Also, I don’t like wearing colourful clothes, as me and my best friend joke “Ana will wear any colour as long it is black”. When Jonathan Aston’s tights arrived to The Amazing Blog I was shocked by the powerful colours – bright pink and purple blended to give a dip dyed effect. My friends always say that I should really move on from black and wear more colourful clothes; so in order to shut their mouths I decided to give these tights a go.

Jonathan Aston was founded in Leicester in the mid-sixties by Ralph Salem. Salem changed the history of hosiery using knitting machines that had only ever been used for plain tights to produce ‘fashion hosiery’. Jonathan Aston quickly became one of the coolest names in the industry with celebrities like Twiggy and Jean ‘The Shrimp’ Shrimpton adorning their legs with these high-quality and fashion-lead tights.

The tights we received at The Amazing Blog are the Vignette Tights in bright pink and purple with a dip dye effect. As mentioned before, I was pretty scared when I first saw them – however, I ended up seeing myself wearing them everytime I wanted to add a bit (or a lot) of colour to my black outfits. Jonathan Aston tights quality is outstanding – and for a person that lives in tights because finds trousers to be terribly uncomfortable, that’s a bit statement. They’re very soft, fit perfectly and also, they’re very easy to wash. I’ve already washed them a few times and the colours are still as vibrant as the first day.
