Misfortune Cookies

Halloween is upon us, so here at The Amazing Blog we have some grown-up fun to spook up your Saturday. Prezzybox have brought us the delectable yet devilish Misfortune Cookies, not to be confused with their charming counterpart, these cookies bite back! Prepare yourself for the fright of brutally honest, pessimistic and crude responses.

Misfortune Cookies are the daring delights that every table needs this Halloween, each packet is adorned with a ghoulish character. But the worst part to this ghastly treat is yet to come, beneath the soulless black cookie lies a fortune that won’t leave you jumping for joy. But rather heading out the door in shame. Although the cookie is delightfully crisp and sweet, the misfortune can be hard to swallow. Each box contains 13 cookies, suitably unlucky for those who dare to take one. We love this unique idea for a frightful but fun filled Halloween dinner gift - it will surely provide plenty of laughs and entertainment this October. This tricky treat is one for the adults too, proving you’re never too old to enjoy the hellish holiday.

This eerie edible paired with wickedly witty packaging is available on Prezzybox for a mere £11.95. Give your unwitting guests a ghastly night to remember.

LuminAID – Solar Powered Camping Light

For those occasions when we want to go glamping, here at The Amazing Blog, we've found the perfect tool to eliminate the lengthy struggle of lighting a fire. Bear & Bear have brought us the LuminAID Solar Powered 12 Hour Inflatable Camping Light, an innovative and useful item that would come in handy on any trip.

The LuminAID lantern is ideal for campers due to its compact size. It's inflatable, waterproof, lightweight and solar-powered, so it certainly ticks all of the boxes for an outdoor adventure. In addition to these factors, the high quality battery is quick to recharge and has an amazing energy storage capacity, so you’ll never be without a light. Plus there are a range of brightness settings, so you’re in complete control. The light conveniently inflates through a small valve, which then causes a diffusion of LED light to protect your eyes from glare. What makes this compact light quite remarkable is that it will easily light up a 125 square foot space. We found the carry handle and hanging hooks extremely useful, making it functional for almost any outdoor scenario.

Whether you’re a festival goer, family camper, or Sunday trekker you would get great use out of this handy light. Get your hands on your own innovative inflatable camping light here for £22.

Living Nature - Sensitive Skin Range

Unsurprisingly, in today's modern world, around 50% of women suffer from sensitive skin, whether caused by diet, hormones or other external elements. Here at The Amazing Blog, we have searched for a gentle skincare product to save us from skin irritation, redness and blotchiness. We're pleased to report that Living Nature have come to our rescue with their range of Sensitive Skincare

Of the range's four products, our favourite was the Sensitive Night Moisture. Fragrance and allergen free, it's clinically proven to help soothe sensitive skin. The gentle moisturiser contains Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Harakeke Flax Extract and Avocado Oil, all of which help to provide deep overnight nourishment and cell renewal, without being too harsh on the skin. The cream is perfectly PH balanced and works with your Sensitive Hydrating Toner to nurture and soothe. After a few uses, we noticed our skin no longer looked so blotchy after cleansing, and there was certainly less of that horrible tight feeling. When applying the rich cream, our skin felt instantly gratified, and it simply melted into our visage with ease, noticeably restoring hydration and elasticity. We often find so-called ‘sensitive’ products end up irritating our complexions, but Living Nature has restored our faith.

Don’t suffer with skin sensitivity; get your own Night Moisture here for £26.50, and check out the rest of the Sensitive Skin range here.

Kuhn Rikon - Avocado Knife

Avocado is hailed as a certified fit food. It’s packed with important nutrients and essential fats, and adds excitement to any meal. Here at The Amazing Blog we love avocado almost as much as we love beauty, but we often find it tricky getting that creamy goodness out without making a terrible mess. However, Kuhn Rikon have changed that pesky preparation with their innovative new Avocado Knife.

The Avocado Knife has a flexible, preformed blade and corer to make it far easier to peel and remove the stone. There will also be no wasted food left on the knife with its non-stick coating to glide straight through the avocado. We had the opportunity to try it out; we loved how comfortable the ergonomic handle was and the clever thought behind the avocado shape. If you find yourself using the fruit often, then you can cut preparation time in half with this handy tool. Check out Kuhn Rikon's video to see the knife in action. It’s a fairly small product that would fit perfectly in your cutlery draw, or suspended using the hole in the handle. And thankfully there are no awkward care requirements; we put it in the dishwasher with the rest of the cutlery with no problem.

If you would like this useful, fuss-free Avocado Knife, get your own one here for £11.95.
