Friday Favourites - Father's Day Gift Ideas

With Father’s Day just around the corner, here at The Amazing Blog we’ve compiled a list of our favourite beauty and grooming products to treat your old man, and get him looking and feeling great this summer.

Next on our list is one of our favourite ranges of hair products over here at The Amazing Blog. Label M is high on our list, and we think their thickening tonic (£10.95 for 150 ml) and deconstructor matt paste (£11.50 for 50 ml) make a great Father’s Day gift.

If your old man is slightly thinning on top, the thickening tonic is a unique gel to liquid formula which gives instant volume and texture to your hair. The deconstructor paste is also a fabulous product, great for those who like to style their hair, but love the rough and ready look.

The Triple Pack (£25) helps start a skincare regime in three simple steps, and includes a Face Scrub; Shave Cream, containing guava extract to protect against razor burn; and a Hydrator.

We love that the products are fragranced with the range’s signature scents and are paraben free and 98% naturally derived. The products are suitable for all skin types and are made in the UK, and can be found at John Lewis, House of Fraser, Fortnum & Mason and Fenwick or from their website here.

Last, but certainly not least, New British luxury men’s grooming brand Thomas Clipper have the perfect shaving gift set this Father’s day, featuring the brand’s trademark built-to-last solid metal razors.

The Mark One (£85) and the Mark K (£125) shaving kits come with an exfoliating organic cotton flannel, an anti-inflammatory, organic shave balm, and razors that can be hand etched with up to 4 initials, to give your gift that personal touch.

Olsson Hair - Care Products

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’ve found that sometimes our head can start feeling more sensitive and irritated than usual. With constant heat styling and always trying new products, it doesn’t surprise us, but that doesn’t mean we enjoy it. Luckily, we’ve found relief with the hair products from Olsson Hair Care, since they cleanse and nourish our hair without damage.

The products are free of allergens, parabens and colour, so they are perfect for those with allergies or sensitivity to beauty products. This doesn’t mean the products lack quality, since they still give hair volume and moisturisation while deep cleansing strands and calming the scalp. Though the members of The Amazing Blog staff each have a mutual love for all things beauty, we also embrace the unique and wide array of skin and hair types we have in the office. As soon as Argania sent us their entire hair and skin collection, we were enthusiastic to experiment with each and every product.

The samples we received included the Desert Defence Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, the Cashmere Hair Leave-in Conditioner Spray, the Perfect Texture Salt Spray and the Conditioning Body Oil. Such a bounty for our sun drenched tresses and skin!

We were pleased to find out that each product does in fact treat all kinds of different types of hair and skin. The Desert Defence Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner worked wonders on our co-worker with afro-caribbean hair, for it both restored her natural curl pattern and softened her hair. The Perfect Texture Salt Spray was able to give a lot of body to staff members with thinner locks, along with making it smell sweet and delicious. Finally, we all loved the Conditioning Body Oil for its wonderful vanilla scent and ability to be absorbed so quickly. Overall, the entire collection of Argania products was appreciated in our office, because they worked so well across a large spectrum of hair and skin.

Crabtree & Evelyn - Verbena & Lavender de Provence Shampoo & Conditioner

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Crabtree & Evelyn.  Having featured many of their wonderful offerings in the past, we were delighted when they sent over their Verbena & Lavender de Provence Shampoo & Conditioner for us to try.  Following the success of their Verbena & Lavender Bath and Body Collection, we knew we were in for a treat, and these freshly scented products had us itching for our next shower.

Being such seasoned shampoo testers, we are aware that it’s often difficult to find a shampoo that doesn’t leave your locks feeling a little parched.
