Correct & Conceal – ReCover

Everyone suffers from an uneven skin tone at one point or another, it's completely inevitable, but that doesn't mean that it can't knock your confidence. We here at The Amazing Blog fully understand the struggle and toll an uneven skin tone can have on your self-esteem, so we've decided to let you in on our little blemish secret; ReCover. ReCover's Correct & Conceal is our must have product for red skin as it instantly corrects and conceals uneven and red tones.

The Correct & Conceal uses yellow-toned pigments to cover facial redness seamlessly. The product is thin but packed with pigment, making it untraceable and leaving you with an even finish. The benefits of this product are seemingly endless, with promises to conceal thread veins, disguise flushing, tone down sunburn and neutralise high colour. The product comes in an array of shades, from Very Light through to Deep Tan. The diversity in this range is one of the reasons that the product is so perfect, and we love that if you are unsure of which colour will suit your skin tone best, you can purchase a discovery pack with three potential shades. What’s more, their products are free from parabens, sulphates, fragrance, propylene glycol and animal-derived raw ingredients

The founder of ReCover, Annabel Jardella, is an expert makeup artist who has spent 25 years working on films such as Sense & Sensibility and Gladiator and teaching at the UK's leading makeup academy. In fact, Annabel learnt how to perform camouflage makeup after a cooking accident scarred her feet at the age of 16. It is, therefore, no wonder the product is so effective at colour correcting in a natural way. This product is easy to use at home or on the go, without having to rely on the thicker and heavier concealing products previously on the market.

Purchase the Correct & Conceal here for £28, or if you are unsure of your skin tone try the discovery pack here for £9.95

Avril - Mascara, Lipstick, Nail Polish

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love searching for new natural beauty finds and We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive the Avril Mascara Noir, Rose Vintage Lipstick and Bourgogne No26 Nail Polish. Avril is our sort of brand as they use all natural ingredients to create the best cosmetics possible.

We often struggle to find a lengthening mascara that lasts. Avril Mascara is designed to stay all day with no smudging as there’s nothing worse than looking in the mirror to find black specks trailing down your cheeks. The brush is what makes this product so special, it's shaped in a spiral with soft bristles whcih coats the lashes with just the perfect amount of product. We applied a few coats without any clumping. It’s so practical and easy to use and we love the fact that is has marula seed, jojoba and sunflower oil which all help to nourish and protect the lashes. We think that this is their hero product not only for performance but also for price point - You just cant go wrong.

The Rose Vintage lipstick felt luxuriously creamy and extremely moisturising. The colour had an iridescent quality mixing well to give a really rich colour pigment on the lips, providing long lasting colour, something we always look for in a good lippy! We loved that the lipstick also contains natural, organic ingredients, including jojoba oil, almond oil and shea butter which provides intense hydration and protection, perfect for the harsh winter weather. The gorgeous burgundy nail polish left us feeling complete, the brush was fairly wide making it easy and accurate to apply to the nail.

Avril is far more reasonable than the majority of the make-up collections. You can order Avril natural and organic mascara for just £5.19, Rose Vintage lipstick for £5.89 from Ecco-Verde.

Eye of Horus – Baked Goddess Eyeshadow Palettes

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love to add a bit of sparkle to our eyes. Going into Autumn/Winter, we're always on the lookout for the perfect shades to compliment our wintry wardrobes. With this in mind, we are very glad to present you with our newfound love, the new Baked Goddess Eyeshadow Palettes from Eye of Horus.

If you can picture yourself wandering the streets of Ancient Egypt, then you'll certainly be able to get on board with the inspiration behind these palettes and the Eye of Horus brand. Four mysterious and charming palettes for cool and warmer styles, there's certainly something for every taste. The Sekhmet Smokey and Sheba Mystical Shadow Palettes have a hint of desert to them, and have us in the mind of night and day. The Sekhmet Smokey Shadow Palette has silverpale moon and anthracite night colours, perfect for those of us in the office who favour a more sultry evening look. The Sheba Mystical Palette is a mesmerising reflection of a desert horizon and has a hint of sheen in each pan - this palette goes from a very pale champagne to a deeper plum and is a must have for an autumnal inspired style.

The Maat Sultry Shadow Palette offers a choice of warm, chocolaty shades. We’re talking about wonderfully pigmented matte hues from a light beige to a deep brown, the ideal palette for creating a warm smoky eye style that will give your glance an enigmatic look. Last but certainly not least, the Luminous Isis Shadow Palette is fantastic for an autumn, or indeed a Christmas party look. Express yourself like a true goddess with a vivid rose gold, a shimmering antique gold and a rusty bronze. Glowing with a golden undertone, the metallic finish of these shadows is absolutely enchanting.

Eye of Horus' formulas are pretty impressive. These velvety, long-lasting shadows are paraben-free, and are made with essential oils and natural waxes, making them a great discovery if you have sensitive eyes. Being cruelty-free doesn’t mean compromising on quality. These beautiful palettes have an amazing colour pay off, blending beautifully both wet and dry. And even without a primer, we found that the shadows didn't shift all day. Treat yourself to these beautiful shades here. They’re all available for £22.50

The English Mineral Makeup Company - Mineral Foundation

When it comes to make-up, we always favour a flawless finish here at The Amazing Blog. However, we never like to look caked in foundation. So when The English Mineral Makeup Company  sent over their Mineral Foundation for us to try, we were happy to let our skin breathe whilst giving ourselves comfortable coverage.

One thing we found seriously impressive about the brand is the sheer range of colours to choose from. With 30 shades to choose from, whether you’re porcelain or ebony, their foundation shades literally have you covered. It’s so refreshing to find a brand that cater to every skin colour. The lightweight powder provides a decent amount of coverage, and buffs easily into the skin when using the brands super soft kabuki brush. Lasting all day, the foundation is also 100% vegan and 100% pure mineral, so it’s really pure enough to sleep in. Great for those who are environment conscious, or simply for those looking for a soft focus foundation, The English Mineral Makeup Company is certainly worth checking out.

Louise Young - Brushes

Here at The Amazing Blog, I’m sure that you are aware by now that we are self-confessed make-up mavens. A good eyeshadow or lipstick arriving in the office will make our day. That being said, we know that a great make-up artist is only as good as their tools.  So we were excited to trial the Louise Young Cosmetics brushes that landed on our doorstep, hoping that they would help us on our way to perfect make-up application.

We were lucky enough to receive a number of wonderful brushes from the collection, all of which we took great pleasure in using. Among our new stash was the LY48 Mini Super Foundation Brush. I’ve long been BeautyBlender convert, as I feel that it provides a more seamless application, but brush was super indeed, perfect for distributing my base, which I then proceeded to blend in with my fingers. I was also lucky enough to try out the LY37 and LY13 Mini Socket Brush. The former is labeled a Brow Brush, but I found that it was ideal for gel eyeliner, helping me to finally master that tricky feline flick. The latter was amazing for creating a smudged out look around the lash line. My smoky eye has never looked so great! What’s more, all of the Louise Young brushes are the creation of Louse Young herself, a highly acclaimed make-up artist, so you know you’re be getting great quality.

Apply your make-up with the skill of a professional, thanks to Louise Young Cosmetics. You can purchase the collection here, with prices ranging from £6 to £36. My favourites, the LY48 and LY37 retail for £19 and £9 respectively.
