O.Moi – All-In-One Multi-Purpose Balm (Fragrance Free)

Why use several products when you could use one? O.Moi is back with their All-In-One Multi-Purpose Balm Fragrance Free. The Amazing Blog are big fans of o.Moi Skincare; in fact, we like the brand so much, that we’ve recently written about o.Moi Skincare’s Botanical Cream Deodorant here and have a few more products to come...

The All-In-One Multi-Purpose Balm Fragrance Free was launched in 2017, as a derived version of the original All-In-One Multi-Purpose Balm. It was formulated without any essential oils, and has a higher content of vitamin E, in comparison with the original balm. It is thus fragrance-free and allergy certified. As winners for two years running in the international 2017 & 2018 Beauty Shortlist Awards, this balm is perfect to heal dry, itchy and irritated skin on the face and body. What sets this natural balm apart from the others on the market, is its ability to heal psoriasis, burns and wounds and we think that this balm's qualities are second to none. It can also be used on the hair to repair, nourish, reduce, and prevent split ends. The balm doesn’t leave the hair greasy, but hydrated and soft. When o.Moi says 'multi-purpose' they truly mean it!

The All-In-One Multi-Purpose Balm Fragrance Free contains only four simple ingredients: Certified organic shea butter, coconut oil, peach kernel oil and vitamin E. NB: In the heat of the summer, we recommend keeping this balm in the fridge so that it doesn't liquefy. For us, this is our number one SOS go-to balm, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. You too can purchase O.Moi’s All-In-One Multi-Purpose Balm - Fragrance-Free 50ml for £48.00 here.

SO Drinks - Mixed Liqueurs

It’s always fun to discover new drinks, especially ones that are perfect for a summer happy hour. The Amazing Blog is excited to announce a new find, the UK drinks company, So Drinks. What we love is that this company only uses fresh and natural ingredients in their spirit distilling process, making sure that everything is concentrate-free. As a family owned and farm-based company, the founding pair Annie & Phillip adore the countryside and their mission is to conserve nature and natural resources wherever possible. The secret to their delicious So Drinks and is that they don’t rush the distilling process. As they put it, they allow the spirits 'to tell us when the product is ready'. What we like is that they use handpicked berries and blooms from the farm to give the spirits that extra bit of oomph. They have many delicious liqueurs all of which we were curious to try: Sloe Gin, Heather Honey infused Sloe Gin, Elderflower Gin, Rhubarb Gin, Christmas Pudding Gin, Cranberry Vodka, and their award-winning Sloe Sherry and Chilli Sherry.

So Drinks were kind enough to send us a selection of five of their different full-bodied spirits to try. Their Sloe Gin is made from handpicked sloes from their farm, which are then soaked in London Dry Gin. Next, we tried the Elderflower Gin Liqueur which has a light, sweet taste, thanks to the fresh elderflower blossom all from So Drinks’ farm hedgerows. This is a great cocktail staple. Their 2017 Great Taste Award winner Sloe Sherry is a sweet mix of handpicked sloe berries, added to premium dry sherry. This combination when chilled, made for the most perfect light-tasting summer aperitif. The Cranberry Vodka Liqueur has more of a full flavour due to the freshness of the cranberries that have been bathed in vodka, excellent over ice or in a cocktail. Finally, we tickled our taste buds with our favourite of the five, their Rhubarb Gin Liqueur all made from home-grown rhubarb; we found this spirit to have a gentle, sweet yet tangy taste. All you need to do is to add the champagne! We think So Drinks is one of our best recent #amazingfinds for spirits. Not only do they make a special gift for those that have everything, but are also a great staple to zhuzh up any drinks cabinet. All of So Drinks’ spirits are available in three sizes: 5cl for £4.95, 20cl for £12.95, and 50cl £24.95. Or you could try their Mixed Gift Box of all five 5cl gins here for £24.95. We hope you have as much fun drinking these as us - 'bottoms up'!

Predator Adventures with the Seabreacher Experience

We at the Amazing Blog sent Simon to explore...

So here’s a question - do you ever watch David Attenborough’s latest watery adventure, and from the relative safety of the living room sectional, thinking ‘hell yeah, I wish I could dive like that?’ Now is your chance, thanks to last year's launch of Predator Adventures and the Seabreacher. The Amazing Blog just loves the fact that you can literally become an 18-foot long killer whale - or perhaps a dolphin in our case, gliding majestically along the River Thames. It is undoubtedly one of the most innovative and exciting options for the metropolitan adrenaline junkie.

To see for yourself how fun this adventure can be, check out this video. Who doesn't want to give this one a go? Whilst protected by the elements with the F-16 Fighter Grade glass cockpit, you get to live out that Top Gun fantasy. With speeds up to 60 mph above the water, or 40mph below the surface, you will also get to jump 18-feet or dive to 6-feet, it’s one hell of a way to get your heartbeat racing.

Tickets cost from £89.00 (book here) for 20 minutes or £104 for 30 minutes. They also currently have an offer of two people for £189, for 30 minutes.  You can choose your preferred level of adventure: Dare To Conquer, Weekday Blast, or The Ultimate Thrill. However, children have to be over the age of 8-years-old. The demand for a fantastic way to spend 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the level, is going to be huge. So get in there fast and be ready to experience something unique. If you see a BBC camera crew jostling for a picture on the embankment - SMILE! You could be fronting Blue Planet’s opening titles on the new series!

Africology - The Rose Body Balm

Culture is an integral part of the journey for the beauty industry and its products. It is where both ancient and new ideas come together, transforming knowledge into something special. The Amazing Blog always gravitates toward beauty products that have adopted innovative ideas, especially ones that use culture as the foundation of practice. Africology is one such company, who celebrate Africa’s heritage and plant life, subsequently capturing the flora and fauna of Africa in their skincare products. I first came across Africology when I had a friend from South Africa to stay. Buried deep in her hand luggage was their serum, a product she eulogised for hours about. It was a piece of 'home' that she prized more than anything else that had travelled 8k miles to get here! Then Africology popped up again, as winners at 2018 The BeautyShortlist and that's when I knew that I had to try it.

The Rose Body Balm was the first product we requested to try.  Infused with shea butter, marula oil, rosehip seed oil and unrefined beeswax. Its texture is light and soft and glides across the skin during application. While massaging the product into the skin’s surface, the balm becomes a medium for increasing lymph flow and circulation. As it becomes a source of nourishment, the balm also alleviates muscle pain. The purpose of the balm extends far beyond hydrating dry areas and cracked heals. Rose, a foundational component of the product, is a mild anti-depressant and balances emotions and hormones. The floral aroma is subtle and calming. For use, warm a tiny amount in your hands and apply to the affected areas. The product can be used during a bath or shower, as part of a message, or melted in an aromatherapy burner. However, Africology recommends applying it to damp skin after a warm bath.

Interested in learning more about the key ingredients’ perks? Keep on reading...Shea butter: The fatty acids contained in shea oil are a source of vitamins A, E and F. Shea oil is an anti-inflammatory, and helps to retain moisture, relieve itchiness and soothe sunburnt skin. Marula seed oil: The oil extracted from the kernel of the marula fruit, the seed oil is rich in antioxidants and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Due to its light consistency, the oil doesn’t clog pores and treats acne with its antimicrobial and non-comedogenic properties. Beeswax: Beeswax is thick in nature, and acts as a protective barrier for the skin. As the foundation of the balm, it also prevents the separation of oil and liquid components. Rosehip seed oil: This oil contains vitamin A and C, which exfoliates and moisturises the skin while boosting skin regeneration and elasticity. Green rooibos (leaf powder): With its natural compounds, leaf powder is an excellent aid for eczema, nappy rash and acne. The alpha-hydroxy acid found in leaf powder also maintains healthy skin. African potato (root powder):  Root powder contains sterols and sterolins that are helpful in acne, eczema and psoriasis treatment.  It also boosts the immune system.

This product did the rounds at The Amazing Blog, we dabbed it onto our pulse points (gorgeous rose aroma) and also put a 1/2 teaspoon of the balm into our aromatherapy burner, which melted to give the office a sense of calm. A little does go a long way (hence the 125ml jar), you can purchase yours for £21 here.

AN79 – Tattoo Aftercare

Those of you with tattoos will be aware of the inevitable fading and blurring of inks. Tattoos are bound to shift with our ever-changing dermis (skin layers). They can always be touched up, but that is a hassle and additional expense. So why not give your tattoo the best care from the get-go? There are so many different products and methods of preserving tattoos, that it can be tough to decide which one is right for you. For all the tattoo-lovers out there, The Amazing Blog is excited to share a 100% natural and vegan product, with no artificial preservatives.

An79 is a product created by Alice Nicholls, who is an established and trailblazing British tattooist. She saw the need for a natural Tattoo Aftercare Balm and thus went about creating her own. An79 is made from an abundance of natural ingredients, to keep tattooed skin looking hydrated. One of its key ingredients is apricot kernels, which help to keep the inks both hydrated and sharp. Another is sunflower seeds, which are used to provide moisture, yet also possess anti-ageing qualities and even act as a slight pain reliever. Additionally, raspberry seeds prevent premature fading, and the use of lavender oil provides the balm with its fragrance, together with anti-inflammatory/anti-bacterial properties.

We recommend this product to keep your tattoo(s) looking sharp, fresh and protected from fading. Purchase the An79 Tattoo Aftercare Balm here for £20.00.
