Gold Haircare: Metamorphyc Dream Shampoo & Come True Conditioner and Ten-in-One

GOld 2.jpg

In our never-ending search to find green and sustainable products (that also care for the planet) at The Amazing Blog we happily stumbled across this multi-award-winning professional haircare Gold Haircare that offers all of the above.  Although they are a salon-based professional haircare they supply the consumer too.

Gold Haircare is a Danish company created by hair specialists and founded in 2009 by Victor Moreno and Marco Merie. Both these two haircare professionals have challenged the professional hair industry by redefining the standards of haircare with their green credentials. This is a new generation of haircare designed for a luxury performance that also takes into consideration sustainability and caring for the planet. This is where Gold Haircare meets with the stringent environmental regulations in Denmark, a country known to be one of the most advanced in terms of green credentials and sustainability. All of the products are formulated to be cruelty-free, natural, with renewable and sustainable ingredients. There are certainly no parabens, ammonia, and Resorcinol (a toxin that is often found in hair dyes) or sulphates to be found here Gold Haircare is vegan and ISO 16128 certified which guarantees that all shampoos are formulated with at least 60% natural ingredients and their conditioners and masks are with a reassuring 90% too. Furthermore, the company is a member of PETA, and strongly supports two other environmental organisations: The Nature Conservancy and Oceana. In just ten years of trading, this brand has gained global recognition as one of the most innovative Danish haircare brands, and in the last couple of years, it has carved out space in the beauty and fashion sectors. This year, Gold Haircare competed in the Global Green Beauty Awards 2020 and were a Gold winner in the Best Hair Masque with their Luxury Hair Masque. Every year Gold Haircare organises their exclusive Gold Show, where the Gold international artistic teams from all around the world, meet to compete showcasing some of their artistic and cutting-edge hair designs.

The two of the three products we’re talking about are the GOLD Dream Shampoo and the GOLD Come True Conditioner, are from the Metamorphyc range. We note that these were also awarded at the Global Green Beauty Awards were these two products with Silver and Bronze in their respective categories. This range is designed to bring hair an innovative two-stage regenerating programme working together with their other products ‘healing bond’ and ‘vitamin miracle’. The key ingredients in this range are marula seed oil, porcelain flower, and purple orchid; which when combined help to boost strength and protect the natural structure of the hair. This collection is specifically designed to enhance inner hair strength with a coating of oils that help to lock in and ensure long-lasting colour. The gentle shampoo and conditioner here both have a pH of 5 and 4 where they intensely moisturise hair, scalp as well as protecting colour with its incorporated UV filter. The GOLD Come True Conditioner also gives control to curls together with moisturising and nourishing. To apply start with the shampoo, using a small amount on damp hair, massage then rinse away. Follow this directly with the Come True Conditioner which needs to be left in the hair for 3-4 minutes, then again rinsed away. We found that our hair felt incredibly soft and revitalised with a glamorous and healthy-looking sheen. It also left the hair smelling fresh with a subtle vanilla/floral scent. You can purchase the GOLD Dream Shampoo 250ml for £27.95 here and the GOLD Come True Conditioner 250ml for £30.95 here.

The third product that was kindly sent to us was the GOLD Ten In OneThis spray is an all-in-one mist that can be used either on wet or dry hair, to untangle, control frizz or simply as a prep for a blow-dry. It has oils like sunflower and argan as well as hydrolysed wheat protein all of which offer a high concentration of omega-6 acids, vitamins A and E, and antioxidants to moisturise and protect the hair. We sprayed this on dry hair and found it to be a lightweight and perfect for achieving a velvety lustre that controlled static, all without weighing the hair down. To use on wet hair, spray from a 20cm, untangle the hair with a comb, style the hair, then blow-dry, straighten or let the hair dry naturally. Or on dry hair, apply on the palm, then gently apply from mid-length to the ends. We mustn’t forget to mention that this Ten In One was also awarded the Best Argan Product and is available for £24.95 here. We think that Gold Haircare products are perfect for anyone looking for high-performance luxury haircare with an environmental conscience.

Watermans Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner

Many of us have the same problem when it comes to haircare - we simply have too much. Endless bottles of cremes, mousses and gels litter our shower racks, and we must confess that some of them have never even been opened. We therefore decided to take decisive action at The Amazing Blog, to find minimal products that encourage your natural hair to shine, without the need to buy the entire haircare aisle. Our solution against hair loss, is the UK based company, Watermans, who have created an award-winning hair growth system pack. This includes their Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner, both packed with ingredients that make our scalps tingle, encouraging our hair grow to grown both quicker and stronger. Thank goodness for biotin, caffeine and argan oil!

Founded by husband and wife, Matt and Gail Waterman, the brand aims to provide haircare products that promote faster and thicker hair growth. This is something they have achieved, with sulphate and paraben free products that have grown the brand to become a household name. The Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner are full of DHT blocking ingredients (dihydrotestosterone, an androgen hormone responsible for androgenetic alopecia and pattern hair loss), which help to combat hair loss during pregnancy, menopause and in some cases, alopecia. With a unique formula which supplies oxygen to the follicles, this range gives brittle and weak hair new strength, fighting dandruff, flaking skin and itchy scalps.

Focusing on the Grow Me Shampoo, we were pleased to see that it is gender and race neutral, giving everyone the opportunity to presume wonderfully thick and long hair. By stimulating the cell metabolism and providing oxygen, the shampoo helps with undiagnosed scalp problems and hormonal imbalances that can cause hair loss. With the use of biotin, caffeine, argan oil, rosemary oil, you’ll need to leave the product on the scalp for 3-4 minutes to reap the full benefits - giving you plenty of time to sing your heart out. The Cholesterol Conditioner, with caffeine and rosemary extracts, contains a special anti-hair loss formula which boosts our hair, by replenishing and nourishing from roots to tip. To achieve the best results, the products are recommended to be used four times a week for 30-60 days.

We’re already sold, but if you're not sure, then this UK based company is listed by PETA as a business friend, highly against animal testing. If you’re as excited as we are about these products, then you can purchase Watermans' Hair Growth System Pack, containing both the Shampoo and Conditioner (250ml each) for £21.95 here.

24hour Multi-action Balancing Cream and Rejuvenating Herbal Elixir from Kypwell.

At The Amazing Blog, we wish we were holidaying in Cyprus instead of enduring the English autumn, however with Kypwell products you bring Cyprus into your skincare. Their products are based on locally grown herbs and the Cyprian lifestyle. With an inherent respect for nature and belief in holistic beauty, Kypwell products are free from parabens, mineral oils, GMO, synthetic fragrances, colours, silicons, and harsh chemicals. Hopefully, that sounds as impressive to you as it did to us. Also, all their skincare products are PETA certified, vegan and not tested on animals. At The Amazing Blog, we got our hands on the Kypwell 24 hour Multi-action Balancing Cream for oily/combination skin and Kypwell Rejuvenating Herbal Elixir for normal/dry skin and oily/combination skin.

Kypwell's 24hour Multi-action Balancing Cream uses a specialist blend of herbs and herbal extracts including yarrow, agrimonium, betula, althaea, elder, geranium, and rose to regulate oiliness in the skin, provide anti-inflammatory agents and tone the skin. Oily skin readers should note that even with oily skin, moisturising is key to good skin, so the 24hour Multi-action Balancing Cream also maintains skin hydration. The 24hour Multi-action Balancing Cream is also available in a formula for normal/dry skin which rejuvenates the skin's collagen and contains UV and pollen protection.

The Rejuvenating Herbal Elixir is also available in two formulas; normal/dry and oily/combination. We tried the normal/dry formula which provides a deep hydration and increases skin's elasticity. Enriched with borage, jojoba, avocado, grape-seed and apricot oils the elixir improves water circulation through layers of the skin, reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles and increases the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. Apply 1-2 pumps to face prior to moisturising with the 24hour Multi-action Balancing Cream and watch it take instant effect.

The Kypwell products come in recyclable packaging, airtight to preserve the natural ingredients inside. You can find the 24hour Multi-action Balancing Cream (50ml) here for £57.99, and the Rejuvinating Herbal Elixir (30ml) here for £68.70.

BM Beauty

Following a bit of a buzz on Twitter I was excited to discover a new range of mineral makeup…with a difference. BM Beauty has succeeded in rebranding mineral makeup for the younger generation. I have been a mineral makeup convert for a while now, but I do feel the options can be a bit blah if you are looking for fashion-led colours and party sparkle. There is no reason why mineral makeup should be specifically for an older market, young skin is not going to thank you for the bismuth oxychloride, parabens, nano particles and synthetic dyes and fragrances found in many makeup ranges either.

Lucky me then, when a couple of weeks later I found myself heading off to meet co-founders of BM Beauty, the lovely Laura McComiskie and the uber-glamourous ex-Pussycat Doll, Kimberly Wyatt. The girls explained that they wanted to create a range of hardworking products that could be used to create a wide spectrum of different looks – from natural earth goddess right through to full-on glamour puss. They also wanted to offer the benefits of mineral makeup to a younger audience, showing them that mineral makeup can give great coverage, or provide amazing colour intensity, whilst also being good for your skin. Lightweight products that allow the skin to breathe are ideal for troublesome teenage skin and, for those of us not quite ready to give up our inner disco queen, the mineral eyeshadows can be blended and layered to create an amazing effect. Kimberly and Laura are also very proud to say that the whole of the BM Beauty range has the stamp of approval from the BUAV and PETA – we love.

After a bit of an office testing session we found that the foundation shades could be applied finely for just a flicker of colour, or layered on for more coverage.  My favourite was ‘Stripped’, I find most of mineral make up foundations too yellow but loved the gentle warmth of this one. The shimmer and pigments in the eye shadows were very intense and vibrant, I got creative and blended ‘Her Majesty’ and ‘Platinum Tiara’. The Mineral Finishing Powder had a lovely silky quality to it, perfect for creating that luminous glow, there was a bit of a ruckus when we had to decide who got to take this one home!
