Teatonics - Laid-Back Botanical Tea & Mind-Awakening Yerba Mate Tea

In typical English fashion, here at The Amazing Blog, we are avid tea drinkers. We’re always sipping on different blends, trying new flavours and trying to settle on a favourite. This week is no different and we’re happily drinking our new brews from award-winning Dorset brand, Teatonics. With a range of delicious blends to choose from, we’ve never been more eager to put the kettle on.

The brand launched in 2014, when founders, Rosie and Charles, traveled to Latin America and found themselves inspired. Of their four unique blends, we tasted the Laid-Back Botanicals and Mind-Awakening Yerba Mate. The organic Laid-Back blend was wonderfully soothing, with its Chamomile and Lavender making it the perfect pre-bedtime cuppa.  Our favourite, however, was the Yerba Mate blend. Naturally caffeinated, the delicious tea is infused with citrus Orange Peel and Peppermint, perfect for an invigorating boost at any time of day. Blended with supplements and superfoods, it’s great to find something that tastes as great as it actually is.

TeaTonics have also just launched two new delicious flavours, Ruby-Red Restorative with red & green rooibos, hibiscus, cacao shells, vanilla pod and liquorice, and Nourishing Maté-Spice with yerba mate, ginger, cardamom, turmeric and a touch of chilli. We cannot wait try these! What’s more, Teatonics offer a brilliant subscription service, so you’ll never go thirsty again.

Brew yourself a cuppa and buy a pack of 14 teabags here for £5.50. Alternatively, treat yourself to a subscription package, starting from £10 per month.

Granny's Secret - Light Jam

Here at The Amazing Blog we love nothing more than to indulge, but like most of us always feel guilty after we’ve given in to that pesky sweet tooth! However, with Granny’s Secret Diet (Light) Jams, we no longer have to feel the guilt while we’re devouring our crumpets.

Granny’s Secret Diet (Light) Jams are created from traditional recipes, contain no additives, and are vegan, gluten and dairy free. The brainchild of Serbian born Snezana Knowles, Granny’s Kitchen UK takes the tradition jam recipe, but instead of adding mountains of sugar, uses fructose instead which make the jams 40% less calorific, healthy and natural.

These were so delicious, you truly would never know that they aren't loaded with sugar. We like to eat natural, but not if it means compromising on enjoying our food. And being from the UK, we do eat a lot of jam. Granny's Secret Jam, in short, is perfect for us.

The jams come in a variety of flavours including Blackcurrant, Apricot, Sour Cherry, Strawberry, Wild blackberry, Raspberry, and can be purchased from Selfridges, Lakeland or the company website.

The Organic Pharmacy - Self Tan

Around this time of year it seems that everyone on the streets is sporting a lovely summer glow, but several of us here at The Amazing Blog aren’t so lucky. It seems we are pale or bright red, with nothing in between. We, therefore, couldn’t have been more grateful to receive The Organic Pharmacy’s Self Tan.

For those of you who find a natural tan elusive, look no further than this 100% natural product. This self tan uses a unique DHA, Ecocert derived from sugar beets to give you a natural glow without harming skin. It also contains shea butter, aloe, jojoba, and coconut oil, which allow it to moisturise while you apply. This product is completely free from preservatives, colourants and petrochemicals and is gentle on sensitive skin. As an added bonus, it has a light and pleasant fragrance, so there is no worry about smelling like you are covered in product.

When we tried this product, we were glad to find that it felt very lightweight and didn’t leave a greasy film on top of our skin. It went on evenly and without streaks, and in just a few hours we had a soft, uniform glow. We especially loved that it lasted several days, and we only needed to apply a few times a week in order to spend every day looking radiant.

The Konjac Sponge Company - Angel Cloth

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’re big fans of cream cleansers. Whether we give our faces a scrub in the shower (guilty as charged) or give our cleansing routine a bit more loving attention, we usually reach for a flannel or muslin cloth to help us along the way. So we were curious when the Original Konjac Angel Cloth from The Konjac Sponge Company landed on our desks, and were excited to see how it compared to our regular cleansing tools.

Looking uncannily like a prawn cracker, we were somewhat bemused by the odd looking cloth. However, when rinsed with water, the cloth relaxes and expands into a soft cleansing square, perfect for use with our favourite products. Rich in minerals and super gentle on the skin, the 100% Natural Vegetable Fibre Face Cloth makes a milder alternative to a muslin cloth, and is extremely kind to the skin. Made from the Japanese Konjac plant, it’s packed with antioxidant properties and, being 100% natural, is more than ideal for sensitive skin. We were surprised by just how soft it was – it’s certainly not what you expect when you see the angel shaped sponge in its packaging.

Turn over a more gentle cleansing leaf with the Original Konjac Angel Cloth. You can buy it here for £11.99.
