Taste of London 2014

We here at The Amazing Blog  are always keen to tantalize our taste buds with new and interesting foods and flavours. Lucky for us, Taste Of London is back. We wrote about Taste of London back in 2011  so we were super excited to feature it again. A 5 day exhibition in Regents Park, the event sees restaurants, chefs and food lovers come together to share in culinary delights and an array of other frivolities, and we’ll certainly be joining them.

From the 18th to the 22nd of June, Regents Park will play watering hole to everybody who’s anybody in the London food world. A ticket entitles you to a four hour food adventure, where you can sample dishes from 40 of London’s finest restaurants. If tucking into delicious dishes isn’t enough for you, the festival also hosts a range of activities, such as a Sushi Masterclass, wine and cheese pairings, and the chance to taste a variety of beers. Eric Lanyard and Michael Roux Jr are just a couple of the famous faces that will be there to share their love of food with you foodie heaven.

We all have our favourite restaurants, weather it’s the little place round the corner, or the expensive anniversary-only restaurant in the heart of London. However, we also all know how great it is to find something new, exciting and that you really love! Taste of London is a great opportunity to do just that, as well as have a fabulous day out. With tickets costing around £25.80 for standard admission, make sure you book a slot for the biggest food festival of the social season. We feel like we’ve died and gone to food heaven.

Ancienne Ambiance - Goddess Waters

Working in an office can often be quite stressful for both body and soul, especially when the workload piles up and you don’t find the time to step away from the screen. However, here at The Amazing Blog  we have found the perfect solution in the Ancienne Ambiance Goddess Water. A unique product, the Goddess Water's uses range from a make up remover to a irritation soothing spray for pets and children. In soft Rose and calming Lavomile scents, we’ve been spritzing these heavenly waters left, right and centre in order to hydrate our skin and relax our mind.

Although the Goddess Waters are a bit of a multi-purpose product, we have found that they make a wonderful facial mist, with refreshing moisture just a spray away. Adding a glowing sheen to my stressed pallor, the Goddess Rose Water can also be used to reduce redness, acne, and skin irritations. Its antibacterial properties mean that we can use it as much as we like, with no worry of aggravating our skin. The Lavomile Water gets most of its use from us as a soothing room spray. The delicate blend of Lavender and Chamomile means it fills the office with a gentle scent, and is a lot more subtle than its floral rose counterpart, creating a much calmer environment in an often hectic office. So, if you need a rescue remedy, and want to try something a little different, let Ancienne Ambiance Goddess Waters restore inner, and outer peace to your work environment.

Both the Lavomile and the Rose Goddess Waters are available to buy here, both for £20.

Pulpe De Vie Tickle Me! Body Scrubbing Butter

Here at The Amazing Blog, we like to get rid of the dead weight...of dead skin cells that is! Smooth skin is something that we are all on the look out for so that is why when we got our hands on the Pulpe De Vie Tickle Me! Body Scrubbing Butter we were very excited.

This sweet smelling scrubbing butter is made with 99% natural ingredients. We like that the scent of the scrub is not overpowering, but still smells fresh and lightly fruity after it is applied to the skin. It also features amazing organic tomato and blackcurrant waters from the South of France that impart antioxidants into your skin with each use. The apricot kernel powder gently exfoliates and smoothes skin from top to toe, and this certified organic scrub is also safe to use for our sensitive sisters (or brothers) and is free of parabens, silicons, and GMO’s! Simply smooth on wet skin in the shower, let the apricot kernel powder scrub away your dead cells and rinse. After the shower, marvel at your newly soft skin and apply a moisturizing lotion.

Pulpe De Vie Tickle Me! Body Scrubbing Butter is available for purchase through Absolutely Devine  for £14.00 here.

The Lacquer Lab - Spring Breakers Collection

A classy nail can really pull an outfit or look together. That’s why we were very excited, here at The Amazing Blog to receive two lacquers from The Lacquer Lab’s Spring Breakers Collection. They were kind enough to send us Joy Ride and Cancun Hot to try out. Both colours are very on trend for this summer season and we were dying to try them!

The Lacquer Lab is a really exciting company, as they come out with unique nail colours for every season. They are also 5 free, which means that they do not include 4 nasty chemicals (Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene and Camphor) in their hand mixed lacquers, and they do not test on animals. Our nails and all the cute fluffy animals thank The Lacquer Lab for that! Both colours that we received are well placed to represent the whole of the summer season. The Joy Ride is a unique pastel mint colour, neutral enough to be perfect for the office, a garden party, or just everyday errands, while the Cancun Hot is named perfectly! This orangey-red colour is for those steamy summer nights, or that exciting summer holiday (If we are lucky!!), but if you are spending the summer behind a desk, then you can always put it on to brighten up your outlook while you are stuck indoors.

We like to live on the wild side here at The Amazing Blog, so our vote goes to Cancun Hot! For Joy Ride or Cancun Hot, check them out for £7 each, or take a look at other The Lacquer Lab collections here.

Love Coconut – Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is arguably the most versatile product on the market right now. You can use it in beauty treatments, as a hydrator for hair, and as a healthier alternative in recipes. As a self confessed foodie, I like to use it for cooking. So when Love Coconut sent us a couple of jars of their delicious extra virgin coconut oil, we here at The Amazing Blogwere keen to get cooking.

The Extra Virgin Coconut Oil from Love Coconut is 100% organic and insanely healthy. In order to retain the maximum nutritional content, Love Coconut uses the “cold press” method to extract oil from the coconut, which involves separating the coconut oil from the cream after it has solidified, making the coconut oil extremely pure. Love Coconut’s oil is high in lauric acid and other medium chain fatty acids. These acids help you metabolize food faster, strengthen your immune system, and repair dry skin & hair. I started incorporating coconut oil into my diet by switching it for butter and other oils. I particularly like to use it when baking, because a slight hint of coconut can make recipes even tastier! When used on the skin it gives a great glow, without feeling greasy. There are endlless uses for this product, so go pick it up and see what works best for you!

Love Coconut Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is available here at £8.49 for 400ml.
