Jinmee - Hydrapuff

Have you found yourself with more product on your hands than on your actual face? At The Amazing Blog we certainly have, and it’s just such a waste! Meet Jinmee who have pioneered a new way of thinking about cleansing with something sustainable, practical, and high quality. They have developed a product called Hydrapuff, the new super absorbent skincare sheets.

Founded by Karen Hong and produced in Korea, Jinmee was created when she realised the amount of product wasted on hands or cotton pads particularly as these thick pads soak up more product than it is actually applying to your skin.  She came up with these clever Hydrapuff sheets which are super thin and multi-purpose. They hydrate the skin, maximise product use, reduce waste, she came up with the Hydrapuff, as an affordable and high-quality product that works through simplicity, honesty, and self-care.

Hydrapuff are super-absorbent skincare sheets that come in a double-layered sheet. For the first step of your routine, keep your Hydrapuff intact, folded in half to give it extra thickness, it can be used with all your favourite skincare products. These sheets not only hydrate the skin but also as mentioned reduce the wastage. Once you add a skincare product to a sheet, it transforms into a gel-like tissue that adapts to your skin, which means applying the entire product onto your skin, not on the cottonwool or bin! You can apply your choice of toner, cream cleanser or oils, start by cleansing your face with the Hydrapuff sheet and your chosen product, and then gently wipe away your makeup or daily grim. Hydrapuff can also serve as a mask, by applying a serum or product onto the sheet and split the Hydrapuff in the middle. Then, place with your product on cheeks or the desired area allowing it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes (remove them before they get dry), pat your skin gently and done!

Hydrapuff is suitable for all skin types, made from a natural rayon and pulp blend with 60 sheets in a box. The sheets are vegan, cruelty-free, bio-degradable with recyclable packaging,  making them tick all the boxes and getting the thumbs up from us. We loved this multifunctional product which has saved us up to 50% less waste with our serums, cleansers and toners. Get your Hydrapuff here for only £6.50.

Scence Natural Skincare - Natural & Nourishing Body Moisturiser Balm

At The Amazing Blog we’ve certainly tried our fair share of beauty and skincare products (in fact, it’s near 4k featured product post!) Week after week we find ourselves still impressed by the new products that arrive for us to try. Most of the time we are just amazed by how cutting-edge and innovative the products really are. However, today we’d like to go back to basics with an organic, eco-friendly packaged and simple to use brand Scence Natural Skincare Products.  For those of you less familiar with the brand, we recently featured their natural deodorants here.

Handcrafted in Cornwall, Scence offers products for people who care about what they put on their skin, and how they impact in the world around them. The founder, Krista Taylor, knew she wasn’t alone in her feelings towards the single-use plastic conflict and created her range of vegan-friendly, all-natural products in fully compostable and recyclable packaging. Sence was born.

We put the Scence Natural & Nourishing Body Moisturiser Balms to the test. Made with coconut oil and mango butter, the moisturiser balm comes in 8 different fragrances, we tried 5 of these each is curated using different natural essential oils. The first two that we had to try were Clary Sage and Earth Spice. They both had quite earthy scents that we felt were perfect for the nights as they draw in and as we gravitate towards the winter equinox.  The stand-out amongst the balms was the Summer Citrus scent with hints of orange and bergamot - this was our hot favourite. Best of all none of these scent combinations are overpowering, instead, they are subtle and light. We love the stick format of this body balm, it simply glide it over your skin after showering and it melts right in. It also creates a soft barrier to the skin without feeling greasy or thick. For those who have sensitive skin, why not try the body balm which is Jojoba Balm and unscented. And finally the After Sun Balm which makes the perfect addition to your travel bag, this has the lavender, peppermint and roman chamomile essentials oils, this healing combination also smells divine.

The fully compostable and recyclable packaging beautifully complements the all-natural ingredients. It’s important to care just as much about what goes into the ingredients as what the product is packaged in, and we love that Scence noticed that. If you would like to purchase a Natural & Nourishing Moisturiser Balm from Scence, they are available here for £12.

BLEND Collective - Enlivening Hand & Body Lotion

If there’s a step in my beauty routine that I can't skip that'll be body moisturizer - for me there's nothing more uncomfortable than tight and dry skin. When it comes to choosing the actual moisturizer, I’m guilty of being quite picky; I prefer thicker and more buttery textures for the winter and a thin and almost runny consistency for the summer. So bearing in mind that my skin has been very dry for the past weeks, body butter has been my best ally. However, if there’s one thing that I can’t stand of thick creams is waiting for them to be absorbed - especially if like me, you rush in the mornings to go to work. So in my hunt for the perfect deep hydrating body lotion, I came across with BLEND Collective’s Enlivening Hand & Body Lotion – a light yet hydrating, multi-purpose and all natural product.

To be fair, in the beginning I was quite sceptical of the level of hydration this lotion would offer to my dry skin, mainly because of its light and slightly runny consistency. To my surprise and from the first use, it left my skin feeling super soft and deeply moisturized – my skin absorbed it instantly leaving a delicious citrusy smell. And for my surprise, my hands absorbed the excess lotion in a few seconds: I had no need of washing my hands afterwards. This Hand and Body Lotion is part of BLEND Collective’s Enlivening Range, exquisitely blended by Alec Lawless, who was acclaimed as one of the most charismatic and passionate perfumers ever (at The Amazing Blog we’d love to read his book “Artisan Perfumery or Being Led by the Nose”!). The Enlivening Range has this fresh and modern scent, rich in Sicilian Melon, May Chang, Myrtle and Lime. BLEND Collective offers two other ranges: the Balancing and the Unwinding one – created again, by established experts on essential oils and aromatherapy, Emma Nash and Glenda Taylor.

Another thing that we love about BLEND Collective is that all of their products are at least 99% natural and contain organic ingredients – they’re free from potentially harmful and chemical ingredients. Moreover, their packaging apart from being hygienic and very convenient, is recyclable and produced in environmentally friendly factories.

At The Amazing Blog we’d love to try more products by BLEND Collective and we couldn’t be more pleased with the Hand and Body Lotion. This fabulous cream and the rest of their products can be purchased through their website. – BLEND Collective is a definite winner for The Amazing Blog; we’re in love.

Nail It!

Gone are the days when a French manicure was the height of sophistication and pillar-box red nails were considered daring; these days with snake skin manicures, nail wraps galore and new nail trends every season, having the latest ‘must have’ nails has become as important as carrying the latest designer handbag (not to mention a LOT more affordable). Nailgirls London was founded by former fashion editor Lynda-Louise Burrell and her sister Jo as a reaction to the nasty, toxic, nail wrecking polishes and salons that were saturating the beauty market. On her return from New York where weekly manicures were a must, Lynda and her sister noticed that London was seriously falling short on clean, affordable and friendly walk-in nail salons so set about creating the Nailgirls Spa to fill the void. The sisters also wanted to offer their own collection of nail polishes incorporating the very latest fashion colours hot off the catwalk as well as the classic hues that we all know and love. Nailgirls launch a new limited edition range to match the fashion catwalk collections each season; their unique shades were seen on the nails of a host of London Fashion Week shows last season including Erdem, Pringle and Hannah Marshall. What’s more all of the colours are free from any harmful chemicals (so no nasty odours), are not tested on animals are suitable for vegans and the packaging is recyclable. Talk about saintly!

Visit the website to see the full collection or pop into the Nailgirls Spa for a New Year's treat.
