long-lasting

Lark & Berry Fragrances

Finding only one fragrance that encompasses your style, personality and suits each season can be very tricky. At The Amazing Blog we believe a spritz of perfume adds that essential final touch to not only to how you feel but how you project your look. Today, we want to introduce you to one of our #amazingfinds from Lark & Berry, who have expanded their empire from being an exciting and disruptive force in the world of fine jewellery, to now turning their attention to making a change in the world of fragrances.

Launched in 2018 by Laura Chavez, Lark & Berry was born out of a desire to make a difference, and changing the jewellery industry. Laura noticed that she either found high-quality jewellery with skyrocketing prices or affordable jewellery that was very poor quality. She saw the opportunity to create her unique jewellery using only cultured diamonds and stones (all laboratory grown) which provide transparency, honesty, affordability and a much lower environmental impact. With Lark, meaning ‘playful’ and which was Laura’s favourite bird and Berry, being a pendant her grandmother gave her, she founded Lark & Berry.

Today we want to talk about Lark & Berry and their three fragrances in this new range of Eau de Parfum: Midnight Garden, White Dawn and Alchemy Number 3. This trio is all-natural, made with organic flower compositions and not tested on animals. We tried the Alchemy Number 3, all beautifully packaged in a subtle marbled box with a sweet hidden message (see pic above).  This deluxe bottle has a delightful touch with its gold chain and diamond charm around the neck of the bottle (perhaps it could double up as a ring?) Alchemy Number 3 boosted our senses with its heady key notes combining sandalwood and tuberose. It is deliciously long-lasting and retains top notes of the jasmine and ylang-ylang with the base notes of patchouli, leather and amber musk. As a warm and sensual fragrance, we think it complements this autumn season as the daylight draws in and the nights get longer. Each of the three Eau de Parfums retail at £75.00 for a 100ml here or at their new shop in London here. We also love is the fact that with every item sold at Larry &Berry (whether online or from their London store) five trees will be planted in areas worldwide where they’re environmentally needed the most, by their partnership with One Tree Planted (a US-based tree-planting non-profit).

XO Balm

As you know we at The Amazing Blog love to have a go-to beauty staple and for us not many beat XO Balm which is a latest multipurpose balm. The product is perfect for those with eczema, boyfriends with beards or sensitive skin in need or some TLC. The balm is effective in soothing and relieving dryness, sensitive and irritated skin. What’s more, the product is multi functional and can be used on the face, body and hair.

The balm is 100% natural and has a simple four-ingredient formula that offers a natural alternative to prescription products for those suffering from eczema and dermatitis. The effective combination of beeswax, coconut oil, olive oil and chia seed oil locks in essential nutrients and soothes, restores and strengthens everything it is applied to. The balm won’t clog your skin and is fragrance-free. It contains no synthetics and leaves a long-lasting protective barrier with a matte finish. Within days one of us with eczema found that this balm not only stopped them itching but also took down their redness - we're impressed! We think that this little balm is a handy travelling companion as the tin packaging means that it fits in any bag, pocket or hand making it perfect for those on the go.

You can purchase the balm here for £12.50.

Antimatter Lipstick - Illamasqua

Here at The Amazing Blog, we’re working hard all day, and that’s why we need a lipstick that can last us through the day. Thanks to Illamasqua’s Antimatter Lipstick line that’s entirely possible. We were happy to receive three of their colours, but the stand out for us is definitely the colour Binary, a warm-toned coral, which is perfect as summer is rolling in.

Illamasqua’s Antimatter Lipsticks comes in 18 vibrant colours, from deep reds to bright purples to hot pinks. They even sell a pure white, so you can get as creative as you want; dare to wear opaque white, create an artistic ombre, or lighten up any lipstick colour you have. The ethos of Illamasqua is rooted in creativity and self-expression, and with this wide array of colours to choose from everyone can express themselves. The lipstick can be applied opaquely for intense pay-off, or lightly for a more subtle lip stain. Not only is this lipstick long-lasting, but it is comfortable and leaves a nice semi-matte, semi-satin finish. The finish of these lipsticks is long-wearing while still being kind to your lips. We can't be the only ones who are excited to see a comfortable, yet statement, lip product amidst this drying liquid-lipstick trend.

Not only do we love Illamasqua's makeup, but we admire them as a brand. Illamasqua promotes self-expression and celebrating who you are as a person, and they have partnered with The Sophie Lancaster Foundation which works to rid society of intolerance and discrimination. If you'd like to support this worthwhile cause, you can purchase some S.O.P.H.I.E products, including t-shirts, an eye pencil and a blusher here, where £1 of every purchase goes directly to the foundation.
