Fushi – BioVedic Skincare Range

With the heatwave today, no one can deny that here in the UK it’s summertime. Much as we all enjoy having sun-kissed skin, and while the sun (in moderation) has multiple benefits, please stay in the shade to avoid the midday sun and dangerous UVA/UVB rays - we hope not to see lots of sunburnt faces on our commute tomorrow. Anyway, as The Amazing Blog regular readers will know, we like to champion indie brands which include all sorts of natural, organic, ethical and vegan products. Today, we bring you the wonderful BioVedic Skincare Range by Fushi, which is a natural and organic skin food.

Fushi meaning ‘eternal life’ in Japanese, was created through the heritage of Ayurvedic recipes. Ria Pattni the co-founder explained: “In Ayurveda, nothing is more powerful than botanicals when used in their purest form, which is why I love oils and herbs for their natural protective properties and their active ingredients for natural skin rejuvenation.” The formulations have been passed down through the generations to the now founders by their grandparents. The production of the products still remains the same which is by hand blending the oils and herbs creating organic, ethical, and pure skincare remedies. In alignment with their products is their ethos: Transparency, honesty and caring for the planet; these are the core values of the brand. Fushi also supports Fair Trade, ensuring the wellbeing of all workers and suppliers, as well as being a member of the Ethical Company Organisation and the Good Shopping Guide. We particularly like that they act responsibly reducing their impact on the people and planet by staying as green as possible.

The BioVedic Skincare Range is comprised of 3 products. The first of which is the BioVedic Enzyme Face Wash. This wash is mainly composed by vanshlochan herbs which deeply cleanse the skin and Rice Bran oils – packed with vitamin E - to moisturise the skin, giving it a long-lasting glow and helping blood circulation. The second is the BioVedic Radiance Face Oil which is a combination of 5 nutrient packed oils: raspberry seed (rich in vitamin A, E, and fatty acids), kalahari melon seed, rice bran, and moringa as key ingredients. This facial oil is light and fast-absorbing, It will act as a protective barrier against harmful chemicals throughout the day as well as working in tandem with the instant hydration cream to give your skin a radiant look. Lastly, the BioVedic Radiance Face Cream made from manjistha and saffron infused in kalahari melon seed oil (rich in omega), boosts your complexion, hydrates and repairs any imperfections. We applied it immediately after the Radiance Face Oil and loved how it nourished and protected the skin. Our favourite was the Radiance Face Oil using it either alone at night to feed our complexion, or by adding a few drops mixed in with the Face Cream, if our skin was feeling a little dry thus adding extra nourishment. All three skincare products should ideally to used together as part of your daily skincare routine to achieve ultimate results. Get the Fushi BioVedic Skincare Range here, the BioVedic Enzyme Face Wash  for £15.00, the BioVedic Radiance Face Cream for £20.00, and the BioVedic Radiance Face Oil for £22.00. Oh and if you have overdone it with the sun today, this skincare range will certainly help to repair the damage!

Khadi's Face Masks

The best way to start a relaxing self-care routine is with the perfect face mask. We at The Amazing Blog are always on the quest to find top quality products that work with the skin’s natural balance, so we were excited to discover Khadi, an skincare company with 100% organic and natural products.

Khadi combines Ayurvedic formulations (developed with Ayurvedic doctors), to create a strong unity of body and mind. The concept of the company was formed after one of the co-founders took a trip to India. H had always suffered with a dry and itchy scalp, a problem that was solved by using a Ayurvedic shampoo. So effective at ridding him of dandruff, he brought his findings back from India. He subsequently helped to set up the brand Khadi developing handmade herbal products like Ayurvedic shampoo, handmade soaps and skincare. Although these products are from India they are also German organically certified. All their ingredients are 100% natural made with herbal ingredients which are vegan, free of parabens and artificial ingredients. These products work with the power of India’s nature, using exotic ingredients and age old wisdom.

We tried three of their herbal face masks and were very happy with the results. Starting with our favourite one the Sandalwood, which is suitable for all skin types. We found that when using this, that our pores significantly reduced. Those of us with sensitive skin were also pleased to discover that it was particularly effective at cooling and calming the skin, even protecting against sunburn. It provides a fresh and healthy complexion, moisturising the skin and subsequently smoothing any small imperfections and wrinkles. The Orange mask is slightly sweet-scented - it immediately brightened our mood when applied. Perfect for combination skin, this mask works as a natural cleanser, helping to create a smoother complexion. It can also be used on the body, by stimulating blood circulation, helping to prevent both cellulite and bloating. Finally, the Neem mask is primarily suitable for normal to greasy skin, as it works as a natural antiseptic, preventing infections, removing toxins and restoring a natural and healthy glow. It really detoxifies your skin, freeing it from impurities, as well as refining pores. It also works to fight bacteria, leaving your skin feeling fresh, without a tight sensation.

All three herbal masks use clay as a base, which clarifies and prevents inflammation. No matter which skin-type, you will find the perfect mask to leave you feeling relaxed and fresh. By cleansing, hydrating and supporting regeneration, all three masks promote more harmonious complexion. To use, mix one teaspoon of the powdery mask with water (you can add milk for dry skin, or yoghurt for greasy skin), and apply a thin layer on face and neck (or even the body if you wish). Rinse after 15 to 20 minutes, and you’ll be greeted with a hydrated and fresher skin.

Vata Hydrating Cleanser - SAMAYA

At the Amazing Blog, we believe in the long-term benefits of using all natural products rather than those laden with chemicals and so love testing new products that use simple, natural ingredients and we have found a brilliant product in SAMAYA’s Vata Hydrating Cleanser.

SAMAYA is founded on Ayurvedic principles with a holistic approach, aiming to provide their customers with ‘perfect balance' by using simple and effective ingredients. SAMAYA has three distinct ranges each tailored for different needs – Pitta, Vata, and Kapha. As everyone's skin is different, the variety in SAMAYA care is marvellous because it means you can find the product that is right for you. With each range containing a blend of botanical ingredients, free from parabens and synthetics, you can't go wrong.

The SAMAYA product we tried was the Vata Hydrating Cleanser. The cleanser was creamy and rubs in like an oil, making it extremely hydrating without being too cloying. We adored the subtle and natural fragrance of the product. When applied it felt luxurious and holistic. The ingredients in the cleanser are splendid, with Ayurvedic botanicals such as Rose, Turmeric, Tulsi, Gotu Kola, and Ashwagandha. This particular blend of high-quality ingredients has a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant effects, making it a great cleanser for skin prone to acne and redness.

Great at removing makeup and impurities without drying out the skin, it left our skin feeling softer and more balanced.

We enjoyed SAMAYA’s Ayurvedic approach to skin care as the product offers a relaxing and indulgent cleansing experience that has great results. To achieve the perfect balance, you can purchase the Vata Hydrating Cleanser here for £69.00.

Garshan Cell Tonic Cream, Body Scrub, Body Oil and Pitta Rose Cream – Lakshmi

Here at The Amazing Blog, we like to try new natural skincare, always seeking for products which put the spotlight on natural ingredients. It is for this reason that we love the Lakshmi ranges made of products developed in line with Ayurvedic principles. This holistic approach of skin care aims to balance a person’s body to achieve optimal skin condition, through plant sources. We were lucky enough to receive a few of their products: the Cell Tonic Cream, Salt-Glow Body Scrub and Garshan Dren, all from the Garshan range, as well as the Rose Cream from the Pitta range

For skin affected by cellulite, the Cell Tonic Cream and Salt-Glow Body Scrub are a perfect match. Thanks to ingredients such as Garcinia Cambodia along with natural sources of caffeine like Yerba Mate and Coffee, these products help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. The addition of sea salt and Dandelion extract help to detoxify the skin too. We suggest to use the scrub first to remove dead skin and then, apply the cream to hydrate and moisturise the skin. They both have a nice and strong scent of Eucalyptus. Another problem your skin may be facing is water retention or bad blood circulation, which can leave skin looking dull. In this case, we would suggest to use the Garshan Dren, a blend of different oils, made for your body and to solve its issues. The oil drains all toxins from your skin and sooth damaged areas. So, apply the precious oil gently on your skin and massage the right areas.

Finally in the Pitta range, we tried the Rose Cream, which is a day soothing facial cream. It has been especially designed for sensitive skin and developed to strengthen, protect the skin. The formula includes active ingredients such as Argan oil, Topaz essence and Shea butter which work all together to hydrate and calm the skin. Apply the Rose Cream to your face and neck, only once you've cleansed and toned your skin and then massage. This will help your skin absorb the cream and have the best effect possible.

Use the best natural approach for your skincare routine with Lakshmi products. You can find the Cell Tonic Cream here for £30.50, the Salt-Glow Body Scrub here for £25.50, the Garshan Dren here for £39.90 and the Rose Cream here for £29.50.
